http://www.gw2score.com/index.php?action=home Actually found this site when MoS was down one day, really like all the extra data.
The data is pretty revealing. AR’s BL is targeted 10% more than all of EB……
If this is what you’re looking at: http://www.gw2score.com/index.php?action=server&id=Anvil%20Rock
I think it means your server focuses more on your own borderland than EB and on the other 2 borderlands the least (which makes sense to me).
Ah, yeah I think you’re right. I went into each of GOM and DR, and it shows a pretty even split of time spent in your BL vs. EB. The title “Borderland Focus” is a bit confusing.
Great data though. Thanks Dov.
Edit: It does show DR spends an “unusual” amount of time in AR’s BL as compared to GOMs. Interesting……

Well it was a good try AR. We (DR) saw you guys trebbing sm so we did the same. Fought for awhile inside and gom wiped both our groups a few times. So we went to hit there side of the map while u focused on sm. In the end gom had enough people to take on both our servers at the same time must be nice. Just so all you gom know we (DR) had the outmanned buff in eb 2 hours after Friday night restart. We have had outmanned buff pretty much atleast 70% of this matchup so far in eb which is all I really play.
That was good fun, and grats to GOM for holding us all off. We got into the Lord room a few times but the AOE was brutal and wow….the numbers GOM had were impressive.
Speaking of those numbers, glad to hear that GOM is “converting” their PvE crowd. When PvE folks come to WvW and have a positive experience like yours are (i.e. winning!!!), they tend to have fun and stick around. Our PvE folks, on the other hand, are coming in and for the most part getting rolled over by the zergfromhell, and off they go back to PvE. Sigh….. At least we are Outnumbered pretty much 24/7, so with no repair cost we can Leroy Jenkins!!!! into battle just for the ROFLs.
Still a good match though as both opposing servers don’t seem to have a lot of the kittens who like to hack, corpse dance, etc. Everyone seems to be keeping it fun and legit, which is a nice break from servers we’ve played in the past who come onto the forum and brashly state how easy it is to hack and how they’ll keep doing it because they can and Anet can’t stop them………
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
Your inference is your own thing man. My comment was for those of us at GoM who are genuinely as shocked as anybody, that we went from last place with horrible turnout, to some sort of craziness where we are sitting on queues. I’m not self congratulating, I am just commenting how insane it is that we, one week ago, would lose everything over the night and during the day, and then when we all get home from work would have to take it all back. This is how it’s been going for months. So, to see 600 points a tick when we’d normally have like 50, is very very weird. Just because you put a negative spin on it, doesn’t mean I did. I said, and will say again, we are winning by sheer numbers, not skill at the moment, not sure how I can be any more clear than that.
This may be due to the “sale” on transfers combined with the start of leagues. I think peeps on larger pop servers want a chance to win their matches vs. getting pummeled on their old server, so they did the math, picked the likely top server for each match, and spent their 800 gems. If true, enjoy your new-found zergness (along with the queues……who’d a thunk a lower rank server would have queues beyond the weekend???). As long as Anet continues to make it cheap to xfer, the wild population fluctuations will likely continue.
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
“The goal of this map is to provide a place for the thousands of people who queue daily to be able to experience the WvW experience rather than being left out. "
Queues. I know this word (although it is spelled oddly), and it’s use, but I have no context with which to apply it to my WvW gaming experience on AR. Odd that Anet would address a thing that some of us never experience, yet leave truly impactful matters to gather dust (like, new clothes for those poor Skrit….I mean have you SEEN what they are forced to wear!?!? Heartbreaking…..). O.o

