How long is this going to go on for, will it be less than 24hrs? I’ve just deleted a character and now can’t remake it using the same name. I don’t want to lose the name.
In LA folks were chatting about hearing of people abusing it to get extra laurels for T6 mats. Folks doing that kind of thing must know they are exploiting a bug…
Or, they’re just abiding by ANet’s mantra from the launch of the game and ‘Playing Their Way’.
It looks like just another poorly thought out, poorly implemented and poorly tested zerg rush to me.
I find it rather very funny.
I’d love to see how long these people who’re cryingg about an innocent little prank would last in EVE Online.
It’s not just Charr and outfits, it’s nearly everything in the game. My Norn’s sword is half buried in the ground when he runs with it sheathed. If we’re dual-wielding, then why we can’t carry two weapons crossed over on our backs is beyond me. And don’t get me started on the amount of clipping on armours with weapons, and the characters hair, poking through everywhere.
For a AAA game the amount of clipping is shocking, and it’s made even worse by ANet’s refusal to even answer any queries about it, let alone getting around to fixing it.
Why does everything in this game suffer from absolutely dreadful clipping? It really ruins the looks of some pretty decent skins. Why will ANet not sort it out?
Putting restrictions on free accounts doesn’t matter one iota, every game that has gone F2P instantly becomes overrun with shouty little children, angsty, angry teenagers and bots.
This is the death knell for GW2.
If Blizzard, and many other companies, can upgrade their game engines to use DX11 then there’s no reason why ANet can’t either. I’d also like them to fix it so the game isn’t so CPU dependent too and to take advantage of the power of our GPUs.
So is there any indication as to when the AI of the Flesh Golem is going to be fixed? As it stands this so-called Elite skill is pretty much useless because the thing just stands there and doesn’t attack. Once again I find myself asking how this managed to get past the QA testers?
I did search to see if it had been mentioned before, but nothing came up.
I think I went up a couple fps. Only odd thing I’ve noticed is a weird scratch noise that happens when I launch the game.
Just before the character selection screen appears? I get that too, but it’s only from the left front speaker.
Do people really not know that sepia-tone is a trope to indicate ‘in the past’ anymore?
That’s really sad, honestly.
Yes I do what a sepia tone means, but I’m running with everything turned up to maximum and there was no sepia tone for me. The place was just normal colours.
The sepia tone disappears as soon as you switch off post processing, so I doubt you are running with everything on max (which I understand since post processing looks terrible in some places).
I’m confused as to why you think I’m lying about running everything maxed out, my PC is more than capable of giving me a constant 60fps at maximum settings. Just to see if it had somehow become switched off due to a patch or something I’ve just checked in game. Post processing is set to ‘High’. Everything else is still maxed out too.

I’ve just gone through ‘Setting the Stage’ and ‘Stealing Secrets’ with a new Mesmer character I’m levelling up and was shocked to see that Lion’s Arch is completely unchanged in these missions. Are we supposed to believe that our character has somehow stepped back in time or something?
How could this have be missed by the QA?
Given the insane amount of clipping already present in this game, I can’t believe that they’d have the nerve to cite ‘clipping issues’ as an excuse not to include guild capes.
these are supposed to be miniatures, and that something that large and long is getting obstructive.
They are miniatures though, miniatures of far larger creatures.
Are these patches not tested before being made live?
It’s such a poor choice. The warhorn even looks stupid when it’s ‘sheathed’. I was so hoping for the sword, the FDS skin would be epic.
Hell yeah I do.
EVE Online is a subscription based game. yet I haven’t paid for a sub. in real money for ages now.
This would be a good idea. I’d also like to see the Ranger’s ‘stow pet’ button to be changed into a simple On/Off toggle.
Try playing as a Human Mesmer! I swear, hearing “I can outrun a Centaaaaar” every ten seconds makes you want to punch the kittening monitor.

