All of these updates looks fantastic so far! I’m so excited that tooltips (should) now have accurate information. I suggested that months ago, glad it’s finally coming.

That said, this is still my primary concern:

“-Are you still looking at a way to have conditions stack past 25? AFAIK the last response indicated that this is a technical hurdle and fixing it would be difficult since it is a network issue
-Are there any plans to have conditions work on mobs that are considered structures? (i.e. teq, kitten, golem)

Conditions are so fun, but they’re really weak in any group bigger than 5.

After completing World 1, zones 1 and 2, I exited SAB back to Rata Sum so I could trade in my baubles. I then returned to the Hub wanting to start zone 3, but the option wasn’t available. The only explanation for that I can think of as to why I can’t enter zone 3 is that I left during the countdown period after defeating the boss in zone 2. I did defeat him however, and collected my King Toad Z-2 token as normal.

Any way to fix this or do I have to redo all of zone 2?

Maybe the access to it is not open yet since it might require a glove upgrade further down the road. (A Dev noted that there are 3 versions of the glove that will eventually be released.)

That would certainly make sense. Though if it’s true, I wish they wouldn’t allow us to open the wall with bombs, else people like me waste an hour or two trying to figure it out.

I’ve found a secret in World 1, Zone 3 and I can’t find any information on it online. I think no one else has discovered it, or published anything on it. However, I’m stuck trying to fully get into the secret area.

What I’ve discovered so far is a cannon(like the ones in the SAB hub) behind a wall at the very beginning of zone 3. So, I tried to climb my way up to it. I’ve made it to the platform above ground level, on the right side of the area when facing ahead toward the next checkpoint. On this platform, I opened a secret door with a bomb and it revealed a pushable block in the way. The problem is, I can’t push it. I have the ‘push’ skill unlocked from world 2, but it simply doesn’t interact with the block. I’ve tried bombing other areas around the block to maybe open another way in, or somehow allow me to make the block move, but nothing seems to work.

Anyway, I encourage anyone interested to try and solve it, because I’m pretty stuck. Post in this thread if you make any progress!

Tooltip Update

Many times while trying to figure out a build I would like to play, I read through various skill and trait tooltips. Unfortunately, I’ve learned that many of the tooltips are vague, misleading, or just plain wrong. It’s becoming a real hassle to have to search the gw2 wiki to make sure certain things currently work as stated in the tooltips, and it would be awesome if these could be updated to reflect how they actually work.

Examples of ‘bad’ tooltips:

  • Blood/Rending curse(Necromancer Scepter 1) applies 5 seconds of bleeding, not 4.
  • Arcane Blast/Wave(Elementalist Skills) display incorrect damage, considerably higher than actual values.
  • Many passive movement speed signets say 25% on the tooltip but 10% on the boon icon. It’s also not stated anywhere that movement speed increases don’t stack.
  • Many traits that apply boons/conditions don’t specify how long or how many stacks they apply, for example Barbed Precision(Necromancer Trait)- "Critical hits have a 66% chance to cause bleeding. "
  • Soothing Mist(Elementalist Trait)- “Regenerate health while attuned to water.” Doesn’t say how much healing it does(It’s not the same at the regeneration boon) nor that it also applies this effect to nearby allies.
  • Healing Ripple(Elementalist Trait)- “Heal nearby allies when attuning to water.” Again, doesn’t say how much healing.

This list could be expanded to dozens of tooltips for each class. Not having specific information about your skills available in game makes it nearly impossible to try and create a personal build for your class and playstyle; thus cookie-cutter builds found from google searches become the only way to make a reasonably good build.

Tl;dr, Tooltips are lacking much needed details to provide players with enough information to make decisions about their skills and trait choices.

P.S. This is probably more of a complaint than a suggestion, but there wasn’t a forum category for that.

Tears of Itlaocol

Just tried it again, lit one of the right torches, but can’t work out the other one.

That pattern doesn’t work:

I had the same problem, 3 torches lit no problem, but I couldn’t get the 4th to light. Out of desperation I logged out and back in, tried it once more and it worked no problems.

I think(not sure) this is done on purpose to prevent people from buying fairly priced items with bad runes, putting a good rune in them, and selling them for profit. I could definitely be wrong.

Condition Duration on Tooltips - Blood Curse

The Necromancer’s scepter 1 skill, Blood Curse, displays a tooltip of a 4 second bleed. The actual bleed applied lasts 5 second without any condition duration effects.

This also impacts the way condition duration effects Blood Curse’s bleed. So, with 20% longer bleeding duration from the Curse trait, the bleed ticks for 6 seconds(6 ticks). If the duration were calculated from a base of 4 seconds, 20% would only increase the duration of the bleed by .8 seconds, resulting in 5.8 seconds(5 ticks). Because of this, I’m assuming it’s just an error in the tooltip.

Edit: I forgot to mention that condition duration obtained from Runes in gear is not displayed on the tooltip where as C.D. from traits is.

This seems to be a known bug; I’ve seen players mention it being wrong, and it’s on the GW2 wiki, but I couldn’t find any official posts on the forums concerning this error(I could be mistaken, the forum’s search bar is very specific).

Here are a few images to display the problem, although I don’t know if they’ll help as it’s a pretty basic error. In the 3rd image I have 2 sets of runes which should increase my condition duration by 30%.

It’s a known bug that runes don’t update the duration of boons/conditions on the tooltip, but they do work in game. Have you tested Save Yourselves to see if it is working correctly?

Couldn’t the cattlepult simply be available all the time, regardless of the event? The only other area that I can remember which needed an event to fully explore the zone was the Skrittburgh Tunnels in Brisban Wildlands. It doesn’t fix the event being bugged, but it would allow the players having trouble to move on with our zone/world completion.

I remember having this problem on a different character months ago, so I’m just becoming impatient =/
