Hmm…. I’ll post these in my order from least favorite to most favorite I think.
Hoelbrak |=| Huge, absolutely huge, and while I understand this from near giants living there, it’s such a major pain to run through to map quickly when you just want to get it over with. Cold in look, cold in feel, and frustrating to deal with around the main merchant/bank area, it’s so kitten spread out I can’t remember where I’ve been and where I’m going.
Black Citadel |=| A maze. A kitten maze. Its twisting, turning inner areas are laid out on top of each other and I really have no idea what to make of it sometimes. Sometimes I can’t even find my way up to the higher area because I easily get turned around. This being a personal thing, I’m awful at direction and obvious paths. Regardless, I dislike it for that, and for the utter industrial feel. Maybe it’s my empathy toward Sylvian race, but the lack of life and the cold, mechanical running of the whole place makes me feel isolated and leaves me wanting to escape as quickly as possible.
Rata Sum |=| It feels so overcrowded, and mapping, while easy enough, can feel clunky because you tend to use gates to get to further off areas like the quay, idea incubation lab and such. The vista you have to jump to below the city is a pain because you have to rely on a WP to get back to it without falling to your possible death. It can be easy to get a bit turned around here and there, too.
Lion’s Arch |=| I have a feeling if I’d have been in the game before the city fell to ruin it’d be so much easier to map. It’s easy to map, for me, yes, but I don’t know if it’d be easier if it were repaired or not (and I hope to god in some later installment it’ll be repaired, because I’m tired of looking at those kitten ed ruins). Regardless, I have relative amounts of fun with it, though some of the vistas are hard to pinpoint exactly. And on my first run, I couldn’t find several because they were so completely out of the way I had to Google the way to get there. That constantly-contested WP that isn’t supposed to be there is a bugger to me too, and I’d love to see it gone someday or at LEAST repaired. And some of the merchants are a bit hard to get to.
Divinity’s Reach |=| I like DR. I used to hate it. It seemed to be laid out in a maze and finding your way around, let alone mapping, was a chore, until I took my time to begin exploring with more diversity. The elevators can be a little confusing to me if I don’t use the same ones to get to certain places, and the royal gardens area feels so much more suited for lower levels, rather than some higher place above the city. That in itself does confuse me from time to time, but I love its look. The city overall is a relatively okay circle you can run pretty well when you’ve gotten its direction down, which can take time.
The Grove |=| It’s a beautiful city, the Grove. Unless you’re from there initially, using Sylvari race, one can, while mapping, forget to get the vista, poi, and WP that leads out to Caledon. Getting to a vista above the lowest level of the Grove is a bit odd, because of its location. I’m never sure which WP to click, though, because they’re virtually on top of each other and I’ll click a few times until I figure out which level I’m supposed to be on. The spiraling pathways can be a little impractical to me, too, because it seems there are a few that lead to totally different areas and I tend to get lost, even though I’ve basically lived there for a while.
And since I’m too lazy to go back and find all the ‘curse’ words they changed to ‘kitten’, I’m just going to say
kitten kitten kitten kitten .
Also, all the ‘curses’ start with D and in with N.

I always have stupid reasons for disliking things!
Humans |=| Boring, to me, plain and simple. Of my twelve or so characters, one is human. Their story bores me, their concepts are based too close to real humans despite the origins of their wars and conflicts, which also reminds me of reality, and some of their faces look either flat or too squared off. Besides, being human myself (shocking I know), playing as one just doesn’t do it for me. I want to feel other cultures that would be alien to me otherwise, not just Medieval-style world with fantasy-based enemies on the other side of a war.
Norn |=| Also boring. They’re big, they’re furry, they remind me of bears (not the animals, Google if necessary), and they feel clunky. I know they run the same pace as the other races but their animation makes it look slow and silly. Their ‘Great Hunt’ is pretty much a rodeo, trapping an animal and killing it with no real ‘hunting’ involved. They’re basically big drunk frat boys and I’ve never liked that, really. Their spirituality is really nice, I do enjoy that, but it’s overshadowed by the rest, in my eyes. Also, cold. Too cold. Their world is practically frozen, and it makes me feel cold when characters in light armor run around in ten feet of snow.
Asura |=| Their personal stories tire me. I’d rather speed through them so I can get it over with. I do try to understand the deeper concepts behind their works and writing with Asura can be so difficult. I also hate one ear style, because it looks weird to me, for some reason… Their little claw hands/feet are slightly unnerving and don’t even get me started on their teeth. I call them “sharkrats” for a reason.
Sylvari |=| Their idle animation just screams ‘socially awkward in every situation’. Nervously rubbing their head, or looking around and up with a far-off expression, it bugs me. That, and their sleep/sit/kneel emotes are identical to humans, I feel like they should be at least SLIGHTLY different, regardless of whether they have the same body type/look. The mushroom cap head reminds me of a… … well considering they replace ‘swears’ with different words I’m going to say ‘personal device’, and looks bad to me, overall. And I hate the fact that you’re forced to take up the role of Dreamer in the story, at least continuously. It’d be nice to see things from a Nightmare point of view, because personally, I feel like they both have good reasons for each side’s existence.
Charr |=| Giant cats. I love cats. I don’t love Charr. Maybe because they’re war-obsessed, maybe because they’re brash and can be massive kittens, maybe because they have horns. I can’t play male Charr because it looks so bad to me, and the females look much better, giving you a chance to do more with their look and give better armor a better platform. I also HATE the Black Citadel. I get lost ten times over trying to map that place and forget Plains of Ashford and the Plateau, I hate them for reasons I can’t even understand myself. Maybe because the ghosts are ridiculously prominent and I hate having to fight them off when they cripple me and I can’t outrun them.
So those are my reasons. Some stupid, some not~

