Basically each map has a different layer which when it fills up, creates a new layer for more players to fill with each layer being separate from the others. If you join a group which has players who aren’t in your map layer, then you can right click on their mini portrait to “join them”.

This is what gets referred to as “taxiing” into a map. You will find that if their map layer is full, you can’t join them and a message will pop up. You can either keep trying and hope someone leaves that map, or just give up trying at that point.

Right click on any of their portraits and select “Join them in world” (Or something, can’t quite remember exact text)

OMG, it really was that easy. Thank you, thank you. I have scoured forums and help sections and the internet and NO-ONE has said that before. How on earth do other players find out what to do?

HELP!

Now don’t shout at me, but I need help and I need it in clear terms.

I have been trying to use the LFG tool to join up with people doing Open World (World Bosses) events. I click on the event, click on Join Group and hey presto, I can see the little blue dots of other players, but they are in a different phase from me! WHY? How to I get to them?

I’ve tried joining the group when I am at the Waypoint required, from Lion’s Arch and virtually every other way I can think of but to no avail.

What am I missing?

So, the next day and the problem continues – game virtually unplayable – freezing then disconnection. I have been disconnected 12 times already this morning. PLEASE can we get this sorted out.

I have had exactly the same issue with the same error message. Today it is worse than normal, but all this week I have been DCd at least 10 times a day. My internet connection is fine and I have a fast computer. What’s going on?

D’you know, there are actually quite a few really nice, caring people out there. Thank you for your understanding (most of you) and helpful suggestions which I will try out. (I’m a, ahem, older girl [lady] and normally fairly level headed and sensible, but where heights are concerned, all sense goes out the window! Yep I have been known to lean right back in my chair and fight without trying to look!

I’m sorry for your condition, but the symptoms sound more like the symptoms of motion sickness, than a fear of heights, in which, you shouldn’t really be playing 3-Dimensional games anyway.

Not sure where the ‘motion’ comes in, I’m sitting very nicely thank you. I’ve been playing 3D games for about 10 years, it’s only GW2 that makes me feel sick!

I have a fear of heights. Doing most jumping puzzles, getting to Vistas etc causes the muscles in my legs to tingle, my stomach to churn, my heart to beat faster and my breathing to increase – put all together, not a pleasant experience!

I am now on ‘Establishing a Foothold’ trying to get my Glider and am in Jaka Itzel – OMG it’s such a long way down (feels sick, AGAIN)!

I have never played a game that relies so bloomin’ heavily on jumping and going up high. Please, developers, take pity on those of us who have a fear of heights!
