When you link an item in the chat of a guild you’re not representing, the message will appear in the guild chat you’re representing, not in the one you’re actually writing the message.
My Bitdefender anti-malware is blocking the link you’ve put in.
And it seems that the link has expired :_D

Not really trying to be a smart kitten , but you know what they say, “If your toe hurts when you hit it with a hammer, stop hitting it.”
Just wait an extra second when closing the windows.
I know, i know. Like i said it’s not that important, but maybe is part of another problem and it may be good that they have all their bugs tracked.
I was just doing exactly this earlier today and I did not have to move away from the NPC.
- Opened bank.
- Closed/opened guild menu (without closing bank)
- Repped another guild.
- Pressed [f] to open the second bank.
You must do it fast enough, if you wait till the guild bank window entirely closes when you represent another guild then it works properly.
I don’t think this is high priority, but it’s annoying when you’re organizing multiple guild banks.
You can see it in this video:
http://a.uguu.se/bngips_out2.mp4
If you open a guild bank and then quickly represent another guild and open its guild you will not be able to open it. In the video i hit the F key multiple and it only hints a window but it doesn’t open. You must move away from the npc to open it.
Please fix it, thanks =^_^=
pro hotfix too .. patched, char select screen, error message and throws me out immediatly

Double click on a character…BOOM…error
EDIT:
Ok, i tried just now and now it works properly :-D
For example, the Amenyte Dye code [&AgF1wQAA] is not working. I just see a blank line.
It doesn’t happen with all codes, Glob of ectoplasm [&AgEJTQAA] is working.
Maybe it’s just a problem with dye chat codes.

We are aware of some issues with the trading post. The team is looking into it, apologies for the inconvenience ^DO

A guildmate of mine also got banned. He has used WTFast because he has lag problems with his ISP but I can assure he never sold gold.
Arenanet, check your ban bot!
From time to time, the sound from the game stops working and it just plays the same sound in a loop for ever.
When that happens my fps drops to something between 7 and 15 fps.
Not only that, but when i try to close the game it doesn’t quit and i have to force it to close through the task manager doing it impossible to send any report.
This has happened to other guildmates, but i’ve suffered from this bug since the release of the game. I though that with the release of the expansion it could be the right time to finally fix this.
P.S.: this has happened to me in all kind of places and situations in the game. I’m using Windows 8.1
The “Show All Enemy Names” option in the General Options tab doesn’t show the names of the Buried Locked Chests in the Dry Top zone, although the “Show Enemy Names” that is binded by default to “Left Ctrl” does.
Is this the expected behaviour or is it a bug?
The best thing is when you read this at the beggining of the chapter:
The same here. I don’t know if this is a bug or we need to do something else…
Edit: Ok, i’m reading something about farming the instance…
This bug isn’t fixed. PLS REMOVE THIS FRACTAL UNTIL U’RE ABLE TO FIX THIS BUG!!!

P.S.: this hasn’t happened to me just now, i’ve also had this issues since you had the DDoS attack to your servers a few weeks ago. It’s like if you implemented some kind of measure to not let DDoS attacks happen again but they’re affecting users too. Just guessing

Yes, i agree. I already filled a bug report ingame.
Shhh, i think there’s something coming our way: https://api.guildwars2.com/v2
/me hides
A dev gave some insights in reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/28bhht/api_v2_release_imminent/
Tivacv2 API doesn’t add much over v1, mostly cleans things up & adds TP listings and exchange rates. We’ll see about building out more later.
TivacThey’re all built, though /v2/characters and /v2/accounts aren’t going to be ready for a while.
Planning on enabling the rest “soon”, once the /v1 APIs going against the new backend have stabilized.
TivacYou mean a way to authenticate and then view just your listings? Don’t know, we would need to solve a few other issues first.
About the worlds and world_names APIs that are not working properly:
TivacThe new API interface uses the same backing servers for the data source, so no updates on that sorry. I’ll bug the programmer who owns that and see if he has any time to investigate.
erm
the posters here are talking about another bug (where merging would instantly destroy parties). this just sounds like you had a party experience.
Well, the guy that was with me before the other party decided to merge with us was kicked from the party and i had to reinvite him, so it’s almost the same bug. At least it has the same effects, not having any control of the party you created.
I created an instance of fractals. Someone merged with my party and then, after failing in doing the first phase of swamp one time, the leader of the other party kicked me and they were still inside. So i got kicked of my own instance and they’re still inside?
Are you going to fix this any time soon? It’s been more than half a year… Please, this is EXTREMELEY annoying
Any updates about this? Search is still not working properly and the last developer talked about this like 4 months ago…
Let’s count to 10,000 before the event begins!

