Current most efficient build for HoT content?

I think the two most important requirement for survivability in HoT content is movement and range weapon. Just run a zerkshot build with a signet of fury to provide instant berserking ability. GS provide you with fast movement and rifle lets you pick off mob from afar. No need to worry about surviviability as much when you don’t need to get completely close to the mobs or you can move away. Also most mob will not be able to survive through your berserking if you spam rifle primal burst which does around 12k damage on crit.

I don’t have any great impression of hybrid builds warrior for PvE. Warrior has no weapon that does good condition damage and physical damage at same time(Especially for weapon 1 skill). You could argue that for bow but lets be honest, people use bow for condition damage and utilities. All other weapons are either condition based or physical based. Trying to make a condition weapon to do physical damage or vice versa is like trying to make the feet fit the shoe.

Isent the 180 power buff better then 180 precision? In a raid group, or a good fractal/dungeon group critical chance shouldnt be that much of a problem right? I might be wrong, so that’s why I’m asking. ^^

Edit: Changed might -> power

I don’t know the exact math of it but the warrior meta always have chosen signet of fury over signet of might so from the test by the pros, I think it will be the better choice.

I don’t think this build work well on HoT contents. The biggest problem with this build is the lack of movement and there is not much ways to keep yourself alive. If you can live off from two dodge and a regen buff, then it don’t really matter as long as you like the feel of the build. Also I think signet of fury would be a better option than signet of might.

Tell me the truth: Warrior and PVE

Warrior has very good suitability and mobility. You can do high and sustained damage with GS/Axe build and you can buff your team with banner and phalax strength.

However, the warrior class has a few problems. The two main problem is fast adrenaline decay out of combat and that most build require the fast-hand trait so discipline line is almost always needed in most PvP build. In addition, the defense line is almost always needed in any PvP build.

When you add the berserker spec to all this, it create a lot of problem for the spec since the spec takes up a whole trait line which the warrior class kind of lack because of the importance of defense/discipline trait line. The problem with adrenaline decay also cause a lot of problem for berserker since the spec completely relies on adrenaline. You can say that berserker is useless unless the fight lasts long enough for you to active berserker. If you can’t active berserker, the whole spec line is useless. But in order to active it, you need to build up enough adrenaline which takes time unless you specifically use specific skill to get adrenaline. As a result, its an annoying spec since you can’t use it most of the time and that losing a whole trait line makes the regular state of the warrior much weaker than a warrior that did not take the berserker trait line.

There is a few problem with your build. I moved a few trait around and changed a the amulet.

Getting vig shout and last stand together I feel waste a GM trait because they both requires util slot so you can’t use the trait to the fullest. If you want to help your team, shout heal would be much better support than giving your friend longer might/fury.

I would use crusader amulet because it gives you much better physical defense, healing and attack. Higher defense with better heal is much better than having more HP in long sustained fight. high defense amplifies your healing basically. You can use 4 shout every ~20 seconds which gives you a lot of heals and chills. Also give you a lot of adren for berserking. There is two controlled stun breaker/stability which gives you 2.5k hp when you break out of stun plus another 1k toughness for 8 second(4.5k toughness total). I prefer shield master than dogged march because the regen does very little and you have two source of reflecting projectiles quicker stun. Also you can block to prevent some source of condition. Condition is the main weakness of this build so I pick berserker stance so it can also give you adren for berserker. You don’t have to worry about CC in this build much since if you stun break with shake it off, it give you stability and heals 4k(1/5 of your total hp with 4.5k toughness) and you also have stability in berserker mode. Also if you use headbutt(self stun) and immediately use shake it off to break stun, you will trigger rousing res which let you immediately go into berserker mode, toughen up and heal up all at once.

This build overall gives you better support/attack/survival than the build you suggest but I dont think either build will get you any kills to be honest. You can probably just stand on point and keep spamming shout and berserk without having to do anything. XD

Bloodfire: condi/shoutheal/zerker build PVE

Not sure if your build is for WvW or PvE but I don’t think is good for either mode. Your build is a “hybrid” build but your weapon skills does not give you any physical attack at all. The only two skill that can hurt enemy physically is arcing arrow and final thrust so power/precision/ferocity does not help your build much at all. You use weapon swapping sigil on your weapon but you can’t use it to its fullest sense you don’t have fast hand. You can do a lot higher damage if you pick burning arrow in tactics instead. Since your build can’t stack high amount of might, having rune of strength is kind of useless. The 5% physical damage is pretty much neglect-able. You can pick some some rune that can actually help with shout such as trooper or pick some condition helping rune. These are only part of the problem, I can go on but these should give you something to think about.

Best build for solo/small group HoT zones?

I use these two builds for HoT roaming.

