Hello, I am ALS’s raid leader and WvW officer and I am happy to announce our return to our original home Anvil Rock.
With us we hope to bring four things we have learned in our time on dragonbrand. We will be returning with 150 active players, most of whom are experienced zerg busters with experience against guilds such as Ark, EP, AGG, FEAR, as well as the maguuman backplane blobs. We will be bringing four major game changers to Anvil Rock.

#1. Troops on the ground.
Our leader Anvil Pants divided our guild into 5 teams of 25-30, each lead by a separate commander. Two Gallants, Hroflr Kumar, Kodiak, Mysticloner, and of course me. Each of our teams is highly experienced and is ready to not only assist each map but also train others. Expect to hear me giving commands and coordinating with out commanders as we actively work together to create full map coverage during Na. Do not question their decisions, as they are never wrong.
#2. EU coverage
While the hard core portion of our guild plays from 4 server to 12 server we can’t cover the entire day, therefore the more casual part of the guild manages the WU time zone in which ever way they see fit.
#3. Voip services
While scouting AR in preparation for our return we found the current teamspeak inadequate and we have set up a raid call for the server. We expect that guilds will comply with this new VoIP or they will receive little cooperation from us.
#4. Training
Now I understand that most of Anvil Rock has never gotten the proper wvw training, which is why Anvil and I will be running a weekly MANDATORY training sessions for all those who use our VoIP.. can’t wait to see you there.

We have a motto in ALS. WvW isn’t about having fun and playing for fights. It’s about stacking on the pin, shutting up, and doing work. Its about winning the score at the end of the week. Goodbye dragobrand, hello Anvil Rock !

It’s been 4 hours and I’ve returned to the game and I’m searching for a stable guild that is looking for a experienced driver/leader for Competitive WvW. This is the First time I’m a free agent, so lets see what’s out there.
Background
• Commanded ALS twice on reset night on Anvil Rock
• Teamspeak server intelligence agent
• Affliated Leadership: rB, FIRE, ALS, ZERO, EE, PLX, RUST, MEOW, TGR, ALS.
• Was Accepted to qT , but final membership failed to go through\
• Drove PLX for 4 months, Smashed dumpster guilds such as FEAR, Choo, TW.
• Update 1-5 of my rallybot friends will be coming with me(Can provide names)
• Extensive Frontline knowledge
What I’m Looking for

Heard a BG commander rage quit on BG BL not too long ago.

I heard a whole SoR wvw rage quited since reset night.

That’s ok we’re having more fun collecting loot. Got my third precursor.

Did Anet do something to the precursor drop rate? cos I got the legend on friday and someone else in the guild also got another precursor, and i have heard a number of people have gotten them since then too, or it could be i have noticed it more since i got mine

I hate this place, the discussions are so null anf dry, never any talk between guilds, or about fights, just pugs/trolls/iron talking about obvious things that no one give a kitten about (I hate that filter…) . Congrats on what should be 30 pages of fluff you kittens.

OH and forget about using a shield, I know there are so many cool skins, but Warhorn is way to strong not to use.

I run a 20-35 man team in WvW when I command, usually doing this on my warrior. I have a terribly bad habit of taking on groups that I have no business fighting I.E the “mega zergs” and really anything above zerker should be fine for use, however I’ll give you a few optimal ideas if you are going to be commanding on a warrior.

While there are many different WvW builds for warrior and I’m sure others will weight in and say I’m wrong or I’m short sighted when it comes to my views on the class. So to ensure maximum credibility I’ll only be talking about things that I personally have used to lead in WvWvW.

Starting out my first warrior build that I ran was your basic 30, 30, 10 build, shouts healing with soldier runes. Pretty standard stuff,(hammer/Warhorn sword). I used all soldiers gear and trinkets and while I enjoyed getting about 1500 per auto attack(barely ever got a crit) the damage output wasn’t really enough and to be honest and this going to sound wierd, I felt my sustainability was a little to high, this is just me personally. if you are running with a team of “militia” we’ll call them this might be the way you want to go as many of them will not have group based optimized builds, if you want to get a little more risky then you can go with melandru runes and condi reduction food, dolyak signet, balanced stance, and Shake it off or Great Justice. That is going to give you the most survivability, however if you are leading a more experienced group of players or you are comfortable with your abilities then go with dolyak signet, for great justice, and shake it off with soldiers runes to help the team.
Now in my case my guild ran the Knights Cavs meta which I recently switched to and can say it is quite enjoyable, though your vitality is significantly lower so condition clearing can be a problem. However your damage output is much higher with this set up then with pure soldiers. Another option that i’ve tried is celestial trinkets and soldiers armor, again 0, 0, 30, 30, 10. I’ve found this build is just all around and good for most of the jobs that need to be done, it’s a good damage output, you /sit in the red circles to die, and your healing shouts heal for approx 1700-1800 per shout, not to mention condi removal with the soldier runes.