I don’t get this. Other servers are trying to steal our spot in bronze, and we are the bad guys for taking it back?
I also said if NSP plays to its fullest and places in bronze, I have no quarrel with that. As the system placed NSP to where it belongs. Trying to alter numbers because of the fear of getting hammered in silver shouldn’t be endorsed, at all.
^ This is my point. Some of us are tanking so that we DO get to where the system would have us belong. OTHER servers are causing us to go to silver. It is NOT of our doing. If Kaineng, HoD, and NSP had ALL tried this week, NSP would be in bronze. End of story. Do you understand?
Also any huge numbers you see on NSP diminish as soon as we start losing, because of the casual, untrained nature of our playerbase.
We are a LOT closer in strength to the bronze servers than the silver servers.
From what I’ve heard, Kaineng isn’t “tanking”, they’re in free fall like we (AR) were a while back. That leaves NSP and HOD, but it looks like at least a few NSP have decided to stop throwing the match and play to the server’s potential. No clue what HOD is up to…….
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
but EB seems to be focusing largely on Kaineng since they see that as well and and want to push them down to Bronze.
Looking at the current rating, evolution, and projected ratings, I don’t think there’s anything EBay can do to “push them down to Bronze”. Looking at the numbers and matches, this appears to be in NSP and HoD’s hands, not EBay’s. I guess we’ll know soon enough who “won” by losing……
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
I feel sorry for NSP. They are tanking to be in Bronze, and I can safely say that +600 for two weeks straight on SBI was boring. I have had more fun this week getting rolled by SoR than the past 2 weeks of rolling.
Looks like SBI might slip down into silver, unless we somehow hold onto a gold spot during the week. Either way it is a tough spot to be in. Roll or be rolled.
NSP, I know that not all of you are tanking, and there are competitors on every sever. But, for the ones that are, I would advise you to stop. Rolling servers gets boring.
It’s Anet’s version of The Biggest Loser. NSP vs. HoD vs. Kaineng. Right now, NSP is winning at losing, but man Kaineng is trying hard! Except, just like in all good “reality” TV, the producer (Anet) has attempted to influence the outcome by pushing a T5 server down to T8 in the last match. Oooo…..the drama!! Thanks Anet. >:(
Honestly, we faced kaineng recently and they weren’t really that stacked anymore. Some of them might be trying to tank, but, most likely they suffered too many transfers to be competitive anymore.
Kaineng should still be roflstomping HoD, but since HoD is one of the contenders in The Biggest Loser, you get the Loser competition.
Ebay should toss a wrench into their plans and go PvE this week. It’s not like the WvW’ing is gonna be any fun, unless they like sitting in towers for days on end with no one to fight.
Go check out their matchup thread. Pretty much confirms what these guys are up to……
Uh no. The week prior we beat HoD (barely) and only because we had an oceanic force we no longer have as of this week (check score evolution in how we did in NA prime vs out of prime timeslots). Our last large oceanic guild transferred off before reset, and on Saturday we lost another large NA guild to IoJ. With our current force we cannot beat HoD in a head to head.
Then I’m sorry to hear of your fall, because we (AR) went through it and it ain’t fun.
That leaves HoD and NSP slapping it out for title of Biggest Loser (Anet version). Who can tank the best??? We’ll know in a few days, so don’t change that dial!!!! Ugh……

To follow up on the DC/lag issue, are folks still having this happen? I was happy to find that even during the big fight in SM last night that I didn’t DC and lag was tolerable. Maybe it’s fixed?
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
I haven’t been on since the weekend but I wasn’t able to play in EB. Never had lag issues in EB since day 1 until this weekend. It wasn’t too many players lag either it’s something with the servers. Possibly why they just suspended WvW play.
This is exactly my experience as well. Never had a problem in EB before, even during huge SM battles, but since this matchup, EB can get unplayable with DC after DC. Sad panda…..
I wonder if Anet stealthed in some new code to try to address the speed hacking issue (which is getting out of hand) and screwed up the server sync?
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
(edited by Thorson.9218)
To HoD and ET, are you all lagging REALLY badly in EB too? It’s been ridiculous for us (AR). I DC many times per day, regardless of being near SM. Just trying to get into the zone from LA I will DC. I’ve reported this to Anet, but if you are having as much trouble as we are, it may help our mutual cause if more people opened service tickets on it (don’t complain on the forum, just open a service ticket about being DC’d many times or severe lag throughout the zone). Thanks.
P.S. I’ve had no trouble at all in any of the BL, this is just happening in EB.

What I’ve said is not inflammatory or defamatory (not sure which you meant), it’s simply observations that myself and a lot of others have witnessed.

What I’ve found is most zergs (true zergs….40+) are comprised of lots of newbs learning the wuvwuv ropes in a relatively “safe” and fun environment (T5 and below….higher tiers have some very well-coordinated zergballsofdeath). They can mow down enemy players with relative ease since they have 10 other people beating the kitten out of them too, so their confidence is pretty high. Nothing wrong with this, and we all likely did the exact same thing the first time we stepped into GW2 WvW. But (and it’s a big butt….. ), if they’re pressed, then it gets ugly fast. Pandemonium ensues and it becomes a newbie beat-down. This happens a LOT in these lower tiers. It doesn’t mean that server X is filled with “bads”, it just means their zerg train of newbs got roflstomped. No need to come here and proclaim a server “can’t fight”. That’s just rude and inflammatory, and doG knows we don’t want any of THAT in this thread……

No one in their right mind would go near HP at this point. They are squarely in Anet’s crosshairs and if a member did anything that even smelled like a hack they’d likely get a crit from the banhammer…..but GL with your efforts.