I’m a relatively avid RP type in Guild Wars, and it can be a bit difficult to find good, quiet places to act out scenes without overlapping or bothering anyone that might be halfway across the map at any given time. I’ve been considering whether there may be a way to drastically shorten the range of graytext, emotes both set and custom, to within the range that anything in /say might travel.
It’ll also cut down on emote spam such as sit, sleep, dance, and the rest that might be frustrating to both RPers and regulars that don’t like to turn off emotes or don’t really want to, but are also holding conversations in their guild, party, or /say that are drowned out via emote spam.
I’m sure it’d cut down game-wide frustrations, unless this has already been proposed.
I’m sorry for posting again, but the first number was wrong
#982637 is the number of the last ticket sent and the first number would have directed you to the email he no longer has access to. He and I would be happy if you would close the previous tickets and focus only on the number I just posted, because it leads to the correct email.
He says he doesn’t mind waiting for longer because of the mix-up, and we apologize for making that mistake.

Thank you very much, I noticed we got a response and acknowledgement. I’m happy to see it and I’ve let my friend know, I have no doubt he’ll be glad to know of an update too.
I’ve already done that, and in no area did I say that the email he currently uses blocks Anet’s emails. He’s gotten confirmation that the ticket has been created and the extras have been retracted, so Anet’s current emails have not been blocked, spammed, or in any way taken a wrong turn in getting to him.
Well, I’ve remedied the wording in several areas so there should be no more concern whether I was referring to the change in ISP being the issue or not. I never said I was blaming Anet for the issues, though.
And considering another friend’s issue with the game, in which he never got a response from Anet at all and had to restart the game from scratch, I have to be a bit wary with their support system until they prove they don’t make a habit of doing it.
#975790
A friend of mine has a problem with his Email, in which it was hacked and he has no way to get into it. His IP address recently changed and he can’t get into his old email to authenticate.
He did send duplicates without realizing they pushed to the back of the queue, but has retracted several of them already.
Alright, he’ll do that. Thank you so far, you’ve been a better help than most as it currently stands.
Alright, I’ll advise him to close down some tickets, but can I ask how, exactly, one does this? Neither of us are sure.
A dear friend of mine has had a problem with his email, and as such, with his game. Since getting a new Internet connection from his providor, his IP address has changed and he has to authenticate his new IP through email, but unfortunately, he no longer has access to that email due to apparent hacking attempts, and his information is so outdated it can’t be gathered because it can’t be recalled.
His username is NekoLen.9753
He has currently sent up to five ticket reports regarding the issue:
Request Number #975790
Request Number #977138
Request Number #979967
Request Number #982637
It’s been nearing four days, so this means he’s sent one request per day to fix this very simple issue. I understand that it’s a large game, and currently there is a Halloween event going on, but I also understand that several of our friends got replies to more complex issues within the day, sometimes within the hour of sending their requests.
It’s getting tiresome to have to wait for this issue to be fixed, when identical problems like this have been fixed very simply in the past for many other people. He’s told me he’ll submit a report a day until he gets a reply, which shouldn’t be an issue in the first place, even with an event currently going on.
An Edit: He has retracted several of his tickets to lessen the number and will wait for a logical amount of time.