Hi, i am a r27 noob, or at least that is what some people tell me when we lose (well just 2 guys till today).
The opinions i’m gonna show here are my opinions, i’m not pretending to have the actual truth about anything, so please discuss what you think about my thoughts, but do it with respect.
My pvp experience begins as an elementalist. I have played ele the 78% of my games. One of the aspects i like about elementalist is that is very powerful in the sense that is very versatile and it is hard, something that i like, but sometimes i just see that it is too hard to master to be a quality player in your team compared to other professions.
So i recently (about 1 or 2 months ago) i gave my guardian a chance with a bunker build. The experience couldn’t be more rewarding. One thing i did not have with my ele, the sense of rewarding. I’ve been joining some solo arenas with a success ratio of 55% (20/36) and team arenas with my guildmates (48%, 16/33). As you can see i’m not a heavy pvp player.
That’s my history. Now the reason i’m writing this xD
Today i was playing some solo arenas and it was very fun, 3 wins in a row, till i joined another solo arena and we lost. I normally hold the center base, and that’s what i was doing, but i failed because i had to complain against someone belonging to the irrespectful people or more commonly known as “trolls”. We were loosing like 125-50 points and this guy began to call me noob because i was killed in the center. He then decided to stand afk in our base because he bet i wasn’t even 20. Another teammate said he was alone with 2 people in our base, but the “irrespectful guy” said we were noobs and all was lost, so he was not going to move.
He was r60 and said “27 haha; kittening noob”. I’d love i could have kicked him before for not moving almost the entire game.
This is just the second time this happens to me with someone, meeting a super Pr0h guy that think all the guys in their team are noobs. I know i shouldn’t bother myself, but it is so irritating that i had to express myself somewhere.
Based in my background my questions and opinions are:
- Am i doom to just play hot join because i’m not +r40? Is this the opinion of the community or just this guy?
- Am i the only one that thinks that solo arenas are like hot join but with just 5 people, and therefore it has nonsense that some people expect super organized groups like team arenas? In my opinion, if you want that, join a team, but don’t expect that in solo arenas.
- Related to the first question, does it has sense to call noob someone with r27 just based on his rank when it is so hard to gather experience today unless you farm it in some arenas? It seems to some people that i cannot play solo arenas because i am a r27 noob, but i cannot gain much experience in hot join, and so on…
- What are your strategies to deal with these “irrespectful guys”? Report him for verbal abuse? Does Anet really look at these reports or just treat them as rage momentums? Am I somewhat naive?, maybe this is just the bread and butter in any competitive game, virtual or real.
- What kind of balance does Anet perform when making up teams? I mean it, right now i think there is just a random boolean decision that decides if you’re going to red or blue team.
- Does Anet treat PvP today like if it was some kind of minigame in GW2? I remember GW1 for having a famous PvP scene. Maybe there are not enough benefits from PvP, so they’re trying to monetize PvP in the future with the next new changes in glory and its deletion, before investing too much efforts in development.
Please discuss.
TL;DR: than you for reading
Please be aware that this method of debugging network issues has major flaws.
The flaws of measuring ICMP Packets (pings) to measure lag – are well known and numerous these are:
1 ISPs (intermediary) – will randomly drop ICMP Packets on a network. This will then report incorrectly in ping plotter or tracerts commands as dropped packets.
We will see randomly high levels of pings or other such items which does not actually reflect the state of the traffic itself.
Level 3 networks are well known for dropping high numbers of ICMP packets especially cross-country this helps prevent DDOS attacks and is often turned on.
2 The actual game traffic does not travel via ICMP ports so we are looking at something else than the actual traffic itself that is being sent.
3 ICMP Packet analysis only works on a network you fully own to give reliable results and is likely to only work for the first few hops of any network traffic. If you are not seeing any packet loss on the first 2-3 hops then it is probably something else that could be causing the issues.
I even have information supporting this from my ISP which I have sent in prior support tickets to ANET and why this method is completely unreliable. We tried to see if level 3 has a problem between Dallas and Washington as a hop- it turned out that Level 3 routinely drop ICMP packets and the other traffic (game traffic is unaffected).
If possible could we migrate to analysing actual traffic (to/from and if the traffic does not reach it’s destination) with a free network traffic capture system: http://www.wireshark.org. TCP traffic which this game uses relys on synchronised Qued in-order communications if one item fails (or the packet is rejected by the destination) we often experience in-game lag.
Why do I suggest this?
This gives every piece of traffic a start time, end time, ISP priority (QoS), duration in transmission (delta time – can be used to measure real lag), acknowledgement of receipt and a much more detailed analysis.
I have numerous pingplotter graphs which look okay (in various areas of the game), but a more detailed analysis of the actual network traffic highlights some major issues are being experienced in the back end (usually packet is rejected from being recieved by server at high load or a desync event has happened).
I know this is more complex than a basic level 1 network diagnosis – but without looking beyond ICMP it is unlikely we will get to the bottom of these lag issues.
Happy to disucss this further.
You’re right. I’ve installed Wireshark now to end with this problem for good. I’m not having problems now, but at least i’d like to know the reasons this happens from time to time.
Do you have some kind of script or filter to use with wireshark so the next time i have a lag problem i can send my GW2 data only? I’m really willing to finish with this