+1 glad to see you guys show up this week and keep things competitive! i hope your trend continues
Thanks, but just to be clear, it’s not like we choose to not “show up”. Our Wuvwuv population was decimated thanks to one very large guild leaving being followed by a large number of smaller guilds, and it looks like, maybe, hopefully, last week marked the bottom of our fall and we’re starting to rebound. The remaining band of miscreants has brought it each and every week, even when we’ve only had 10 players on the map (I started on AR 8 months ago and that’s where I’ll stay).
Now that our Wuvwuv numbers seem to be growing again, we’ll continue to bring what we can, hopefully with more weight. What I’m interested in seeing is if that just means MOAR ZERG, or if we learned through those months of decline that good play and good tactics >> huge mobs. I roll with [TFH] and from what I see of them, there’s hope.
And an early congrats to FC for a win this week. Granted, it comes at the expense of our BL, but that’s what it’s all about. /salute

Also, thanks to Darek and the rest of FC for helping us out on this!

Kudos to you guys for making the effort to clean up your server.
Sadly, what this also means is in spite of rumor to the contrary, Anet has NOT been able to implement a client-side scanner that can successfully detect and report the existence of these hacks. This is surprising given the popularity of the set of hacks that are available pretty much everywhere. I would have thought (and hoped) that Anet could analyze their code and relatively easily implement a detector within the client. That would end this BS and let us get back to killing each other in an honest and civilized way.
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
@Qualamala: I think it’s a combination of some transfers from t1 who’ve be extremely proactive in recruiting for their wvw guild, open tactics training (so everybody on the server learns), and playing nonstop with our existing player base. all the success that that’s created has attracted all the random pugs wanting to actually play wvw that quit when everybody left and we got weeks of spawn camping.
There may have been some other transfers too, but i can’t imagine why at this point. we’re def. on the upswing though.
This ^^^^
I’m seeing a lot of players that I haven’t seen before, and a few new commanders are popping up. I can only assume they’re transfers, because some are quite good and are bringing solid tactics to the map in addition to adding to the growing WvW numbers. I’ve never been part of so many portal bombs in one evening as I was last night. Sorry GoMmies trying to retake SM. (OK, I’m not really sorry, ’cause Steve is right, you and SF were probably the worst of the spawn-camping, zerg-rolling lot as we fell and finally hit bottom, so every one of you I spike I do so with greater satisfaction).

OK OK…..enough of this “You guys are double teaming us!!!!” whining.
I have an idea. Admittedly, it’s not a new idea, but it’s an idea none the less. WAYYYY back when we (AR) were stuck in our months of hell with Ebay and BP, the commanders of the 2 smaller servers (AR and BP) got together and had a night of “cooperation” where we coordinated attacks on EBay. For 3 hours we focused, together, on Ebay……and finally kicked them completely off of EB. Keep in mind this was a while back when Ebay was a much bigger server than today, and BP much smaller. It was no small feat to get this done. The QQ’ing on the forums and buckets of e-tears from Ebay was epic. We all needed umbrellas just to stay dry.
But here’s the thing. MOST (not all obviously) of the players from ALL 3 SERVERS had the absolute best time of the 3+ months we were matched up. Ebay actually got PUSHED by their opponents. And their opponents got to put the smack down on the evil tyrant. At the end of the day (literally….the alliance only lasted about 3 hours), it was a huge success.
So….here’s my proposal. We’re in T8. We aren’t going anywhere any time soon. We keep getting paired with at least one large server, which means there are 2 smaller ones. Let’s have a “cooperation night” where the 2 smaller servers put it to the larger one. Kick ‘em off EB. Turn their BL the “wrong” colors. Whatever. But…..we won’t tell them what night it will be. It will be glorious!!!! Sure, there will be the WHAAAAmbulance drivers who will come here and cry their rivers of e-tears over it, but MOST of us will have a great time.
So there you go. It’s out there. Commanders do what you want with it. The beauty of putting it out there is now the “big” servers in the match will never know…..hey, are those guys working together?!?!? Muahahahaaaaaaa……..

