Hey there community.

I have been doing the collection and all that comes with it for a while now and last week I bumped into HOPE IV. I went by order and it was all fine (some a little more tricky than the others, but after trying a few times and waiting here and there I got the stuff I needed). Then I bumped into the Phial in which you need to kill the Champion Risen Wraith. It did not seem like too hard of a thing until I realized that for the Champion Risen Wraith to even spawn you need to wait at least 10 Minutes for the defend event (and the champion) to spawn. Now if you have done Malchor’s Leap once or twice and seen the temple of Lyssa, everyone knows everyone will just go straight for Lyssa (Who is the main event) to kill her.

I can’t blame the people who do and ignore those that request for people to wait. It’s not their problem/they don’t care/perhaps they just want to troll. It is more an event that is designed for the community in GW2, rather than to work together, to work against each other. After all it will be 1-3 people asking 20 people to wait 5-10 minutes longer with killing Lyssa so they can get their collectible item.

The past week I have camped my character at the waypoint where the event will spawn along with the wraith and have had a handful of chances. Yet every time I’ve tried people kill Lyssa way to quickly for it to even spawn. The closest I’ve gotten is for the wraith to be at 75% where there were 4 people who killed Lyssa with ease (but somewhat slow).

I’ve seen people post threads and I’ve heard from people that have HOPE that it is the worst one to do and that it took them weeks and that they only gained it by luck. Some of them have gotten the item from GMs as well, but they stopped doing that.

My request, with this thread, is for the developers to look into the question and to either change the dynamic of the event or the way to obtain the collectible. After all while I’m sure everyone supports that obtaining a legendary should be difficult and complex that it shouldn’t be nearly impossible and should revolve around you camping a waypoint for weeks straight.

Also I’d advice for anyone who is thinking about getting HOPE, to either prepare yourself for the worst thing ever or to wait until they fix it, because it really is ridiculous.

You have to keep in mind that Dungeons will no longer be/are no longer end-game content (which it previously along with fractals was). I don’t like it too much either, but at the same time it is understandable; you shouldn’t put ‘that high of a reward’ on something that is at a ‘starters’ level in comparison to say the raid content which will be the new end-game content (along with fractals I guess? Though the rewards for that is horrible too atm).

I mean at the same time I don’t understand why anet would destroy a big part of the game like that, because honestly no one is willing to do dungeons anymore (which is sad since I remember it being the biggest help when I started out with the game to get my gear) and it’ll just become dead content seeing as money was the biggest motivator for people to do it.

Idk, gotta trust Anet some I guess. I’m sure there’s a reason for it. And if it’s the economist’s ‘fault’ then you should just assume that there is a reason for it (not something that instantly translates to ‘how to get people to buy gems’). It’s his job after all.

Now if the raid’s content gives you kitten all for rewards, that’s when people should worry/start kittening about $$$.

However, until there is an official ruling of the issue that everybody involved agrees and be made aware of, your guild’s excessive scrutiny seems… to be blunt, lack sportsmanship and unprofessional.

That moment when you try to be as positive and honest as possible while trying to make sure rules are being followed and someone still calls it “blunt, lack sportsmanship and unprofessional”.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to make sure a record was done fairly, people do it all the time. Yet when Enko or someone from LOD does it you’re suddenly shouting about a kittening fire blazing everywhere. Just chill.

This run was impressive (with or without the ‘bugged’ traits idgaf) and from what I hear it deserves to be approved as restricted, lol. That should honestly be the end of it.

Nice run guys, too bad about the build, but the run was pretty sweet to watch.

Its still current meta, so it should be approved.

Oh, my bad! I instantly assumed that the Engineer was running grenadier, which I’ve been told isn’t/wasn’t allowed for restricted with the Guardian symbols and Grenadier damage both being stupid back in the older builds.

Either way the run is motivating to watch.

Honestly, we started out with some very different tactics (ie. fighting foreman on top) and with a mesmer and elementalist instead of guardian and thief, but found that a lot was slower/the same speed so we ended up going back to some of the existing tactics with slight alternations to improve them. And with a dungeon that is 80% made up out of cut scenes there’s only so much that you can do ‘completely different’. There’s new things in there though, it’s not a complete copy pasta which I hope people will notice.

Sorry if there’s some out there that feel like it’s not fair in regards to the all-time record holder or the previous meta one, but idk. There’s plenty of records out there that got replaced just with tiny alternations (or everything ‘copy pasta’ed’ but with a new portal or an npc manipulation) in comparison to the previous records’ tactics so I’m not quite certain why some would be unhappy with this one specifically.

I’m rambling. Record was fun to do so it is what it is. o/

Insane lag in pvp and wvw

Every time a big patch comes out I will have 3-5 days worth of unbearable lag in PvP and WvW (10-20 seconds of people walking into walls before gw2 catches up again, skills not popping etc.) which pretty much makes it unplayable. I have put in multiple tickets about this and it usually ends up with the help desk saying it’s my providers fault whereas my provider will tell me it’s anet. I have actually changed providers to make sure (admittedly that was more because the payment kitten was better but that’s beside the point) and I’m still bumping into this.

I live in EU and play on NA, however I never have lag or fps drops except the days after a patch comes out… I’m just curious to see if anyone else has this/had this and if there is anything I can do about it other than simply waiting for a few days.

How is it less confusing for new players to convert x gold to an uneven number of gems or vice versa?

FPS Issue with the 9/9 patch [merged]

Funny enough, the patch caused these issues for me while I wasn’t experiencing them before, maybe some minor lag, but now I just lag, my FPS drop very low, cannot cast my skills and then DC. (Netherlands here)

What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?

Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
No.

Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
No, the lag will be map-wide.

Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
> SMC fights where 2/3 servers clash. The lag will be as horrible as that you cannot use any skills but your 1 skill or it can be as bad as that you cannot use any skills at all. Also note that this is not exclusive to ‘you’ fighting a zerg, but currently when JQ and BG (in our case) clash inside smc or in their keeps; we can feel the lag all the way to our keep and even spawn.

If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
I experience it when the zerg is >30 and gets worse the more there are present.

Also could not swap my weaponry. — 2:30 specifically for the healing lag. :p Though it’s not even the worst I usually experience haha.
