Fractal Friday!

New to fractals? Wondering what it is all about? Looking to get to Fractal level 50? We have groups for them all. We are currently looking for more for a third progression group!

We have people interested in all aspects of the game whether crafting, PvP, WvWvW, Dungeons, World exploration, and then those crazy folk who like jumping puzzles.

Some of my favorite times in GW2 are running lower-level characters through higher-level zones. Last night took a level 40 to do the Skipping Stones jumping puzzle! Can’t wait until we start doing dungeons and puzzles and things Falunel!

I have had the pleasure of doing many aspects of GW2 with Falunel, and she is a wonderful resource of just about all things GW2, and a truly phenomenal person too!

Now everyone knows that Remnants accepts Charr!

(It’s a good thing! We are so very cuddly!)

Mesmers use sword/sword decently enough. Sword skill 1 and 2 are great (1 provides vulnerability and rips off boons on the third attack, and 2 is an evasion and strong damage.) Sword ability 3 is great for catching runners!

In the offhand ability 4 is a block with decent damage when it does block an attack, and 5 is a nice phantasm.

I concur with everything that everyone has said!

Guild Wars 2 is more of a fluid game. In WoW a lot quests would start, and then stop. Some would have further quests afterwards that would advance the story. Guild Wars 2 allows some insight into more than the “be a hero” campaign.

In just the personal story alone there are some difficult choices, and I can tell you that they are not all happy ones. I have one character that I am very reluctant to advance his personal story because in the process of helping out a guildmate I found out something that I do not want that character to go through. At times the stories have weight here, and I became invested in them.

Many of the other “quests” (aka hearts!) are similar. You spend time increasing the morale of the troops and citizens of the town, out in the fields you help rescue the wounded, and then you have the events that pop up where you go to secure strongholds. Yes you can lose strongholds here, and you have to take them back.

Some servers are a little less populated. On Anvil Rock I felt like I was playing a solo game most of the time. I moved to a different server (for the sake of a great guild) and I am always running into people. A great guild is a wonderful resource in experiencing the game in a good way.

I can also say that the community as a whole of Guild Wars 2 is more about teamwork and helping. People help each other out more here than I have seen in other games.

The game is also a little more casual. You can easily hop in for 30 minutes and get things done. Whether that is quests or exploration, crafting, or such things as jumping puzzles or finding those diving locations…there is a wide variety of things to do.

There is no trinity here and combat is dynamic. There are no set healers and tanks. You can change your traits and gear around to be more tanky or healy, but you are not locked in a specific role. Different weapons change entire playstyles more so than WoW when it was Mortal Strike/Fury/Protection for warriors. Each playstyle is valuable, and skill is greater than gear. Even legendary weapons (which have fantastic skins) are not too much stronger than relatively easily gained exotic gear. Let’s not forget about dodging…it is an important aspect of the game. Positioning matters moreso than “don’t step on these squares”, “hide behind pillars”, or things of the sort. Combat is fluid and changing. Even when you get fight dynamics down it takes a long while to get stale.

Each class has a vastly different feel, approach to combat, and general dynamics.

One thing that I really enjoy about Guild Wars 2 is that it’s a more open sandboxy game. Whereas games like SW:TOR really guide you where to go, this game gives you some ideas, but lets you go where you want. Want to keep fighting against the Nightmare court?…you can. Or you can go fight Jormag!

We had three groups in the new Live Story event last night! It was a blast! We are building up some progression groups for fractals, and doing dungeons every night! We had a fun time in Arah Path 4 too (Lupy down on first try wooo!)

Remnants of Hope is an active medium sized guild of people of all ages.

I know that we have some U2 fans, but I will have to check on the Bears.

We are most active in the evenings, and have regular events as well as scheduled dungeons, random dungeons, leveling groups, waypoints, and guild missions as well as many other things such as PvP, RP, and our forums. We are more than just active in the game, as we have vibrant forums for all of our games, as well as a social forums for weekly riddle contests, caption the picture contests, and others.

We focus on community, and people first. There are people of all walks of life in our group, as well as all levels of play. We really seek to get together and have fun, but we want people to put their lives outside of the game first.

I am a casual gamer myself (it took me forever to get my mesmer to lvl 46), and I was looking for a close-knit community to be a part of. I stumbled across a recruitment thread for Remnants of Hope, and have had a wonderful time.

Remnants is a guild focused on community, and the people behind the avatars first. We are active in game with events for all aspects of PvE (including live story events, jumping puzzles, Fractals of the Mists, dungeons both spontaneous and pre-formed groups, guild missions, and others), Roleplay, WvW, and PvP.

The focus is on having fun, and not on ability. We seek mature members who have active lives, and like to enjoy all that GW2 offers. Our community also extends to other games as well with established divisions for SW TOR, and FFXIV, as well as other games.

You can also check out our previous months’ events to see our level of pre-scheduled activity. We also run pre-formed dungeon groups where members post their availability on a spreadsheet with what dungeons that they would like to run, and then a group is selected the week before for them. This helps those who are on a tight schedule to know that they have a dungeon group ready (but these are done through messages and not posted on the calendar, but we run 4-5 of them a week!)

