Decided to check out this metabattle thing:
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Staff_Farmer
Really? People have a build for something as specific as zerg farming? I get the idea of swapping to a staff when the opportunity arises but how often does zerg farming happen to justify actually having a build for it? It’s weird this is actually a thing. Makes me wonder what other very specific builds exist there and how useful the site is.
It’s as usefull as the community makes it, I might be wrong though because it’s a WIKI after all…
Same build is found in Obals Guardian PvE guide-thread, which I’m sure you have read through carefully. Do you question him now too for adding it there?
Thumbs up!
I like my lootstick build more. Maybe I should make my own website.
No need for that, Metabattle is a Wiki which means that you can contribute and edit the content there. Btw, it would be funny to see how you would manage to keep every possible gamemode updated for every profession.
I complained about the existence of such a build on a website meant to promote good builds, but the kitten mods there are (somehow) worse than these forums. The people in charge there have no clue what to do with the PvE builds, and any attempts to critisize them or complain that they’re categorized get largely ignored. The mods completely control the categorization of what goes where, regardless of how many votes things get, even though the wiki is supposed to encourage people voting and contributing. The setup is a bit of a sham.
1. Most of the PvE dungeon builds are based on DnT I believe (we do not have PvE admin), maybe you could join and show us your PvE expertises?
2. Maybe you should stop critisize on the forums and instead post on the sites discussion page? Help me find one discussion that wasn’t noted on the website, I dare you.
3. We control the categorization because code can’t do it, after the votin phase is finished. Tip: Learn how something works before you talk kitten.

All I see is a leaderboard, nothing indicating who is on whose team.
Don’t understand what you’re asking for.
Also, why do u use external link to post an image, you can post images straight from your computer using the forums, just like I did.
Thats my team, the 5th guy left before I got the chance to check his rank. I got matched up with ppl that had no clue what to do and I’m asking if someone could explain how this matchup even occured with 4 ppl having percentage rank and if is this normal?
Just had this ranked game: http://i.gyazo.com/62fb7c75410aeee80cbe7082b8a8becd.png
5th person is missing, he left after 200 points.
We lost 500-100, or less.
Could someone explain the logic behind this matchup?

MetaBattle is back with yet another guide: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Guide:How_to_be_a_successful_PUG
A big thanks to Billaboong for writing it! Feel free to register and edit typos/grammar mistakes if you find any.
To OP: your site http://metabattle.com/ is not responding or rather takes minutes to load. Does that mean I have to look somewhere else if I liked the old GW1 build site?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m desperately looking for a site like yours (PvXwiki for GW2).
I would be glad to help with programming and/or donating some money for the server infrastructure.
I have moved the website to a brand new server, there shouldn’t be any downtime now. You will however need to wait up to 48h for the DNS records to update until you can access the new server, there will be a big red message if you are still on the old website.
Also, thanks for being generous but everything should be sorted out within a few hours
Hey!
Just a quick update from MetaBattle, we are now offering unique PvE/WvW/PvP guides which you guys can access at any time. This is a work in progress which means that the collection is small right now, you are however free to register and contribute to the wiki! A big thanks to whoever contributed to the existing guides on the wiki, especially Hanz and Billaboong.

um, not to be rude, but you’re kind of spamming the same message by posting it in every thread that could be considered a build work shop.
And some of your info is just plain wrong.
Under the standard power necro build for pvp, it uses Axe/Focus as weapons (along with staff). Is that a joke? I don’t want new players to be deluded into running things that don’t work just because you’re shamelessly promoting your website, which although is a good idea, needs some serious Quality Checks.
Like I said in the other post, feel free to join the discussions on the wiki website so that changes can be made to the things that aren’t pleasing you, we would need those “serious quality checks” by you. As for now, I choose to trust one of the top PvP guys at Metabattle that worked kitten providing those necro builds.
To the 3 haters, you know who you are, feel free to join the website, IT’S A WIKI FOR A REASON. Join the discussions so that changes can be made or choose to hate here without any benefits…