Sorry for the late reply, real life and all that.
I’ve just installed SweetFX and grabbed a nice profile. Wow, what a difference it is to that blurry FXAA available in the game’s options. Makes me sad that I didn’t hear about this ages ago. Also makes me sad that ANet didn’t think it wise to include a decent form of AA fin the game from the start.
Thanks.
That’s exactly how I’ve done it, the same as I do for all my games.
Any of my other games look bang on with that setting, but not GW2. I still have jaggies on armour, weapons and scenery. Why is this?
Please don’t say ue the in game FXAA option, as that looks like someone has smeared Vaseline all over the screen.
Seeing as how we all have our unique account name/number (Tachyon.5897) I fail to see why the same name can’t be linked to multiple accounts. A name is hardly unique, hell, in real life my best mate works with a guy with the exact same name as his.
I love how the entire contingent of Destiny’s Edge and the entire combined armed forces of Tyria just stand around doing sweet-FA but watching you do everything alone?
Need to block giant’s attacks, keep to an eye out for undead and defeat any incursions? OK, you do that whilst we’ll just chill here inside the airship out of harm’s way.
Have to kill Zhaitan with the Glory of Tyria’s vast gun batteries? That’s OK, I’m sure you alone can sprint up and down the entire length of the ship while we and the gunners just watch you.
The title and description is exactly the same, so there’s no reason why they shouldn’t stack. This needs sorting.
I had two experience scrolls already in my bank, I’ve just passed 10,000AP and got another. This new one will not stack with the other two. It’s the same for boosters too, new ones will not stack with the old.
I’ve tried map hopping, but that doesn’t seem to work anymore.
Why is it that the rest of the pact members just stand around inside the airship and let me sort out any undead on my own? Then, on the ‘Glory of Tyria’, loads of troops are shown yet when it comes to the final battle it’s back to just me manning all the guns on my own? Why does anybody else not do any fighting of any kind? supposed to fears
Why is this? Who thought this a good idea?

Would be nice if they ditched the ancient DX9.
Same, build diversity has gone down. Traits seem forced now. Classes are now weaker(except mesmer) in solo play than what they were pre-patch, but large group DPS has gone up significantly due to the new condition caps. Everything just feels so bland now. It’s more group play oriented with less accountability for individual skill. I have no desire to play at the moment.
This is exactly how I feel.
“Play your way!” I guess ANet have forgotten that little mantra that they used to sell the game.
Guild Wars 2, I believe the much vaunted mantra was “Play Your Way”.
Yeah right!
You aren’t paying $50 dollars for the core game, you’re paying $50 dollars for the expansion, which is completely reasonable.
Reasonable? It’s an expansion that you can’t actually make full use of unless you a.) pony up another £10 for a character slot or b.) delete a character that you’ve spent the last three years building up so can create the expansion’s much vaunted new Revenant class.
I know. I don’t what whomever thought that idea up was thinking when they put that idea to paper, but it’s beyond ridiculous. What I’d do is this. If the expansion key is linked to an already existing account then the free copy of the core GW is be replaced with a couple of character slots.
£35 for an expansion featuring a much vaunted new class. A class that you can’t actually play unless you hand them another £10 on top of the expansion’s £35.
Including a character slot isn’t that much to ask. is it?
Character Slot for Heart of Thorns? [Merged]

So they expect you to stump up £35 for an expansion pack with a new character class that you can’t even play unless you hand them another £10 or so for a character slot?
Way to alienate and flip the bird to your loyal players ANet.

This has been broken since day one and I’m sick and tired of hitting TAB to ‘Target Next Enemy’, as the description states, only to have it target a yellow creature, a friendly NPC or some inanimate object like a chest, weapons rack or a barrel.
Surely it can’t be that difficult to have this work as intended.
Foxfire
Doubloons
Blade Shardsto Material Storage
Geodes
Bandit Crestto Account-Wallet pls!
You can add Mystic Clovers, Vision Crystals, Gifts of XXXXX and any other materials required for crafting that don’t have their own material storage slot to that list too.
What really kittens me off about knockbacks in PvE is the fact that an enemy can knock you back off a drop (usually leading to either a.) your death or b.) a long run to get back up high again (Dry Top map for instance)), yet you’re unable to do the same. The enemy just stops at the drop.
I want to stack them in my bank, I don’t want to be paying waypoint costs to go gallivanting off around different maps to stack them.
I have a stack of 72 Scrolls of Knowledge sitting in my bank, today I get another one drop from a boss. I go to stack it with the rest and it won’t stack.
but WvWer go to PVE for traits
True, but look on the bright side. At least you won’t have a bunch of people constantly trying to kill you as you try to get your traits. That’s what PvE players had to endure if they wanted World Completion.
The good thing is, there are so many people reporting bugs in the forum, I guess with the next update they’ll all get fixed. So… no problem for me at all, just keep reporting the bugs in the forum and you will be heard! :P
That may be so, but the sheer amount of bugs present in this patch makes the whole ‘the 10/3 patch is delayed for QA testing’ spiel laughable.
they probably accidently increased the radius in which you can hear other players voices…
i can hear WvW players yelling “Stand your Ground” and “For Great Justic” etc over the whole wvw map…
I doubt that’s it. I was alone in the Dark Reverie JP and was being constantly haunted by the shouts of a female human character.
Same here. I was playing my Elementalist (female human) a few minutes back and all I could here was random female human shouts for other classes. I was alone in the Dark Reverie JP at the time too.
This patch was delayed for QA testing, so it really makes me wonder just what the QA testers were doing during this time. Because, given the amount of pretty huge ‘staring you right in the face’ style bugs, they obviously weren’t testing the patches’ content for bugs.

This patch was delayed for QA testing, surely the question has to be how did they manage to miss such a major bug?