I have a C++ application to do the same and some friends told me about Avast warning them. It follows that Avast has some kind of cloud service that tracks the reputation of apps. If it doesn’t know about your app, it will put it in the sandbox, unless the user tells it not to. After some users allow your program to be executed it should earn some good reputation in their cloud, and Avast will not put it in the sandbox in theory :S
Another solution i’ve read is to digitally sign your program with a Microsoft signature, but i don’t know how many people here will waste 500$ for that xD
A possible solution? Try to share your app with as many friends as you can and hopefully their virusscanners will put your app in the whitelist.
I’m having the same problem. I wanted to help some guild members gain the achievements but it seems that Bug Wars 2 strikes again
CORS should be enabled.
Callbacks now supported.
I did this on my phone in the car. If something does not work, blame the bumpy road.
Great! Both methods work now ;-)
I’m getting an error "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token : " when calling the stats service. Seems to be caused by a recent change.
Javascript:
$.ajax({
dataType: “jsonp”,
url: “http://gw2stats.net/api/status.json”,
data: null,
success: function (data) {
a4.Base.log(data);
}
})
.fail(function () { alert(“Error getting Guild Wars 2 api status.”) });I used to be able to call with dataType=“json”, but that stopped working this morning.
FYI: That error could indicate that the callback is not being returned with the json results. Remember that jsonp results are wrapped in a callback, not just raw json.
This is just raw json. I haven’t changed anything since release as far as status.json is concerned. I will, however, dig into this and see if there is something on my end.
You need to make a JSONP capable API, parsing a GET “callback” argument that has the name of the function we want you to wrap your data around.
Why?
If we want to retrieve your API data from a browser with JavaScript, browsers won’t allow scripts to get data directly from another URL different from the one they are hosted in because of the same origin policy.
Additionally, remember also to set the value of your “Content-Type” response header to “application/json”
The only solution to pass this restriction for us would be to use a proxy server that properly wraps the API data into a JS function, but not everyone is going to rent a server just for this xD (well, YQL has a public service to handle this kind of situations…)
Edit:
also enabling CORS in your server (like ANet does) would be even better.
Edit 2:
in the mean time we can use something like this.