I like it but traits should show their functionality when you hover your mouse over them, I mean it would be comfortable :d
One of the admins is working on that atm, will be announced when it’s completed
This site is laughable in the sPvP aspect. Doesn’t have D/P thief as meta even though it’s on the same level and has no ranger builds in meta or great. While rangers may not be the best atm they still have a meta too lol. They even put spirit ranger on the same level as power and traps. Spirits are at leat on great tier if you refuse to put it on meta. Other classes have the same problems too
Feel free to join the discussions on the website if you think that something is wrong.
Just wanted to tell you guys that the website has grown a lot, feel free to check out the new features and builds that we have added over the last few days.
Quick update from one of the PvP admins:
- In general, there is no need to freak out about that someone edited their build drastically – they are rare and major changes should be discussed before they are made, otherwise the author can just request a rollback and we can do that with 1 click.
- We only posted the builds that would get at least to the “Good” category, that’s why we have like 5-6 engineer builds but no turrets – while they are easy to play and it’s certainly faceroll, every single engineer build outperforms it. In a teamfight turrets won’t be up for more than 5 seconds and then the engi just becomes useless, and in a 1v1 a D/D ele or a warrior can just demolish it along with the engi. It’s really easy to counter with many classes and we weren’t confident that it would hit 4 stars. You are however free to submit that build on your own if you believe that it will receive better rating.
- Nobody said AH bunker’s better, both AH and “Traditional” bunker are under the Great category – but AH happens to be the meta with the majority of the teams taking it over the other. AH has more self sustain especially vs Power specs while the “Traditional” has less healing but more condi cleansing + anti-CC.
Hey!
I just wanted to inform you guys that we are a small group of people trying to rebuild the old PvXwiki, in this case for GW2.
Website: http://metabattle.com/
Feel free to drop by and check out the builds. We would love to get more people aboard and help us out, especially with the PvE/WvW sections.
If the wiki format is hard to understand which limits you from contribution, you can always help by adding a link to the wiki in your forum signature, guild website and in game guild message of the day. Other thank that, feel free to check it out!
The website is pretty new and everything isn’t perfect atm, we are however learning from our mistakes and improving the website constantly.
Take a look here mate: http://metabattle.com/
Check out http://metabattle.com, you will find PvP builds there.

Hey!
Over the last 7 days a few of us have been trying to recreate the old PvXwiki and collect all GW2 builds at one place(Metabattle), we are finished with the PvP section and here is a list of the builds:
Meta PvP builds: http://metabattle.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Meta_Conquest_Builds
Great PvP builds: http://metabattle.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Great_Conquest_Builds
Good PvP builds: http://metabattle.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Good_Conquest_Builds
If you would like to help out with the wiki, you are free to create an account and contribute whenever you want to. We would love if we could get some extra help with the PvE/WvW sections.

i liked the old one more – it was simple and everyone saw when site pops up how it works
now i clicked a bit in this wiki thinige and could bot find any build
you shoudl change it back to the old one – it was perfect and maby make a button somewhere for “Add builds” to go on this wiki thing
and best on old one was it show only the best builds^^ not like all this other build websites where all clowns can post builds and noone find ever the right thing
Most of the builds are in the “Trial” section, this is where they are being discussed. They will later be moved to the “Testing” section where people can rate the build and thereafter it will be moved to Meta/Great/Good based on it’s rating. Clawn builds will most likely get a bad rating and won’t be shown on the website after the testing phase.
We have updated the website to a wiki based website where you guys can help by editing and submitting new builds, check it out!
I am glad to introduce you to the new Guild Wars 2 build wiki that will hopefully fulfill the same purpose as the old PvXwiki did.
New build wiki: http://metabattle.com/
If you remember I worked on the meta builds website capped metabattle, you can take a look at it here: http://metabattle.com/old/
Most of you liked the idea but it didn’t feel like the old PvX wiki. Some of you wanted that back, others wanted to help by adding/editing builds etc. Those are some of the reasons why I decided to recreate the old PvXwiki for Guild Wars 2. I spent a lot of time on it since it was my first time working with a MediaWiki based script.
Here is a list of what you can do on the current Guild Wars 2 build wiki:
- Edit and create new builds
- Write guides for each build, skill variants, video guides and counters
- Discuss current builds and rate them
To make this possible we will need help from you guys. Feel free to check out the website, edit and add content so that we can bring back a small part of the old Guild Wars to Guild Wars 2.
There are currently 2 admins, we will need more in the future which means that we will be recruiting admins pretty soon based on the work that needs to be done.
EDIT1: Since we have a “Video Guides” section feel free to add your Youtube video if you are using that build/something similar to it.
