I suppose what I don’t personally understand is…..why initiate a patch during prime time hours?
I actually managed to get 5 vanilla beans from a Verdant Herb about 4 days ago. Just that once. I haven’t seen one drop before or since, from anything.
I’m another who fully supports Anet making the vanilla bean far more plentiful than it is now. Same story here as many of you. 4 to 5 literal hours of farming for ye olde V bean and…nothing. This comes right down to an effort vs. reward thing. Unless vanilla beans are used to create a truly epic recipe with eye popping, spin around in your desk chair bonuses and buffs….it needs to be made far more available. lol Pretty please, with vanilla almond cream on top?
Premixed hit the nail square on the head. They are within their rights to hang out in those things and attack other players, being in a PvP zone, but it takes so much effort to get across the puzzle in the first place that do so just to grief other players as they finally get to the other side seems…..downright childish. lol And….they’ll literally wait for hours for a single player to come in so that they may grief them. It boggles my mind.
As Premixed pointed out, these are people with power issues. I would even go as far as to say people with disturbing and very juvenile power issues.
You’re right, Rhyis, but the big difference between a warrior and a ranger’s ranged weapons is that the ranger has far more reach. A warrior’s rifle has very short range. Very short.
Kaineng does indeed have a lot of very good PvP’ers onboard. It seems that some people are influenced by server rankings. The only reason Kaineng is ranked so low is due to nothing more than low population. We need more good, dedicated players to join us!
Sick of long queue times? Help the devs out! Help those of us already there out! Transfer today! Prove you’re an outstanding PvP’er!
I dunno, it sounds nice, but I think it might frustrate a lot of folks if their server has a lot of WvW’ers and one of the servers in their grouping doesn’t because they have far more PvE’ers.
I’d definitely be down with 20 to 30 man raid groups, absolutely. It’s what my guild was rather hoping for when we all bought the game.
Noone’s “QQ’ing”. LOL “QQ’ing” has become the cliché accusation of the decade. It’s a simple fact. Kaineng WvW is practically impossible right now, cut and dried, due to being utterly outnumbered by NS. Edited to say that….I see you are on NS. lol

Coolmoos, you read a crap ton more into what I posted than was meant. I’m not mad about anything, dude. LOL This game doesn’t affect my life beyond some evening entertainment. Take your drama queen stuff somewhere else, son.
NS definitely has its share of good PvP’ers. And by “good” I mean intelligent strategy (good use of siege, etc.). There are, however, a mess ton of players on Northern Shiverpeaks who are just zerg huggers. Kaineng’s main struggle right now is simply low numbers of players. As I said, we just don’t have the numbers to compete against a server with a population the size of NS’s. It’s a massive waste of silver and effort as everything we do is washed away with the next massive zerg that comes through, which is usually about 30 to 90 seconds away.
We just want a challenge on Kaineng, to PvP. Most of us don’t seem to be concerned with score. We just want low to no queues and a good PvP challenge. As it stands right now that’s impossible.
Rekina, NS is chock full of fail players. I mean totally easy mode fail players. They are a babbling horde. I wish Arenanet would pit them against Dragonbrand or some other super high pop server. NS is ruining the WvWvW experience in our grouping. Yes, I’m a Kaineng player. We fight hard win or lose, but we just don’t have the numbers, yet, to make the least bit of progress against the insane numbers NS has on us.
Neomir, I just wanted to politely mention that Kaineng isn’t ranked as one of the lowest servers due to poorly skilled PvP’ers. It is entirely due to low population. Northern Shiverpeaks, whilst admittedly having some intelligent players who know the benefits of siege weaponry and fortification of strongholds, has one primary advantage that has nothing at all to do with skill……..sheer numbers.
They are otherwise, literally, a babbling horde. A mass of cannon fodder washing over everything in their path. You catch NS players alone one or two at a time and they run. I mean they just turn tail and flee for the hills. Even when it’s 2 of them to one of you.
Kaineng has some outstanding PvP’ers on it, hanging in there and hoping for some kind of balance. It strikes me that a lot of people are very hesitant to transfer and come help us out for no other reason than they “don’t wanna be on the ‘fail’ server”.
Tend to agree with the OP and Nick. My guild left Jade Quarry a week and a half ago for Kaineng because the queues were 2-5 hours long for WvW. Once on Kaineng we had 0 queue time and, even though we’re the underdog, we began to have some superb PvP. That is…until this last weekend when we were matched against Northern Shiverpeaks, who took 100% of all four maps. They had entrenched so well through the night that we could barely leave our spawn without being bombed with treb and ballista fire.
Not to sidetrack too much, but the imbalance in server populations can be very frustrating. Unfortunately far too many PvP’ers (in any game) are cowards and easy moders who have no desire whatsoever to actually build up a server from nothing to something respectable. They only desire to run with the babbling hoards and flood over everything with no real opposition at all. It’s human nature, alas. Still, if Arenanet can find a way to balance this they have my full support.
Edited to say that my gal and I actually hopped over to Maguuma after the NS fiasco so that we could actually PvP. We had learned that we would otherwise have to deal with that mess for an entire week, rather than just a day. I can’t personally hang out for a solid week whilst our underpopulated server is utterly dominated by another. As I said, it’s bad enough that we couldn’t even leave the spawn point.