Again though if damage is your thing and you want to get a little wierd with it, there is another build I run which is 30, 0, 30, 0 , 10 that uses balanced stance, endure pain, and dolyak signet, and signet of rage. The build focuses around Axe/Mace with hammer and requires the use of the defy pain trait. Knights cavs. Dual wielding in the first trait line is a must as well. If you plan on using this spec then expect to take a lot of pressure if you over extend, however you have melandru runes and condi duration food to back you up in those harry situations and as long as your zerg is behind you, you’ll be able to heal up and pull them through the fight, but don’t expect to be taking all that much damage, endure pain will allow you to go kitten deep into the middle of the enemy blob and cut it in half, and while you are taking that heavy pressure your defy pain kicks in and you’ll be able to get your group out of the mess for a quick regroup and reempower from your guardians before hopping right back into the fray.

This is a little dis organized but for the more support style Warrior types I mentioned Sword/Warhorn is key along with hammer but if you really want to run GS that is ok to, but in my opinion that makes you sort of a scrublet. lol. Not implying that OP is scrub of course. Quick breathing was the point I was trying to make. Warrior condi clear is insane, no where close to guardian, but still impressive.

Bottom line and the TLDR. Warriors can go where most classes can’t and don’t expect to die a lot on the frontlines if you use one for commanding, just don’t get yourself locked down by your sword, move foward, and never back petal, a true warrior never backs down.

I hate to be a Kitten, but OP sounds like he got beat by a hammer warrior, and this thread reeks of bad.

You’ve always had your own interests in mind Smokee, and as a result, it’s always had at least a little positive influence in balancing your time zone, as well as benefit Blackgate because it kept you playing. Dem was some dark days when you retired. Regarding ZDs, you’re right I think. Where else could they have gone? You’d think JQ at first, but the back-to-back-to-back of MERC —> ATM --> ZDs (not discounting other guilds/players in those time zones by the way .. just trying to keep it simple) would have probably been a bit ridiculous. SoR? ZDs —> IRON --> EST NA. Similar effect I’d would think I don’t know. I’m not saying ZDs will not have a similar effect on BG, only that the overall influence on the outcome might be less impactful than the alternatives.

In the end, perfect balance is a pipe dream. If it ever exists, it would only last a short while I think. Too much can change too quickly and off-prime time coverage balance is too delicate.

My 2 cents anyways. As always, I disclaim my posts with the chance that I’m a total idiot regarding this stuff.

I think what smokee was looking for is more competitive fielding from JQ in that timeslot, and I don’t mean it as a slight to JQ EU but there isn’t any competition from that side, you have IRON, who is a very good fielding guild and fields a large force from SoR, and basically alphabet soup from JQ. again no offense meant towards JQ EU.

Haha what? You must be joking. The week IRON moved over to SoR was like the floodgates of QQ opened on the forums. It was also the same week SoR won #1 for the first time in history.

I’m not saying that to justify anything, but let’s not forget what actually happened when IRON moved over to SoR. In my opinion, it’s far more than the amount of QQ surrounding ZD now :P

Rumor has it that the new beta they are starting (edge of the mists) will assign guilds into colors, most likely RGB. These colors will work like servers do. The other but less likely rumor is that EU/NA will be mixed for the beta. In theory you could have Agg and Scnd fighting each other, and agg being on a neutral color with COIN from BG. just an example.

99% of the time 2v1s aren’t coordinated, I get the feeling some people imagine Dr.Evil’s council sitting around going “yes, yes, double golem rush garrison, JQ, bring the sharks, BG bring the laser beams.”

Most of the time commanders will let chose not to incite hostilities from the other server as it won’t benefit them in their effort to flip t3 structures, it might also create a quote on quote “double team” on their server because you’ll have the server that was already pressuring you on that map and now you have the third server retaliating back at you, again creating a “2v1”. It’s strategy not spite.

Thanks to the SoR Mesmer with the guild tag [BaD] wearing the charr t3 armor with a arah helmet and a ascalonian greatsword, we fought by the centaurs and it was magical, made me feel like a unicorn on heroin

I had written a really long post about how bad hero is but I decided it doesn’t really need detail because all you need to do is log in and go into EBG, SBI. Don’t let them command that map, it will do you no good. They are fair weather kittens who lack aptitude for playing this gaming in an effective or polite manner. The few quality members of that guild stayed on dragonbrand the rest are trash. My personal opinion. if you can’t beat a guild with double their numbers you should stick where you belong, which is in the megazerg, don’t try to command a map if you don’t even understand combo fields. Please don’t ruin EBG any further for Sbi, thank you and have a nice day.

GG to SoR and JQ for the awesome Garrison fight on SoRBL that seemed to have lasted hours. We kept trying to let JQ cap but we finally realized they weren’t capable so we did it ourselves, mad respect to SoR for not folding under the pressure and really dragging out the fight. Lag like no other but still fun stuff

Anvil rock has little to no PvE, I’m recruiting people to my Guild ALS, to have organized raid nights on the Anvil Rock server via guesting. I’ll post when our first raid is, Message Anvil Pants.3426 for details