we’ve pretty much given up.
Speak for yourself :P
Gotta +1 this.
We play Outnumbered 99% of the time in EB and frequently in our own BL, but as a server we have not and will not “give up”. Yes, many new players come into WvW, get discouraged, and leave. That’s just where we are right now. But if you’ve been a part of AR WvW for 6+ months, you will have seen good times (T5, 14-15th ranked server), bad times (plummet to 24th ranked server), and now the slow growth back (still 24th ranked because we can’t catch a break thanks to the RNG of Doom…..we keep getting paired with at least one large-population server that just rolls over us with 2, 3, 4x our numbers, but we are slowly growing our WvW population).
Hang in there. Many servers have fallen like this, and they bounce back. We will too.

you glitched inside a tower to look for holes around the tower.
you realize you have to get inside the tower to know whether or not there’s a hole right?
Just two fast questions about this.
Why did you both feel it was necessary to look for the holes(The Necro had already gotten into the tower, why get in with the guardian as well)?
What would have happened if I was not on my scheduled rounds that match and caught you two at the wall?we’d go to the next tower like we had been doing
Anet knows all about the places people are glitching into keeps/towers. We had an Anet-badged player with us on a few occasions so they could see first hand where these spots were. Eventually they’ll get fixed, but until then they don’t need your help.
If you’re caught glitching into a structure, the CoC is pretty clear that you’re taking advantage of an exploit, which is ban-able. Given that you’ve already been reported at least once, you’re risking your account by continuing to do it, but I guess that’s your business. Just don’t cry when the ban-hammer comes down on your head.

“working as intended”
You should read the patch notes where a dev briefly lists the base regen and with 1500 healing power.
Solid base regen, poor scaling with healing power.
Working as intended.
Ah, good to know, but sad to hear.
TY.
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
At 100 Healing Power (HP) I’m seeing Healing Signet heal for 400/s. I decided to try increasing my HP by 1000, so its’ now at 1100. Healing Signet is now healing for roughly 450/s. This seems to be scaling via the same math as Condition Damage (CD) (if I increase my CD from 1000 to 2000, I see about a 50pt increase in my bleed damage). This doesn’t seem right given the Warrior’s high health pool. Putting that many pts into HP should yield a much higher return from Healing Signet.
In contrast, if I increase my HP on my Guardian from 300 to 1300, where I saw basically no benefit at 300 from my traited Selfless Daring (heal on dodge roll), at 1300 I see between 1500-2000 healing!
Obviously it would be OP to have the Warrior’s Healing Signet heal for 1000+/sec, but an increase of only 50pts with a 1000pt increase in HP just seems…..wrong. So I ask, is this “working as intended”, or is there a bug in the Healing Signet code?

You can’t ever say AR backs down from fights again HoD.
50 man zerg vs 10 man group. You even had the audacity to BOW at us.
I cant believe it’s only monday
I thought they did that because they felt we put up a good fight and stayed to the end. I found it honorable, not audacious. A rare thing for sure, so I for one appreciated it (as I lay dead, twice, in the Lord room….good thing Outnumbered = no repair cost).

third attempt hod zerg? lol how many golems u waste so far? and another wipe for hod zerg how many more golems u got left in u :P
They did the same to us at our keep. On their 2nd attempt (first attempt didn’t go so well….a few omegas and 4-5 alphas all died) they brought a bigger zerg and yet more golems (all died…again) and finally got the keep WW Z style, but I’m guessing it cost > 10g in golems to do it. Ouch. We did pretty well considering we were Outnumbered the whole time (heck, we’re Outnumbered 24/7 in EB so this was no different). Fun stuff!!!

