Guild Wars 2

I really like the military background. Especially in the early stories it really hangs everything together. And I am not a big military fan-boy in real life. But it works, and it makes the stories really coherent.

I didn’t expect to the like them, I made my Charr character last. But so much fun. The blood final mission in particular is really well done.

That’s true of the Iron Legion, too. It’s only really the Blood Legion that buys into “macho BS,” but that’s due to Blood having the most stringent militaristic structure. If you look at most modern military institutions, especially from recent history, you’ll find a hell of a lot of that “maco BS.”

But yes, Iron and Ash are both varying leagues of progressive (Iron being mostly so), and as such that aforementioned “macho BS” isn’t an aspect of their culture. They’re much more easygoing.

Well, let’s just say a certain arena fight struck me as extreme. I’m quite enjoying Ash w/shaman father, haven’t gone very far in Iron at all. That said, the Blood Legion fight at the end of the first story arc made the Blood storyline worth it all alone.

They torture, a lot. In certain respects they’re the most evil of the renegade factions (the Sons of Svanir are probably second, but are evil in a different way: because they serve a Dragon.).

I have everything, I left Charr till last because of lingering bad feelings from GW1, but found I really enjoy them. The military setting leads for a very coherent story. I always know what I’m doing and why. The macho BS can be a bit tiring, bu I find if you’re Ash legion, that’s kept to a minimum.

Ash, ranger. Bit cats sneaking around. And Blood (which I’ve played also and is fun) just seemed too stereotpyical.

But I have to say the end of the Blood Legion line, the assault, is really really fun.

pistol/dagger rogues might be the best kiters in the game (might, I haven’t played all, let alone to high level). OTOH, I prefer daggers on my rogue for the insane damage/bleeding.

Consider just putting it back to karma. Really. It’s easy to farm karma, but getting butter when I need totems and so on is a real pain. I do have a chef, and I have more butter than I know what to do with.

Yup, same deal. Coming up all the time. More likely to be first lines than later ones, but only more likely. This is supremely annoying, I have 15 character slots so I can experience all the stories and in many cases half the lines are missing.
