Thank you all. I now have my perfect hybrid build to both support my guild and feel awesome while playing.

That you would take the time to answer two weird questions like this is a testament to the community in this game.

Thank u all so much

You’ve really helped me feel awesome and contribute. I’ve decided to go Dual Axe (for coolness, not functionality) and Shout build (since they are quicker to deploy than Banners.)

One more query and i’ll be satisfied.

It’s simply not possible to fully specc for all three, so which traits do you consider give the best benefits?

Axe Mastery or Sharpened Axes?
Dual Wield or Dual Wield Agility?
Lung Capacity or Vigorous Shouts?

If all are equally useful, then which of the three should I proritize? I wanna mainly damage (so I can solo Living Story once it happens again), with some support as a secondary function (to not feel guilty in zergs)

Also I hope to keep Adept Discipline open for Warrior’s Sprint, to help compensate for not using the Warhorn anymore, but it’s not the end of the world if you suggest I give it up.

This is gonna be a weird one

As warrior I feel the most epic dual wielding the same weapon and swiftly cutting through enemies (I tried Thief, but without permanent stealth they’re just a badly armoured Warrior to me).

I don’t care about optimum builds since my main gameplay focus is on Dynamic Events, Guild Missions and Living Story, if I wanna farm dungeons i’ll look up a specialized build at the time.

The only problem is a dual wielding build doesn’t offer much for group support, which makes me feel kinda like a parasite with all the other members of the zerg or the guild giving Swiftmess, Might, healing etc from their abilities.

In light of that, do you think I should go for the build that makes me feel cool, or the build that lets me contribute to the groups buffs?

Legendary Weapons - an appeal to ArenaNet

Dear ArenaNet
I haven’t always played your game constantly, but I did play it for a long time after release, and the HoT announcement brought me crawling back. That’s because though I got bored at times I believe that the mechanics of your game are still fun and can create entertaining content, plus I can’t resist a game whose content focuses on game lore.
One of the best things I heard from HoTs announcement is new <Legendary Weapons, with questlines to get Precursors (the one reason I never obtained a Legendary in the game currently), so to make sure this feature is perfect, I appeal to you…….

PLEASE DON’T MAKE THE WEAPON MODELS GIMMICKy AGAIN

Compared to games like TERA, WOW and Wildstar, I believe that GW2s art style is definitely more “earthy”, focusing on detail and somewhat realism against stylization (hence why half of your equipment models look like plain old armor), because of this disco balls, unicorns and confetti pistols simply don’t fit.
I’m not saying there’s no humour in the game, or that you can’t have humour, I just believe the tone you yourselves have set for GW2 is better suited for action and drama first and humour second.

And I also believe this sort of style takes away from the sense of empowerment players should feel by having them, I believe that they want to show off to others how dedicated and skilled they are for taking the time to make the weapon by looking distinct and kitten, not goofy.

Please ArenaNet, leave the gimmicky styles in the Gem Store for the eccentrics who will buy them, and focus on making Legendary weapons look not only distinct, but kitten, and fitting with the tone GW2 is trying to set. I’m pretty sure that you’ll make a lot of people happy

First let me say I am a casual gamer, I play MMOs casually, and for me personally this sort of thing is a big deal since it’s how I give myself a goal in GW2.
Finally, after months of RNG (claim ticket) weapon skins, we have Sovereign Weapon Skins that you can BUY, with stuff RELATED TO THE RELEASE CONTENT
True you can buy the currency on the TP but you still have to spend real money/ put in the time to get the gold to buy the stuff, that’s miles better than wasting time/money on the chance to get them
Thank you ANet, please keep this method of obtaining weapon skins, if you find it unprofitable I suggest posting them on the gem store or making the currency account-bound so ppl can’t buy their way, but plz don’t go back to the RNG claim ticket crap, you’ve proven now that you’re better than that.

those Destroyer armour skins alone (and the other two) r enough to get me interested when i’ve been jaded by the past few updates
i’m still searching for a signature look for my char (something i’m passionate about since Transmog in WOW) if they give us a wide variety of impressive and colourful (not bland steel) armor and weapon skins through the Achievement reward system, I will gladly forget all the RNG bullkitten in the past (I will NEVER let the Fused Weapon fiasco go :P).
Even if the skins initially released aren’t to my liking, the potential for future skin releases with this system