Hey guys. Wanted to go ahead & post this here. I’ve been considering it for a while, and over the last several weeks have had many offers from other servers to transfer to theirs. I’ve even had a few of them offer to pay for my way, just wanted to say thanks & that I appreciate all your support. However, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to transfer to Ebay. I have a lot of friends here, many of which have been wanting me to come over for quite a while now. I enjoyed my time in AR, the roaming has been fun for me. But after actually starting to play WvW a little bit (you know, trying to help the server, at least a little) I’ve become more & more disheartened. It’s difficult to actually play, and I just wasn’t having that much fun anymore. That’s what it’s all about, so I transferred over a few hours ago. I know a lot of people in AR will be happy to see me go (most of WAR, at least, I’m sure), but for the few that don’t totally hate me, it’s been fun playing with you all. Keep up the good fight. This week’s terrible matchup was a big factor in me leaving, I told myself I’d stay if we got ET/FC/AR. Since we instead got two giant, zergy servers, I considered that my calling. However, due to this bad draw, your chances of actually getting ET & FC next week are higher, so good luck! I know you will all keep going strong. I will transfer back someday! In fact, I have to, I forgot my 7,000 koi cakes in my guild vault, so it’s a promise. I’m sure you will be a much stronger server when I come back. Keep givin’ em hell, even if it’s only a little of it.
Geez Zane. Ebay?!?! Really?!?! Of ALL the servers you could have gone to, you went to the tools who trolled the kitten out of us for MONTHS?!?!
If you come back, I’ll kill you myself. Not sure how, but I’ll find a way.

For a sum damage from conditions alone of 7187 per second on a moving target; direct damage adds in around another 400 per second. Subtract 670 if the target isn’t moving. This doesn’t take into account might from other players or additional direct damage added by vulnerability, so it can go higher.Umm….I think you need to look at the math again. You are not doing > 7k damage PER SECOND. Based on your numbers above, you’re doing 1685 damage per second max from conditions. Still a very good number, and it is amazing how fast it drops people (I run a S/S LB condi warrior), but 7k p/sec would be a bit OP.
And to the OP, yeah, it depends on your play style and other weapon. I run S/S LB so I’m full condi, but it’s laughable how long it takes to destroy things like siege (rams, etc) that aren’t affected by condis. My direct damage is like being hit by a 4 week old kitten. Paint will dry before I will kill a trebuchet. Sad. But against players, 1600+ DPS just from condis is nothing to sneeze at, and the condis are so easy to apply it doesn’t matter if they cleanse round 1, because round 2 is coming at ’em.
Took me a few seconds to figure out how you came up with the 1685 number. No condition spec not even warrior will ever just have 1 bleed on a target. While i really dont think many people will ever come close to the 7k from the post you quoted they will certainly be higher than 1.6k
Ah, you’re right. I was looking at his numbers and didn’t register the x25 as 25 stacks, which I think is what you’re talking about. So yep, I was wrong, and the real number will be somewhere between the min I posted and the max Dingle posted. Thx for catching that.

But against players, 1600+ DPS just from condis is nothing to sneeze at, and the condis are so easy to apply it doesn’t matter if they cleanse round 1, because round 2 is coming at ’em.

Who set AR’s kitten on fire this morning (Friday 10am NA PDT)? They have their BL and have turned EB almost entirely blue?!?!? Have I entered some odd alternate reality?

I personally run at a little over 1,200 Healing Power, but I can imagine 900 and up working just fine as long as you’re able to replace those 300 points with enough damage to make it worth it. I feel like anything can work as long as you practice with it enough, though.
Thanks Chris. That gives me a bit of “wiggle room” as I try to find some balance. Right now 1200 is working well for staying up, but I have very little crit chance (4%) and crit damage is low (10%). I’ll see about moving closer to 1000HP and see if I can’t get closer to 30% crit chance (with Fury that gets me to 50%) with a bit more crit bonus damage. At least now I have some idea of where to tweak things.
EDIT: In case this may help anyone else, while it may not seem like a lot, dropping down to 1000HP does make a noticeable difference in the ability to heal through a lot of damage. At least for ME, I think 1200 is going to be a minimum and I may go to 1400, assuming there’s no soft cap.

