Showing Posts For The Rover.1206:
I have seen numerous posts with issues in the TP relating to “order did not match any current listings” or not being able to buy gems. The solution given is to delete cache and restart the client.
Surely there has to be a more permanent fix to this? I am a bit tired of having to delete my cache periodically and, even so, only getting the TP to work properly once every X times or so…
Some people have mentioned having been banned right after doing that JP. Anecdotal evidence leads players to believe the teleportation marks players as cheaters.
Our 2-Team Tournaments have been growing in popularity since they were introduced, however very few players are queuing up for the 8-Team Tournament format anymore, due to that. This often means that players can queue up for hours, without an 8-Team Tournament ever kicking off. This is not a good experience, so we’ve decided to disable them. While we may bring back multi-round PvP tournaments in the future, for now we will be discontinuing the 8-Team, 3-Round Tournament format.
The only reason 8-team isn’t popular is because it’s bugged to Abaddon and back.
Ever tried queuing for it? You can’t. It doesn’t work. Unless you build your 5-men team beforehand, you’ll never get in.
I’m sorry ANET, but some times I have to wonder if you’re just making excuses or if you actually play your own game…
Buying influence (drinks) gives me no influence. Just lost 2g+ on this.
Guild: Wanderers and Rovers on Piken Square
Minus the helmet, this was my favorite set for warriors
I loved that armor.

elite gladiator would fit the norn love of skimpiness in their armors
Not to mention there isn’t a really skimpy armor in GW2. It almost seems like “Prude Wars” now…
I too miss my Elite Gladiator!
Thanks ANet support team. They’re looking after us Aussies that couldn’t attend.
These are indeed good news!
1) Make good on the rewards from the Karka event. It won’t make up for missing the content but giving everyone a chest at least levels the playerbase and doesn’t just give a boost to North American players.
This. +1
I don’t honestly care if I get 0 chests or 10 chests, I will be sorely disappointed if the following people don’t get at least one chest:
- Those who played most of the weekend event but are unlucky to live on another time zone so couldn’t make it to the final event
- Those who played most of the weekend event but are unlucky to actually have to work or other commitment so couldn’t make it to the final event
- Those who played most of the weekend but weere caught by the lag and bugs during Friday and Saturday (Arena’s fault) and gave up trying on Sunday
To me there’s only one way to fix this mess: give one chest to anyone who has logged in during the weekend. Heck, to anyone who has at least one karka kill on their monthly achievement.
PS: posted this as well on another thread

- Not everyone who got a chest in the event got a second chest later. Some did, yes, and they may keep the chest or — better still! — pay it forward by sharing with someone else. But most who got the chests didn’t get a second one.
Gaile,
I’ve known you for years (GW1 Ascalon gatherings, good days) and I am honestly so disappointed at your approach on this. Despite your commendable effort in soothing the community, this has to go on a “how not to do customer care” manual somewhere.
You are basically saying that so many people will wrongfully get an extra chest while others (and I don’t mean the ones with disconnecting issues, who have to yell to get what it’s due) will finish the event empty handed.
Every other MMO company has seen itself in this situation and has done the right thing. Please, please, please stop alienating your fan base and do the right thing too.
Thanks,
A player who has been hooked to GW since 2004 beta weekends.
So if I understand correctly, ANet’s plan for fixing this major event screwup and script screwup is:
1) Players who were hopping between servers opening several chests – get one more chest on their mail
2) Several players who didn’t login during the entire weekend – get one chest on their mail
3) Players who d/c during the event – get one chest after having to almost scream for it in tickets & forum
4) Players who were busy or in the “wrong” timezone at the time of the event – get nothing
5) Players who played most of the weekend but were discouraged by either the lag, the buggy NPCs or the cancelled Saturday events and ended up not logging at a specific time on Sunday – get nothing
Is it just me, or is this amazing?
I’m a hardcore Arena fan and a total Guild Wars fanboi, but seriously, this is a disaster. Arena need to learn customer relations with other companies like Trion.
Trion, responsible for Rift, had issues on one of their first events. They didn’t really have to do anything, but they decided to reward every single character that had been created at the time of the event, with the rewards + achievements + title.
It’s bad enough that Arena decides to do a one time buggy event, when some are busy and unavailable, rewards those who attend with the best items in the game, allows them to do it several times, and now rubs salt in the wound and gives them an extra reward while others are left with nothing.
This is for people who put in the full effort.
Some people did the event several times on several servers and now got a new chest by email
Some people didn’t login at all during the weekend and now got a chest by email
Care to rethink your assessment?
I think it would probably be best for Arena to do what Trion does: own up to this major screwup, give a chest to every player (who had an account before the event, of course) and stop alienating their fan base.

Influence disappeared after use. This has been reported over the bug system a long time ago and now through the support site.
(Paying for a Digital Deluxe edition and then seeing one of the items have no effect is painful).
Guild name: Wanderers And Rovers [WaR]
I have used my Tome of Influence to add 1000 Influence to the guild, and proceeded to add two 500 Influence upgrades to the queue. The game correctly removed my 1000 Influence.
After about an hour, the queue was empty, no upgrades gained and my 1000 Influence gone.
(Goes without saying that I’d like to get either my 1000 Influence or my Tome back)
