There will be no “classic expansion”, because
- if it would cost real-world money a lot of ppl would cry
- if it would be available for gems … well, a lot of ppl would cry

I would be more than happy to throw 50-100 $ at a decent expansion …. but ofc that’s just me. I liked the GW1 model better. Delivers better content and less lottery items, less recycled item, less re-skin, less boosters, less limited use items etc.

And IMHO the Dry Top map is very well done. Marionette was too (just not permanent). Unfortunately that stuff is nowhere near large enough to be called expansion.

Nothing new here. The game is build around the gem store. Its easier for ANet to utilise existing assets, re-skin, sell boosters and play the Trading Post from their end implementing features that further boost the price of the most desired items. Its all part of the ANet/ NC Soft business plan.

I would be more than happy to drop 50-100 $ for a new continent or expansion … but obviously its much easier to collect that amount of money for a precursor.

Gratz on the MF win. I would sell the precursor and buy one for your main Necro. Thats what you play 80% of the time. If you have a legendary already on him/ her … play the market as mentioned above.

I think that description is appropriate. Being patient for a change to obtain a precursor in a different manner is indicative of an unwillingness to put the effort in to do what everyone else has done to obtain one. Because of the position people have put themselves in, they think it should be different for them. Isn’t that what entitlement is? Expecting something because of position?

And I Think you are way out of line calling it entitlement. I could call you entitled … but i don’t. see below why.

The fact is that it was way easier for earlier players to get a precursor. During the Kraka event 50% of participants got one. Unfortunately the execution of the event was a disaster (lag, DCs). Many “features” ANet implements make it harder to get the precursor (wardrobe) … although they stated the opposite.

The increased prices does in no way reflect the increase in potential earning. Which means it’s getting harder and harder for players … unless credit card is used. ArenaNet (and players) simply needs to decide if this is the way how GW should work?!

And off-topic: I could call it “entitled” that people who got the legendary and precursors very easy/ cheap early on now insist that it should get harder and harder over time. This is IN NO WAY "indicative of an unwillingness to put the effort in to do what everyone else has done ".

Can it stay? Yes.
Should it stay? No, bc ethics, a fair go and equal opportunities should have a place in entertainment/ MMO.

Prices went up so much because of changes that ANET did.

pls read below. This is from Oct 2012 when precursor were dirt cheap compared to now.

Linsey Murdock posted ArenaNet’s official response to those questioning the rate in which legendary precursors were being created:

We’ve seen players discussing the topic of crafting legendary precursor weapons and claiming that we’ve made changes to make this more difficult. We’d like to be clear that we did not make any across the board changes to reduce the drop rate, nor was it our intention to significantly increase the difficulty in acquiring these precursor weapons.

We have been watching the prices climbing on Legendary precursors and share your concerns about some of them becoming too expensive. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make any adjustments we feel are necessary.

Precursor system can not stay as it is. GW2 was advertised as a non sub game and everybody can take a break from time to time. I took a break the last 5 months. Precursor prices tripled. If this continues nobody will be able to afford them without using a CC … or play Auction House 2 not gw2.

Also ANet stated more than a yr ago that they feel Pre prices are too high and consider crafting. Really? Priced probably went up 5-10 times since then. What does Anet do? Implement a wardrobe system which triples the prices?! Well done Anet, gg? Is the business model now is to sell gems for precursors instead of developing expansion?

New players have basically 0 chance getting 1.
I have 50/50 HoM. A few 80 Chars, 2x world completion, +5k AP and have never seen a precursor. I could easily buy one via CC, but that would feel like cheating and i would regret it. No thanks.

Maybe a 6 monthly Kraka event would be an option. Think about 50% of ppl got 1 out of that event.

Will this be a once off event like the kraka invasion … or in short, do I need to apply for annual leave?

calling it now: Entire GW2 as of now is what pre was in GW1 … the real game starts after LS season 1 ends

I preferred previous vids from Mike o’brien and the content directors. obviously these were not live. Also have a look what Chris Roberts is doing at Star Citizen. He is not a pro actor or anything. but he is a passionate developer and decent communicator. anyhow, my personal preference …

I have always trouble running past enemies in the long corridors. I normally try Time Warp and Mantra of Concentration. It does work sometimes, but I die way to often and delay the entire groups.

any tips on skills, weapon set, traits for this dungeon?

Asc mats are account bound.

• Can ascended wpn be traded / traded at TP?
• I choose jeweller and leatherworker … do i need to re-skill to get an sc weapon … other options?
• Will there be asc jewellery / armour soon?

- do ALL Gold Sellers hack account? some? most?
- why not make “legit” gold sellers (no bots, no hacking) part of the economy, a-net sells gold (gems), why cant the players? that would make the economy much broader/ stable
- … or allow players to convert gems to real money … only way to get a “non-manipulated” economy.

Ofc a-net would need to be able to REALLY ban all bots & hackers …. quickly.