thorston, i think it may come down to preference. personally, i like seeing big green numbers and keeping my frontliners up. for me, my regen has to tick for 300+ and Empower has to heal for 3k+. every dodge roll heal should heal for 1800-2k, and ToC #1 spam heals for 2k. but i have 1600 HP with stacks and thats the extreme.
vitality makes no difference for this build due to the huge healing output and high protection uptime. i have dived many 40-man zergs with my frontliners, bunkered 4-5 AC’s and a cannon, and been on the receiving end of huge portal bombs, all with 14k hitpoints, and lived easily. in fact, im always the last one standing.
so the real question is do you want more damage or utility? i say leave the dps to your buddies who have knights/PVT gear, and just focus on CC’ing with staff/hammer, blast finishing, and on keeping everyone up.
Thanks for the reply Mistsim.
Given our very small WvW population, I rarely have a lot of buddies in my group, or any group at all. As a result I find I’m fighting alone a LOT of the time, so I need to rely on my own ability to stay up and put the other guys down. Hence the need for balance.
I did just swap my gear around again (full clerics) and will do some roaming and see how it goes. My HP is 1200 with this setup and the healing is very good, but the question I’ll need to answer is can I do enough damage to actually accomplish anything (take a control pt against NPC + players, take an upgraded camp before help arrives, etc).
Does anyone have experience with this? I.e. not relying on others to do the damage and still being “viable” in WvW?
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
Thanks Chris for reposting this and for shooting a new video. Excellent stuff!
Now a question for you and others who have spent time with this build. At what level of Healing Power are the build and mechanics no longer viable?
I ask because I’ve spent time with a build very similar to this, and like others, I’ve wanted (actually needed) a bit more DPS so I can down enemies faster before their buddies arrive (I play on a low WvW pop server and we are Outnumbered 99% of the time, regardless of map). The challenge is to get the balance right, and I can tell you that <500 HP doesn’t work. So in your experience, where’s the line? 800HP? 1000? Or is 1200+ really where it has to be?
Thanks for your time.

How better to celebrate a 15 v 1 after an hour siege on a paper tower with 4 to 1 odds, than to /e spam. Keep it classy DR.
“Keep it classy DR”???? Not possible. As I type this they (about 20’ish) have set up siege at our EB spawn and 2 Legends and 1 Colonel P/D Thief are hopping around like little rabbits trying for easy kills. I call that out because these are the folks who really should be “leaders” on their server. LOL. Instead, for some odd reason, they keep turning into pink Moa birds and running away. Curios……
And before the “pro-tip” police show up, yes, we ALL know there are multiple ways out of the spawn area. That doesn’t excuse the behavior, and besides, I really enjoyed farming them. I had to keep going back to the merchants to sell my loot. Thanks!

yea we just dont need people vaguely stating so-and-so is really bad. there’s a difference between competitive trash-talking and being an kittenhole.
Completely agree.
Let’s face it, down here in T7/8, there are going to be a high percentage of new players who are just trying to figure WvW out. Coming onto the forum and spouting off about “you bad”, blah blah blah just looks ridiculous. There are some really good players on each server, and LOTS of new players, so there will be a huge variation in what everyone experiences. Chest thumping in T8 about “you bad” is, yeah, just being a kittenhead.

Well, let me tell you guys a tale of how 4 ungrouped people can beat 20+. I honestly don’t remember which map it was because most of the time I don’t know. However, it was the borderland where DR is in the SW corner.
So I was roaming around as usual, and I roll up to the SWT which was owned by FC and see some siege up and a Siegerazer. With my awesome map awareness, I figure someone is doing a breakout and I should just steer clear. However, upon closer inspection, it was not quite what I thought.
It turned out it was five or so AR building the siege, but the Siegerazer actually belonged to DR but had, for whatever reason, been abandoned and left to stand in front of the tower alone. After seeing this, I, and another DR or two, killed them and started to leave.
As we were leaving, in rolls quite a decent zerg. My first reaction is to run, but they don’t seem to care about us at all. The zerg mostly ignores us and starts trying to build siege and kill Siegerazer. Now, as you might know, Siegerazer is a pretty tough guy. It ends up with about a third of the zerg downed, another third trying to mass rez, and the remaining still trying to kill him.
During this time, we DR were of course keeping ourselves busy. I was rez bombing every time my cds were up, and the others were doing what their classes were best at. A handful of times some of the 80s would try to kill us, but they either died or quickly gave up and went back to rezzing.
Eventually, the damage outpaced their rezzing (especially after they started trying to mass hard rez), and their numbers dwindled, and eventually they were all dead.
During this fight, I had very little pressure on me. I was pretty much left to DPS freely. I said repeatedly that I didn’t do anything impressive in this fight, and that was true. We didn’t win because the four of us happened to be GW2 gods. We won because that commander led zerg tried to facetank Siegerazer while four people bombed them over and over and over.
This is how this reads:
I don’t know where I was, I have awesome map awareness, but don’t know where I am or where my spawn is. And yeah, by the way, they had mostly uplevels (and honestly there probably weren’t 20+) and we had a champion NPC on our side.sadly enough his tale is mostly accurate. the numbers are slightly off on our side we probably had maybe 10-12 but they all had a wild hair to kill siegerazer instead of trying to get into the tower (we wiped the group doing the breakout prior to these guys showing up, that bit was pretty fun). sometimes folks get distracted by the silliest of things… like big champ npcs that they’re not going to kill (and is responsible for 99% of our wipe not these guys though they did annoy us by spiking our remaining rezzers keeping us from moving when it became apparent that that objective was going to be impossible in present company) despite being told repeatedly that they’re not going to kill it and to come build these rams and take this tower :S
OK, this is just too funny. Thx to Janx, we now know what REALLY happened. The story melts down to “we ganked some noobs who were messing with Siegerazer” vs. the story the OP wanted us to believe of how “bad AR is”.
I’m going to be laughing about this for a while. What a lame story, and to get caught at it! ROFL!!!!