Well we completed 3 of 4 paths, and one of those 3 another half a time due to the game update!

We had a few great events this week!

We did our weekly guild bounty, but Tricksy Trekksa eluded us twice! Luckily the other fugitives were brought to justice!

We completed another guild puzzle…just look at the size of that chest! (Picture below!)

We also had another rousing success with spider scurry and everyone made it through!

A few of us also knocked off a good chunk of the Blood and Madness! achievements last night.

Guild missions yesterday, Team PvP and Fractals tonight, and some spontaneous dungeon groups! Now story time! Always something to be doing!

How are you liking GuildWars 2? I love the dynamic events and how everything scales!

A little over a month ago I found a home in Remnants of Hope on the Tarnished Coast server. The focus there is on community, and not just in-game activities (which there are a bunch….over 100 PvE events alone last month!)

On top of our PvX, PvP, WvW, and roleplay events, we have games on our forums as well as other things such as Pictionary night!

Hi Tom! Welcome to GuildWars 2!

You have levelled pretty fast, my guardian is taking a while, but I might just be a slow leveller because I get easily distracted with all there is in the game.

A few weeks ago I was looking for a place to call home. I was looking for a group of mature people to spend time with, and I found a great home with Remnants of Hope. We are on the Tarnished Coast server. After transferring I never looked back, and have found a wonderful home.

We have people of all walks and credos, but we all get together and have a great time! If you are looking for PvE, Guild missions, PvP, WvWvW, or RP, we have people interested and active. This past Sunday we even had an Amazing Race that was run by Crystalai. It was tremendous fun.

We do have a calendar where we have scheduled events. We have less events this month as many are adjusting to school, but our August calendar shows what we did last month! We also do a lot of spontaneous groups and events as well!

I was looking for a mature guild, that focused on community. There are many guilds that focus solely on the game itself, but Remnants is one that is active in game and outside of it. We have people active at all hours, and we have many scheduled events (our August calendar and see all of the things that we had scheduled! We have a few things scheduled for this month but we are currently changing event times as a lot of people are in school mode.

We do all types of activities from PvE, PvP, WvW, RP, and social activities such as forum contests and games such as pictionary (coming this Monday!)

Remnants of Hope may be what you are looking for.

We are located on the Tarnished Coast server, and we are a medium-sized active guild. In August we had over 100 events set up, and then there were the spontaneous dungeons/pvp/role play as well. Our September Calendar has our current events. It is a little sparse as we are adjusting things to fit the new schedule that people have with schools starting up again.

Not long ago I was looking for an active guild that looked at building a community both in the game and out. Remnants of Hope is the place that I call home on the Tarnished Coast server. We focus on quality, mature people who are looking for a place to enjoy the game as well as our lives outside of the game too.

For GW2 we have a host of events that you can check out on our September calendar to see. Also check out our calendar for August to see the events we ran last month! Dungeons, fractals, WvW, SPvP, PvX, and RP…we do them all.

Not only do we have these events, we have several social threads on our forums such as weekly photo and caption contests, Name that game, twist the wish, and many others. We also have divisions in SWTOR and FFXIV if you also play those games.

We usually have a few scheduled fractal runs throughout the week as well as impromptu runs as well.

Guild chat and teamspeak always have people talking in them too. We do focus on all aspects of the game from PvX, WvWvW, SPvP, RP, and social activities in game and on our forums as well.

We also understand when real life pops up, and just ask that you post in a forum and let us know that you’ll be gone for periods greater than two weeks.

Remnants of Hope is an active, and diverse guild on Tarnished Coast. I was looking for a mature, and active guild and after transferring to TC I fell in love with this guild.

We have many events as you can see on our Events Calendar. We are involved in everything from PvE including dungeons, events, guild missions, live events as well as PvP and roleplay (forum, live events, and spontaneous.)

We have people on throughout the day, but many are active later in the evening (and sometimes we get wrapped up and are on until past 3am EST!)

We have people from pretty much all over and from all levels of gameplay from experienced veterans to new players as well.

There are scheduled events throughout the week from PvP, to dungeons, to leveling groups, to waypoint groups, as well as live story RP. We sure do! A lot of times we stay up too late There are many that are up late EST every night.

We had a blast last night doing guild missions! Successful bounties, then rush, followed by a successful guild challenge. Then a bunch of us had fun leveling through Queensdale and beyond yawns until 3am!

Even ran into some impromptu RP!

I had the blessing of being accepted as a trial member of Remnants of Hope on Sunday, and it is a phenomenal group of people! Friendly, approachable, easy-going, creative, and knowledgeable; they are great to be around. The only downside is that I spend so much time on the forums that I’m not playing as much…but I am having the best of times!

I am a casual gamer that as the title says is in search of a casual PvE guild. Light RP works well too as well as some PvP. I tend to stay away from the large guilds and like medium size guilds, but growing close-knit groups are great too.

I am on usually a few evenings (GMT-5) during the week and weekend. My current characters are a 40’s mesmer and a 30’s engineer on the Anvil Rock server, but I am open to moving for the right group.

I am easy-going, and have a good sense of humor that is looking for a place to call home.
