So I have mained a Ranger for a long time now.. as you level look for armor and weapon that are of the power variety… pick up leather worker and huntsman for your 2 professions.. learn all the weapon combo’s.. while leveling focus on Longbow and Greatsword.. once you get to 80 and start working on Exotic gear (Ascended later) you will want to transition over to Sinister gear for condition damage and Axe / Torch for melee and either Longbow or Shortbow… pets are important but you can pick the style of pet you want to use either going with a bear for tank or a cat of some sort for DPS..

If you don’t mind building your own rig I would suggest Newegg and take these recommendations and build out a wish list.. I personally went i7, 32GB of RAM, and a Pascal 1080 and it hums along quite nicely… GW2 is much more CPU constrained than Video Card constrained…

Had a Nostomo Gamepad.. upgraded to a Razer Orbweaver.. awesome piece of gamepad hardware…

Yeah the whole Masteries piece is nice.. just make sure you understand that there are 2 main tracks of them.. Maguuma (which is the 4 maps with HoT) and Central Tyria which is the core maps… the Central Tyria map that gets you auto looting is the first one to focus on along with the gliding and the bouncing mushrooms in the Maguuma track… and make sure you understand what gets you mastery points….

If you open up a chest (I forget what the minimum “title” of the chest has to be) with a level 80 toon you will get the fragments you need and you can do it with multiple 80 toons.

I am only level 40 but I have always waited till my pet has scored a hit before engaging which almost always ensure they have the initial aggro… granted sometimes I out damage the pet (using a snow leopard predominantly) and then I am in backup mode but that has worked for me…

There is a Champion Queen Wasp… level 11-13 I think… the waypoint is Ojon’s Lumbermill Waypoint.
