Was playing Spvp today and had an unpleasant surprise when I found myself getting stunned while in stealth (eg. I would stealth to stomp an enemy and was then getting stunned out of my stomp). Also I swear enemies can see you while you are in stealth as before I have shadow refuged to get 15s of stealth to get out of an impossible fight and the enemies have literally run straight after me wherever I go.
Can you fix stealth pls Anet? xx
^ This. If you are on the team that is ahead you are guaranteed 200 glory regardless of how you play as people will leave the losing side/switch teams meaning you can almost always volunteer for auto balance. If you are on the team that is behind however, auto balance is never anywhere near enough to make up for people leaving the team and the wait before auto balance kicks in not to mention the fact people just give up and resign themselves to the loss.
ens raises an interesting point about not allowing people to choose team, and I can see how this would lead to a funner and more balanced meta if it were implemented (not that it ever will be :p)
Hi all, I have been playing spvp for about a month now so I’ll be the first to admit that I am not the most experienced player, but nevertheless the following really bugs me:
The difference between winning and losing in spvp is 75 glory points which means the winning team get almost twice the glory of the losers. As a result of this many people will just change server as soon as it looks like their team may lose, effectively punishing the people who carry on playing as they have little chance of winning and getting a decent amount of glory with a smaller team. Also many times people change team mid match if they perceive they will have a greater chance of winning on the other team, which again effectively screws over the team they have left behind. I have often seen low scoring players on my team ditch us and get 200 glory while I have stayed loyal to the team (which surely is more healthy for the game) and get 125 despite high-scoring.
People say that wins and losses balance out, but I have found that people who stick with their team and try their best never win as frequently as people who are prepared to screw their team over in order to get personal game. Surely this isn’t healthy in a team game and is rather missing the point. To balance this maybe there could be introduced a glory bonus for playing a complete game for a single team and a lower glory reward for people who team switch during a match. If nothing else at least give the top scorers on the losing team some extra glory, as otherwise once it is clear one’s team is going to lose what is even the point of trying?
Sorry for the rant, Ive never posted on these forums before but I’m just fed up of trying my best for a doomed team and getting squat whilst people who backstab their own team by swapping get all the glory.
I’d love to hear other people’s opinions on this, I’m sure there are players out there a lot more experienced than myself, so if my points are flawed then by all means let me know
