Experiencing the same problem. Progress is always stuck
Oh so I have to wait until I complete all of them. Guess I have to save for another bag/bank slot
I’m not sure if I need to keep these in my inventory. Here are some of these items I’m still keeping:
- N/W/S/E Tarir Commendations
- Luminate’s Keepsake
- Illuminated Tendril
I’m having a hard time managing my inventory
+1 for Nemesis’ builds. They are really good and it’s very detailed. I think he covered almost all of the builds.
If you keep on overloading him with conditions, he should go down first. Objective is to inflict conditions faster than what he cleanse. Conditionmancers are very capable of doing that.
Keep on poisoning him XD
Conditions are not useless against a warrior except when he’s in Berserker’s Stance.
I agree that the battle will be long but you should be able to gain the upper hand.
I use it for PvE just to mitigate damage since you will get some back. Makes me more tanky. Blood Magic tree is so disappointing but it helps a bit. I rarely use Consume Conditions to heal myself.
BTW, mine’s a conditionmancer. Even that said, this tree really needs a buff.
The Sigil of Torment actually does not share a cooldown with Sigil of Blood or with On Swap Sigils, which could make it an interesting choice to combo.
Oh really? I will have to go investigate this.
Let us know if you find something
GS has the best looks but doesn’t really look very necrotic for us, in my opinion.
Scythe is good XD
I’ll put this in a separate post.
Another build you could take is Hybrid Necro (Pow + Condition). It’s much faster but the armors are mixed. Let me know if you’re interested on this build and I’ll make one for you.
Only use Rabid if you are a full conditionmancer where your weapons are Scepter + Dagger, Staff.
Nemesis used Celestial for his Hybrid build. That’s another option for you.
If Carrion isn’t available yet, use Ravaging (highly available).
You’ll be spending more if you craft given that you don’t have the materials yet. Most of the time Fine rarity is enough (costs 1-2s a piece in the Trading Post). I only use Masterwork or Rare if I got one by chance (loots, rewards).
Andele’s right, there will be a point where your minions will became less useful than it was on lower levels. I’m only using Flesh Golem (even now).
Here’s a build that you may follow while you’re leveling to 80.

- Make sure to get Dhuumfire (Spite) in the future (level 70 if I’m correct), it will help you kill even faster. That trait works pretty well for leveling and exploration.
- The last 10 points can be allocated anywhere you want to.
- I used Sigil of Geomancy so that when you swap weapons you inflict more bleed. Sigil of Earth will not work yet since you only have a puny crit chance. If you find a more useful Sigil, feel free to swap it out.
- Sigil of Corruption is definitely needed.
- The Runes will make your bleed hurt more and last longer. That’s the same Runes I use for my conditionmancer.
- I’m not sure with the food so I just threw in the food I’m using for my Lv80 conditionmancer. Anything with Condition Damage will be good enough.
Good luck!
I would only use it in my own group to help with the healing. I’m traited to Blood Magic so this helps a bit. Most of the times, I don’t worry about my own HP since I’m already a bit tanky. I can remove conditions with Dagger 4 and Staff 4 anyway. Conditions are the last thing I need to think since it’s very easy to remove. I always find myself transferring conditions rather than using it for Consume Conditions.
I only find this good because Consume Conditions is already somewhat “overkill” for my group. Very situational though.
Mine damages for 206 per tick (moving) and will go for around 13 seconds because of condition durations. (Yep, I’m a full conditionmancer).
My problem is it’s not worth changing Earth to Torment in my scepter (except if the bleed stack always caps). I think I’ll just put this in my staff (replacing Geomancy), the cooldown is long enough anyway.
Only 200 AoE? I thought it would be like 300.
Now that I computed the output damage for my conditionmancer, this is way inferior to Sigil of Fire (for power types), even with condition duration.
Only 2.6k for me for the total duration and that is when the enemy is moving. Fire blast will do more damage and also on shorter cooldown. CD should be the same as Earth (2sec) before this becomes effective. Also a bit higher chance of triggering.
This will only be useful to add more condition so that your enemy will have a harder time cleansing the conditions, but necromancers already have a lot of other conditions for that purpose.
I started with MM on early levels then slowly shifted my build to condition damage. From all my characters my necro was the easiest to level with.
If you use Epidemic frequently, you don’t even need to hit the others aside from your main target.
This is the combo I’m using:
Scepter 2 > Dagger 5 > Epidemic (for weaker enemies)
Scepter 2 > Dagger 5 > Blood Is Power > Dagger 4 > Epidemic (for tougher enemies)
Scepter 2 > Dagger 5 > Blood Is Power > Dagger 4 > Epidemic > Staff 2 > Staff 3 > Staff 4 > Staff 5 > DS 5 > DS 3 > DS 4 (for Veterans or the mob overpowers you)
Blood is Power helps a lot since it’s 10 stacks of might (more direct and condition damage). Really helpful if the battle will take a bit long.
I use Staff whenever my main weapon’s on cooldown. Remember that Staff acts more of a Utility weapon than your main offensive weapon. Also, don’t forget to keep using Scepter 3 whenever it’s on cooldown. You will need it for your DS.
Good thing about necro is you have a lot of AoE skills to choose from and most of them only have very short cooldown. You will rarely use up all your AoE skills and if it did, some of your skills have already cooled down for you to use again.
I used Carrion set before. (I’m not sure if Rabid set is available for low level). Carrion has a bit of power so it’ll help a bit on 1v1.
Oh and you have your Flesh Golem to take some damage for you. It’s really easy to be a necro.

Sigil of the same trigger type will not stack.
I guess the new sigil is better against a larger group. I hope they decrease the cd by a bit. Bleed is still superior to Torment as it’s easier to stack.
7/10 – Yep, looks more like a mesmer but I like the mix of pink and black.
Here’s mine. I’ve changed her style so that she shows more skin. I planned to use Deathly Mantle skin but the cheap Stately shoulders looks more fitting, in my opinion.
This is my warrior Malphas Bloodclaw.
I’m using 2 sets
- Zerker PVE
- Hammer WvW

What runes are you using? I only saw 3 runes of afflicted (or I missed the other three).
Thanks again Nemesis!