The Quality Maintenance Oil has shown Power since Beta. Just a text error.
Thought it was fixed….and now is back. Perhaps not.
Either way, it didn’t show up in a search so I thought I’d report it.
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
Seems Quality Maintenance Oil’s stat was switched to Power, the same as the Sharpening Stones. It should be Precision. This changed as of the most recent patch. I assume it’s a bug……
EDIT: More testing on this shows that Precision is actually being changed, even though both the oil info AND the buff bar show Power as being affected.

I got some flak for criticizing Anvil Rock in an earlier post. I just participated in killing an AR zerg of 20+ with I think four people open field (albiet with some npc help). We weren’t in a group or anything, just a few other people who happened to be in the same area. I have literally never seen worse play in the entire time I have been playing this game.
The last time I saw something like this, I was a fairly fresh lvl 50 paladin still running in the zerg. The premier gank group of the time, CKD, bombed said zerg, killing more than 100 of the people around me. When they finally died, I was stunned. While I waited for mana regen to rez, I asked my group (who had all died asides from me), how the hell could so many people die to so few? No one said a word. That was a bit over 10 years ago.
That was what watching these people die felt like.
100 died and only you lived.
20+ killed by you and 3 other random players.
Pardon me while I go find some tall boots. It’s getting deep in here……

Also, am I the only one experiencing strange delays/lag/fps drops and just general weirdness since the last patch? It’s really really frustrating to play right now, even when there aren’t that many players around, but much worse when there are many.
It’s not just you. I’ve seen several players lag out with only a handful of players around since the recent patch.

Very impressed with AR on Saturday night (Eastern standard time)! It seems like a much different reset atmosphere than last weeks. Overall good weekend. Pretty even!
Thanks Red.
Yes, Saturday was amazing for us. It was a brief glimpse of the “good old days” and a big morale booster for everyone. We had all of our BL, all of our 3rd in EB, Stonemist, and were pushing both FC and DR in EB. Good times.
Keep it going AR!
For we will crush your bones on the Anvil Rock!
is it just me or is AR a little bit less “dead” than last week?
or maybe DR and FC are just 1v1’ing?
just a question because your “ghost town” is a little less ghostly. maybe it’s just the weekend or maybe you are gaining momentum or both?
I have no point to make, I’m just curious.
We seem to be gaining a VERY small bit of momentum as the new additions are staying around longer than just the weekend. As you’ve noted, it helps tremendously. Let’s see if it continues.

You have to admit, it’s a pretty clever solution. I mean, who isn’t going to smile when someone rages on the forum and they say something like “next time I see you I’m going to kick you right in the kitten!”. That’s just funny.
Oh, and ignore Shanks….the rest of us do.

Not really looking forward to this week. AR was nothing special and while I don’t know FC, from what I’ve seen so far, I’m not expecting much from them either.
.
.
I actually am relatively new to DR. Been here a while now, but didn’t play for months after transferring. I was however here for one of the recent weeks where DR was matched against AR. As I said, wasn’t impressed.
You do realize AR lost most of it’s WvW population a bit over a month ago and was plummeting to last place when you faced us last time, and fight pretty much 100% of the time Outnumbered, right? O.o
Even so we managed to take SM from you guys yesterday and hold our 3rd in EB pretty well (admittedly leaving our BL as a ghost town that FC fully leveraged, but such is life).
Not sure what more you “expect” from us. Sorry you got a bad roll (believe me, we’re totally sick of the zergs from T6-7 who wannabe T4-5), but coming here and dis’ing us because most of our WvW guilds left is either uninformed or being, well, I’m not allowed to use the “T” word or I’ll get infracted again (even though others seem to use it with impunity…..ah well), so I’ll just say “a kitten”.