These two build are not optimal for max DPS but I don’t really care too much about that. When soloing, I like to use hit and run technique on creature in the those map since mobs tend to be tightly packed so you can’t stick to them with GS for a long time. I would engage the enemy, unleash all skill and then get out of range with whirlwind attack. Then use LB skill and kit them a bit, wait for GS skill to finish CD and engage enemy again. This build has high mobility with bulls rush which is a great fight starter as u can stun enemy and unleash 100b. I get enduring pain so i can just charge into a whole group of mob and is a great life saver. Also this build is great for exploration as you can get around the map really fast with GS + bulls rush.

Ground Targetting Range Bug

When using arcing arrow on my warrior, the target area selector appears green even when out of range(appear green no matter where you target). When trying to fire, it will indicate that target is out of range then it will go back to normal. But after a minute or so, the same bug will occur again.

Powerful Synergy Change

in Warrior

Posted by: The Terrible Child.4763

The Terrible Child.4763

Reason: This trait has always been one of the least used GM trait for warriors. For starter, people only goes for tactic trait line if they use shoutbow in PvP or phalanx strength build in PvE. As a result, no one ever consider powerful synergy in any situation. At the moment, this trait makes leap finisher activate twice (i.e leaping through fire field gives fire armor with 2x duration as normal). Because this trait only work for leap finisher, it means that warrior only has 5 skills(savage leap, shield bash, bull rush, eviscerate, dash(rampage)) that can utilize this trait. This GM trait is simply too uncompetitive in both PvE and PvP situations and can be considered as the most useless out of all the warrior’s GM traits. In addition, as part of the tactic trait line, it also provides no support for party members.

Purposed Change: The change I would purpose for this trait is to make this trait activate on all finishers including the finishers of party members. This would make it a great party support trait since it make might stacking much easier and other combos for the entire team much more effective. This is needed to put it on the same competitive ground as phalanx strength and vigorous shout. This change would make this trait great for both party support and soloing.

Headbutt fix.

Not to sound like a shrink but please someone explain to me the thought process behind thinking that a stun to yourself not only good but also justifiable. Justifiable as in comparing Headbutt to other skills in the game that are similar.

Also please dont give me a some sort of logical justification like well in real life u head butt someone it hurts lol this is a game not real life and if we applied that logic to this game it would fail in every other example.

Because headbutt is a very powerful skill. It can stun for a long time, break stun, a movement skill(remove immobile with trait), fully recharge adrenaline, and a short CD. Having a self stun is just a way to make it less OP. But the short range of it does make it a bit harder to land.

Is Reaper Warrior 2.0? PvE

The Terrible Child.4763

Dragon hunter is what i wanted on the warrior….. Warrior bow abilities are made for PVE not pvp and are very soft/boring to use. With that ill add that all the new revenant and rep abilities are awesome and its just leaving the warrior out dated and stale. They should of done a update on some of the older abilities 2bh.

The bow is an amazing weapon. If you think bow is bad for PvP, then you don’t really know warrior at all. In fact, bow is much better for PvP than PvE since you would just use mostly melee weapon in PvE. People use bows for its utilities rather than raw damage. If bow is bad for PvP, then how would you explain the popularity of build such Hambow and Shoutbow in PvP and WvW.

Interesting Hambow Build

in Warrior

Posted by: The Terrible Child.4763

The Terrible Child.4763

An interesting WvW build I created for roaming. Works pretty well in 1v1 situations. This build is very dependent on the user sticking close to the enemy and interrupting them. 100% up time on weakness/poison. Does damage to enemy with multiple stacks of confusion, bleed, burn conditions and reasonable amount of physical damage.

http://intothemists.com/guides/6014-hybrid_hambow_x9001

Pro:
A lot of conditions(8) and applies it by sets/stacks at a time.
A lot of CC(for interrupts).
A lot of HP(Nearly 30k).
An reasonable amount of physical damage(very good damage against zerker builds).
Two enduring pain.
Good condition cleanse(depending on trait variant).

Con:
Low Defense(only 2.7k).
Not a lot of gap closer(enemy always runs away).
Not much way to block attacks.

Feedback, advise and your experience with this build is appreciated.

The lighting on the armor looks much better in front of Arah than most other places. I wish ANET just use the shader setting from Arah everywhere.

Need Longbow Stat + Sigil Suggestions

in Warrior

Posted by: The Terrible Child.4763

The Terrible Child.4763

I was wondering which stat and sigil I should pick for my longbow. I use the longbow only in PvE situation where I just roam around(not dungeons) in places like the silverwaste or cursed shores for killing bosses and mobs. I mainly switch to it when my GS skill is on cooldown or I want some distance between me and my enemy. Since longbow provide both good instant damage from skill 3 and condition damage, I was wondering which stat and sigil I should pick for it. The stats I have in mind is berserker and sinister. As for sigil, I am not considering any damage sigil aside from force, no stacking or on kill sigil. I am leaning towards force, air, fire, strength, battle, smoldering/agony/malace/bursting.
