Many GW1 players will remember the Xunlai Tournament house. For those who are unaware, you made predictions on what top guilds would win/place/show in tournaments and would earn rewards based on how well you could predict the outcome.
Now we have the start of WvW seasons, which I think would be an excellent opportunity to bring back this feature. While the Xunlai may be gone, I think there may be an enterprising Charr who could use the idea to gain more customers.
The predictions would follow the same type of format for the WvW tournaments as they did for GvG. Pick the placing order for each of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze leagues, and based your predictions, win some sort of in-game prizes. The better your predictions, the better the prizes would be.
For anyone interested in how the XTH was set up:

Whoa whoa whoa… Margonites ruled the Unending Ocean. Krait are supposedly from the Unending Ocean, if I remember my lore. If Krait culture was influenced by the Margonites somehow, they may know how to bring the power of the Margonites or the Domain of Anguish back into the world.
Just a thought.
As I have seen 3 thimbles and zero kegs, with about 30 hours a week in wvw since they were released, I can only assume you play 24/7.
The rest of us are still working on our basic wvw abilities on our first character.
So yes. Account wide would be beneficial and make very good sense for 90% of the population that, you know, sleeps sometimes.
Nope, I play 3 hours a night weekdays and only got to play about 8 hours this weekend due to irl and queues. That only about 13 hours this week…roughly about 20 hours by reset this Friday. Maybe I’m lucky or maybe me being on Blackgate makes a difference, I don’t know.
Your assumptions are off base, RNG is a pain I guess…
SoR here, played about as much as you. You have some awesome RNG, I only got about 8 thimbles total.
Do you have a before and after screen of how the dye looked
Yup, here it is. No dyes were changed, I checked that the setup remained the same. Sylvari cultural armor used to have unique gradients and it took me some time to find a dye combo that worked for me. Now the best I can do is find something that isn’t a complete eyesore, but no combo I tried even puts me close to the old combo that I liked.
Before I could put in some red in the t3 medium coat, and it would be red at the ends and gradient towards a green/yellow hue that worked perfectly with the rest of the armor. Now it seems I can’t have gradients at all. If this was unintentional, fair enough, hoping for a quick fix, if not, bad decision imo. That armor had some unique possibilities regarding the colors that have been lost with this update. The flip side was that it was hard for some to find a good looking dye combo, but when you did it was worth it.. Now almost every red I try, even if it looks good on the preview, turns out being pink when applied.
Noticing your ears… is pink your glow color? This could be a possible fix to the lack of glow sylvari characters get in most armor. Otherwise I have no idea.

Ok. whatever, I’m going.
Shhh… let the Germans take you…
Solstice its in game under your skill menu for buying skills. You can buy it already for 25 skill points.
Knew I shouldn’t have bought that Eldrich Scroll…
There are quite a few threads on this already.
It is ANet’s official stance that the WvW ranks are a form of character progression and will stay character-bound.
See Devon’s response here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Got-a-reply-to-account-bound-WvW-level/page/2#post2641483
This thread reminded me of running with my guild a few nights ago and something that was said. Basically the sentiment was, “I don’t care who we attack, I’m just out for blood.” You hit an objective for the points, take out enemies, get rewards. It doesn’t matter who it is, because as long as you’re doing something productive against them, you’re contributing.
What if it mattered much more who you attacked?
Give the two losing servers the incentive to fight the winning server rather than each other. When a losing server attacks the winning server, they get an extra bonus to their score immediately.
The current 2nd place would get 1x or 1.5x, and the 3rd would get 2x or 3×.
3rd place captures an objective from 1st that is worth 15 points. They get an extra 30 or 45 points immediately added to the score.
What’s important here is not the number multiplier (which can be adjusted), but the incentive it puts in. Attack the first place, and get a large reward, or fight each other and get small ones.
And it also gives a nice punch to coverage issues. If the top server is holding a large portion of the maps during off-hours, they have to defend them during the rest of the time, or risk a chunk of points going to the losing servers.
Our borderlands is completely overrun at night, but we do fine there during the day? That’s not that big of a problem anymore, because taking it back the next day gives us a big chunk of points to catch up with.
Similarly, this can be applied to WxP and other rewards, to give further incentives to fight the winning server (for those who are only in it for the karma train).

As there was another patch that still has not addressed this issue, I figure the thread needs a bump again. And also another bug report.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of the jumping puzzles. I’m just glad you can finish Emissary without having to do it.
I’ve been having a bug where spider, devourer, and bird pets will not resurrect downed allies with “Search and Rescue,” but ursine pets will. Haven’t tested with drake, feline, pig, moa, or canines yet. The pets will run over and stand at the ally’s location, but will not heal. I do not get the green healing numbers on my screen, and party members have verified that they are not doing anything but standing staring blankly at them.
Update: Wolf pet does heal allies using S&R.

Hopefully the “ways in which those items can be used” will include the mystery tonics. Seriously… I have over 100 of them and they are completely useless.
Personally, I just think a reset every day or two would be fine. Keeping the scores and the servers the same, but giving people a chance to have a fight again after the third day would be nice. Especially on the lower end servers like Devonas, Kaineng, Borlis, etc.
Running sword/torch & GS (and carrying a staff for when I need it), I can honestly say that I’ve put the fear of the gods in many players on my guardian. I’ve been taking the role of initiation for larger fights, and it’s just amazing how cowardly people get when a guardian suddenly appears in the middle of the group dropping AoE swirls of death. Of course, if no one follows the charge, you do just end up looking like an idiot when 3 or 4 warriors turn around and try to eat your face.
That being said, I do think guardian is the most lacking in ranged abilities. I actively avoid defending towers because scepter damage is mediocre at best, and waiting for Tome of Wrath to recharge is boring.
I don’t know if I would actually care enough to use the scepter even if it was buffed, just because of my playstyle. I want to be on the frontline cleaving heads, but warrior and thief don’t appeal to me.
