I too bought the com tag a while ago, and I don’t do pve content at all anymore, sure it’s costly and all and I reckon it will take me a long time to get the backpiece. But as I only do wvw it will have to take a while, idm

Nope, also happened to me a few times.
Wait in the queue, que pops, I click travel and instantly gets put last in the queue. And if that’s on reset or prime time there will be huge queues so that’s pretty much game over for me.
Small guilds was just fine, pre-hot. But after anet decided to wipe the slate clean regarding guild upgrades. Of course after hot was introduced if you weren’t in a big guild or had almost infinite gold and materials you were and still are at a huge disadvantage.
This has not been the case for us down in bronze or whatever you want to call us down here since pre-hot, which makes it all the more apparent that the matchup system does not work.
We’ve always had a small night and morning crew but it seems even them couldn’t be bothered this time around, and I don’t blame them. Whatever infusion of pve players we had, most will likely get deterred from wvw and go back to their game mode again.
Does anyone spot the fault in this picture? Whatever morale us bronze servers had will effectively be swept away once again against the gold tier bandwagoners looking for easy pve loot bags.
I agree 100%, this week will be as lopsided as any and it´s painfully clear that anet ofc wants to profit from people transferring off this tier.
I couldnt even be bothered to play at reset, given the same linking as before and adding BT didnt really help morale for any of us. One less lootbag for them, and i predict there will be a whole lot more who can´t be bothered this week – so ty for that.
Sure, its reset and blah blah blah, but having Vabbi and relinks up against us is just gonna be pointless and toxic.
Add to that an extra juicy 300 gold for acquiring the ‘Commanders wings of war’, as you need a commander icon to obtain it. Like every scrub in wvw really need a dorito running around..
Not complaining, just a rather silly addition to the grind, as you don’t really get ‘rich’ in wvw unless super lucky or just don’t spend any gold. (And no, I don’t tend to pve farm for gold, as limited time gaming I have to choose where I spend my time).
I play wvw exclusively and tbh, these so called “rewards” are nothing more than fluff.
You get pips, sure – woopidoo.. You get “loot” which is just like it´s always been, a bag filled with more crap to fill up your inventory slots with.
No one is forcing anyone to go after the silly skins that look more or less like crap and if you´ve played wvw for a while you probably have a or a few ascended sets already through crafting and very random drops.
4+ years of gw2 and never even seen a precursor. Omg that´s so unfair! xD
Oh and i get a few more superduper rewarding “pips”, so what? Go out there and earn/rank up whatever instead of soiling the forums with your useless banter.
The Gob is easier than ever to get now and loads of people still complain it’s ‘hard’ or boring to get.
Well then, let’s go back to total wvw map completion and see how that feels, shall we?
Condi spam meta is anet streamlining the game so you don’t need any skills other than facerolling your keyboard to feel important and ‘powerful’.
I purposely avoid playing condi specs because it bores me to death, much like pve does.
Nope, no ascended for a long time and ofc no precursor for over 4 years.
Nice of anet to finally introduce ascended (without stupid rng) in wvw but tbh anyone who has spent a long time in a somewhat competitive side of wvw probably already have one or even several ascended sets. I waited until they introduced leathers as a component and it became a lot more expensive to craft them.
Been a home border defense player and roamer almost all the time I spent in wvw, getting up to 3400+ rank now and honestly have no idea how you can’t earn ranks.
Must be an immense afk/standing around dancing and whatnot or just be super casual about the whole thing. It’s not like you just stand around in one spot when scouting, then you’re doing it wrong. ;-)
I don’t get their thought process, but then again wvw is and has been on life support for a long time.
Most changes are “in pvp only”, that’s kittened. Ty for nothing, yet again.
And unfortunately a lot of people run that kind of chrono build. I’ve tried it a couple times but it bores me to death really fast as the condition spam is immense.
People have stated above most classes and what reasons for running them, it all comes down to personal preference.
After having roamed for a long time with most classes I’ve gone back to core/vanilla d/d elementalist with various gear choices. Some or most will choose celestial which still works quite good for roaming and small scale group fights.
It just feels somewhat refreshing in this condi spamming meta to run a ‘normal ’ build again. Personally I have little trouble when running solo with ele and if need be it’s easy enough to swap over to a more group oriented build.

(And no, the grass isn´t greener on the other servers). I refuse to give anet more silly gems for transferring off this server, so it´ll be dailies and then go do something else whilst this crap lasts.
I stopped doing any sort of pve content a long time ago, mostly because i literally fall asleep when facerolling it. “Rewards” in farming pve is just silly, and doesn’t pique my interest the least.
Raids doesn’t really interest me in this game, pvp is… Well, not so amusing imo.
Wvw seems to be the only slightly interesting game mode for me at the moment, although the fun of it surely has declined since Hot was released. Most of the people I used to play with have left to try and find similar games.
But I guess it’s just a matter of time now until anet completely dismantles wvw in favor for even more pve content. And yes I know that I probably sound a tad pessimistic, but that’s just how I see things.
Not sure I would call this a bug, but people are spamming the kodan tonics.
As in use/exit them over and over and that produces a lightning effect that is quite annoying (it’s like a very bright stroboscope effect) and can be considered a health risk, if you are susceptible to those kind of things.
Epilepsy comes to mind.