I didn’t mean hand them out like candy, I meant make giving them based on skill or dedication to the content.
I’m all for sttuff having a “wow” faactor or being rare, but I put lots of my time into farming those keys and I got nothing, doesn’t seem fair to me.
Even Legendary Weapons as mentioned earlier are more “tedious” than hard to get, even the Mystic Clovers seem to spawn at a reasonable rate. If Anet wants weapons to have a “wow” factor based on RNG then they could release “premium” skins that look even flashier but spawn rarely from chests (like the mounts in WOW) but the current skins are there for those who like the style, and would gladly pay loads on the Gem Store to get them, or put lots of time into the new content to get them. Shouldn’t those people be rewarded as opposed to getting “lucky” in chests (like a casual player gets a skin on their first try, but a dedicated player who gives more of their real time may never obtain them)

sry, I know i’ve complained a lot on these forums, so i’ll try and keep it to a minimum. My words on Fused Weapons on my last post stand, I feel Anet/NCSoft did NOT handle the acquirement of these skins well or fairly, and I know the form of acquiring them (RNG) has kitten off a lot of other players in terms of other things like Badges of Honor, Precursors and Mystic Clovers. Stuff like this should be given definitely for participating in the new releases, not as it was introduced. I have made a petition online here:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/gw2-weapon-skins-on-the-gem-store-plz/
if you agree with wat I said on it then plz sign, if we get enoug signatures then mbe Anet/NCSoft will get the message that we won’t be screwed over by this again.
if not then sry I took up ur time

Honestly while I do blame Arenenat for making gambling my time/money the only way to get these weapons, I also acknowledge that I chose to put my time into farming keys and buying the gems just for the chance of getting a (very awesome looking) cosmetic item for a fictional game.
If Arenanet puts them on the gem store in future, I will buy them and say no more about it, but if they do this sort of thing again in a different update then I will simply not validate it by trying to get the new items.
I’m all for making them available on TP regardless of the time that has passed, I say we give them a chance to correct this mistake but not tolerate them making it again.

(this post contains whining, you have been warned)
I have been playing GW2 since launch and I enjoy it very much, however over time I have noticed that some of the reward systems on launch, and even now with Flame and Frost, show a serious addiction to rewards obtained by chance and NOT by concentrated effort.
First there is Badges of Honor, the reward system in WvW, looted POSSIBLY from a SMALL BAG (which also drops POSSIBLY) from killing players, acknowledging that much of WvW is either travelling large distances or engaging in massive scale battles where dodging and keeping mobile is essential. The best way to get them is not to participate in WvW at all, but to farm badges from the jumping puzzles, thus defeating the entire purpose of going onto WvW, and turning WvW into a repetitive mix of dying constantly or walking around constantly (tho that is probably just me sucking at PvP :P) and possibly not getting anything for it.
Then now, in the Razing update for Flame and Frost, the new weapon skins (Fused) released are awesome, so I have been spending my Easter Holidays farming keys in the hopes of getting a ticket for each of my weapons, I have opened nearly 100 chests and gotten 1 ticket, aka hours (sometimes 5 at a time) of farming keys and I got one ticket, and according to the posts on other forums i’ve read I should be grateful even for that. Like the badges I can’t get the tickets for even participating in the new content, I get them by either spending in the TP or farming keys at 1 per 30 minutes.
This is just what I’VE experienced, i’m sure there are other rewards in-game which rely on luck to obtain, which we may not get even after hours of work.
It’s not all bad news; I find the 1/3 chance of mystic clovers very reasonable; it’s chance, but the chance is high enough that you do see results enough times to keep motivated, plus this is for a component of LEGENDARY WEAPONS, which are supposed to be the highest weapons in-game, surely this probability (or even higher) is reasonable for simple tokens and skins for weapons.
The whole thing is like a boss in a job saying “work whatever hours as you want, but we’ll pay u whenever we want” even if you only worked one hour a week, you’d still expect to be paid for that one hour because you still put your time into it. I believe it should be the same for rewards in GW2.
I understand that GW2s lack of endgame hurts its replayability compared to other MMOs, so you have updates and grinding to give the players something to do, but I believe rewards by chance can only go so far. As a gamer I don’t mind grinding, I don’t mind difficult challenge, I don’t mind needing to work for ages to get something (at the end of the day that’s what extends the life of any game in any genre), I don’t even mind paying real money for something as simple as a weapon skin, but I DO mind putting hours of my time into something I might not be rewarded for, especially my FREE time.
Does anyone else feel this way? do you want the chance factor exchanged for more rewards with high needs that you’re certain to obtain after ages of work (like the Mystic Forge items and dungeon weps)? Do you want the chance to be improved for more minor items like weapon skins, which give no real edge or Achievements in-game besides looking nice? Do you want me to get over myself and stop trying to be smart? Or do you have something you’d like to add or suggest?
Responses would be appreciated

Fused weapon tickets and BL Chest drop tables

Teriddax.3105

agree with everything said here
if you put something appealing on the TP in exchange for real money then I will happily buy it, I get it, ur a commercial business. But there is only so far I will go in terms of farming keys and spending real money for gems for merely the CHANCE to get a simple weapon skin, awesome or not.
Please Anet, either put the skins on TP or increase chance of getting them from chests, with a figure we can go on not simply “increasec chance of drop…..”
