The real funny thing about all of the “this is taken from WoW” claims thats all over the MMO community… nearly every “innovative new feature” in WoW was taken from other games.

Features people associate with WoW that were not originally introduced by WoW.

Armor Skinning (Transmogrification)
Mounts
Flight Paths/Fast Travel Networks
Raids
Tank/Healer/DPS
Challenge Mode
Faction based PvP
Built-in Voice Chat
Server-wide Chat
Auction House
Guild Perks
& MORE

All of those originated on other MMOs that were either older than WoW or just never got enough of a following to really get anywhere… a few of those features even came from successful newer MMOs. And many of those MMOs borrowed the feature from entirely different genres of games even.

Am I reading the skill incorrectly, or will Alacrity now have a stacking system? Will it apply to x next skills or stack in intensity?

I think in the balance update before last the devs said they wanted to improve Mantras.

With all the GW1 nostalgia lately, they should give us a vampire beast pet with close range lifesteal.

My half Elonan half Krytan Mesmer looked good before. Now he looks amaaaazing. I kept the older dreads, they are too established in RP, but the face detailing is so much better for him.

Even though I’m overflowing with humans, looks like my new level 80 boost is going to an Elonan Ranger since I only have one Ranger right now (a Norn) and I like her as a Druid; she’s geared as one, too. Male or female, hmm … the male faces have so much range, but female medium armor is generally niftier. And that female ’fro is beyond glorious, even if I am sure almost every new Elonan female will be rocking it.

Whatever I choose, I am excite!

I can’t wait to get off work so I can redo my Elonian Necro.

Sorry for being a bit off topic, but are there any good guides for purchasing or building a cost effective GW2 machine? I struggle to get over 30 fps during combat and would like to enjoy PoF to its fullest. Thank you.

This is just insane to me. For years these forums have had numerous threads asking about mounts. Now we get them and 50% of what I see is people whining “but muh generic mmo” as if adding a single feature suddenly makes GW2 a WoW clone.
If you’re going to say that “it makes the game a cookie cutter mmo” then you aren’t actually critiquing what Anet is doing. All you have managed to say is that other games successfully implement idea X and that therefore somehow X is bad.

Maybe those 50 percent who are against it weren’t the same people who were for it. :P

I would also like to know more about this item. It’s my deciding factor between Standard and Deluxe.
