Maybe now they’re more cautious, considering how it went the last time the Flame Legion tried to unleash the destroyers against their enemies

From the GW wiki:

“The Ring of Fire Islands is the home of one of the five bloodstones and of the volcano known as Abaddon’s Mouth, which is possesed by evil, supernatural forces which have caused the lava to harden into formations resembling monstrous faces.

Things have a very small chance and people run up against that – its perfectly normal.

Well, if the OP trend will continue I think he would have the right to ask support. In line of principle, using a little of statistics it’s easy to spot a possible bug in the RNG. This isn’t probably the case, just a streak of bad luck though: the number of clovers should converge to the mean with more attempts.

But since you need on average 231 tries for 77 clovers it should even out in the long run.

If it wouldn’t, that would be surprising

Did you calculate the chances to only succeed 9 out of 91 times with a chance of 30%? It is statistically very unlikely. If I did the math correctly the chance for this to happen is roughly 4*10^-49

I think you did something wrong, it’s actually about 3*10^-6 : it’s a low chance, but it’s plausible.

If you have the regen signet and trait then go for thoughness, if you take a burst heal go for vitality. This is logic and true for every mmo

At the moment, assuming 0 healing power, the highest heal burst you can get by warrior skills is “To the limit!”, that gives you 6540 HPs (actually, Mending heals about the same with 10s less cooldown, but let’s stick to the single heal case). That’s about 1/3rd of a full bar if you have base vitality (as in full Berserker). With full Marauder, this fraction reduces to less than 1/4th, so healing effectiveness is always reduced, even for burst heals. This is the reason why I usually favor toughness over vitality: if you have a bigger health bar, you have to fill it faster to keep up.

Some of them even scream and leap as a challenge But they also have the legionary military structure and the Klingon admiration of the warrior ethos.

They also share the “we killed our own gods”-myth with the Klingons. And both used to have an emperor (well Khan-Ur in the Charr’s case) but now are they are cooperating houses/legions. They even both have a traitor faction (House of Duras/Flame Legion).

That’s most likely all just coincidence, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we have a few Trek-fans among the devs.

I’d call that more of a coincidence, if you consider that the Claw of the Khan-Ur and a Klingon Bat’leth looks suspiciously similar

Precision increments critical chance, Ferocity instead increments critical damage, so it’s working as intended. Only with the Blood Reaction trait you can convert Precision into Ferocity.

I’m full Berserker right now, but I was doing some comparisons few days ago and I think I’ll switch to Demolisher if it will be enabled in PVE: with minor adjustments, you get much more toughness sacrificing very little damage; I think Marauder is a good alternative to Berserker, but I prefer to reduce damage taken instead of just increasing vitality (unless you raise healing power too, but then things become complicated)

You’re my hero. lol

I have a pretty good memory about this stuff, but because I had to do a lot of research for a living, I sort of burned out on looking stuff up. Fortunately, people like you exist.

Lol, thanks! I usually don’t bother to debunk this kind of stuff, but this was too big to let it pass.

My 2 cents on the topic: I surely would appreciate a bit of novelty for weapon and utility skills, but overall I’m quite satisfied about GW2 complexity level. Don’t think it really needs the overflowing number of skills GW1 had.
The one thing I really miss, however, is the possibility to save and switch builds on the fly, instead of manually change every trait and skill.

They said a number of contradictory things. Clarity has never been one of Anet’s strong points.

Before launch they told us straight out that skills would be linked to weapons. They gave examples. They told us straight out there would be ten skills, five determined by the weapon. They even said one would be a dedicated slot for healing and one would be an elite slot. They said directly there would be less skills than Guild Wars 1 as well.

Entire discussions happened on Guild Wars 2 guru about people being worried because there were less skills. This was something that was widely known before the game launched.

In fact, it was known as early as september 2010, almost two years before game launch: wiki archive 1, wiki archive 2

I agree one can like or dislike the differences between GW1 and GW2 skill systems, but surely there was much time for anyone to form an educated opinion about them, well before game launch.

EDIT: I just found an old GW2Guru discussion dating 01 May 2010 where a quote by Regina Buenaobra specifically refers to the skillbar composition: "You will also be able to use different weapon combinations: If for example, you have an axe in your main hand, this will define your first three skills. Pick up a shield – this defines the next 2 skills. Switch to a mace in your offhand – those skills change, basically giving you a different set of combinations. Switch to a Greatsword and you get 5 completely different skills.

All of this is then complemented by your free choice for the other 5 slots. Yes, one slot is reserved for a healing skill, and one for an elite skill – but we are not talking about one healing skill here, you will have a variety of different heal and elite skills to slot, each with their different flavors, each changing the way you actually play (aka your build)." So yeah, plenty of time to inform yourself about it.

I was in Iron Marches and I noticed a launch pad near the Gladefall Run WP which I never saw before. I tried to use it, but it appeared a message saying I needed to unlock the Gliding Basics mastery. The fact is, I already unlocked it, as it can be seen in the image. Is it a bug?
Character was Torald Haryander, Norn Berserker level 80.
Thanks in advance!
