My own impression is you have too few sources of might to really leverage those runes in a meaningful way but that is just me. The 5 percent extra damage from bonus 6 is compromised by the rather low power overall.
If you want an uber evasive build you might consider Withdraw as your heal. It on a shorter cooldown and has no cast time so can not be interrupted. I know you do not then get that regen but your build still has plenty of regen from other sources.
Other things to consider from a WvW perspective is Runes of the Aristocrat with marjories chili. This gets you 6 might stacks on every heal and adds to both condition and direct damage. With withdraw and Inertia you can really build up those might stacks to the point they surpass what the Runes of Strength give.
Rune of the adventurer can also be a lot of fun in an uber evasive build. With vigor on heal and that might on dodge food a heal available every 15 seconds will also refill your endurance virtually instantly,
Thank you for your comment, i agree on the choice of heal. I have never try those runes so i will now, also im toying around with a power version using sword and same amount of evasion region, i think the lack of damage mitigation is the problem, i will update the post with the results of my test.
again this is just an idea and i do think is a very active game style
Im trying to experiment here, im a new thief coming form ranger game play (and no im not a LB ranger), i usually roam or spvp whit a shouts evasive build on the ranger i.e.
I was playing s/d thief and kinda give me the idea to try to make a similar type of thief, the reason? i just love the active play type that brings to the table and the evasion is the better dmg mitigator there is aside of dodge.
Has any of you ever try something like this?
Thank you all for you help and hope this is something that can work
BTW, this is for wvwvw and probably spvp
I start with this first idea using d/d and it is a condition oriented
Update:
doing some matches i made some changes to this

if you trait for some initiative recovery you can keep up with it, also i have use d/d for pie dos but i have also use p/p and i can see 30k cries on p/p and i never seen those numbers on d/d, for me it is hard to decide because we have no meter to compare plus it also depends on group comp, but i think is def viable and the damage diff is not that much.
Plus you can stay alive way more than with d/d and the blinds and vulnerability proc quite often. One bad thing is, some times is boring, spamming unload can it be.
Any how i put my pve p/p build here and feel free to leave an opinion
you can change in trickery the V for IV, and the SR for more power or signet of agility for con clear+crit. Also runes can be swap for scholar but i like the might stack to gain more dmg
Using this in a spvp
a lot of fun
I have been using this on sPvP:
an so far i like the results, i self stack might and getting 3 unloads on a group does a lot of damage to all of them and i can keep up with the heals, the mobility from withdraw and the initiative back from Roll of Initiate allow me to keep a lot of pressure on the team.
I’m new at thief and i love the p/p, i found this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzmM7WIwSBs&index
i test it and like the dps maybe is not the meta be the damage is very decent and i do like it
Do you have bizarrely low achievement points? Are you joining groups that are specifically asking for something you’re not? Are you using some weird weapon combo like axe/torch with a pet pig?
I wasn’t getting kicked at all even before the LB update, let alone 2 or 3 times a day.
I agree, you must be doing something wrong, only times i have seen a ranger kick from a pie group is pre patch and they where ask if they use sword and they say no
Hello frands! Vee Wee here, #1 Engi NA and world first rank 80!
You just repeated what I said and then called my posts insane! Who is the insane one here! You thilly bear!
Wahoo! Bye frands!
You said Engis can never be good bunkers. I said they could. Spend more time reading posts and less time trying to be cute.
Im taking no part on the argument but he does give the reasons why he thinks we can not be bunkers, can you give the reasons of why we can ?
thank you all for your help, already crafting my celestial set, and ill move from there
Hello all, New Eng here
so far i love the profession and i feel its diversity fits very well with my play style but i do have a some questions and i hope the community is willing to help me.
I do wvwvw/pve and tpvp, as for pve the granadier meta is the way to go but for Wvwvw im still not sure what is the best build for a newcomer, in wvwvw i do run wit the zerg but also do some roaming, so far im going full rabid 3 kits using grenades but agains necros i just get destroy and some warrior can clean the condi too fast
thank you all for the help

surprise that every where in the video he say this is not a serious thing but still ppl come and say something about it. that is the real QQ in forums i think
ok so for the power build i came to this build
going to play around with the tips for condo version since i like to change my game type time to time
this is the build that I use when I want to fight along with the people at the frontline. the purpose of the build is to buff my allies and provide them with healing and regen. this build is also strong in 1v1 and perfect in small scale roaming but can hold it’s own in zerg fights.
i would appreciate your comments about my build.
one of the build i ask about is a condition oriented, only problem i have had with it is the cast time and reaction time with it, yours is spirits, not sure spirits will survive the aoe of the zerg, again we al talking been in the blob or close to it that is why i prefer traps since they are unblockable.
First, thank you all for helping.
This is the meta zerg build. It’s slightly out of date, but close enough that can customize it to your own.
i like this idea, was playing with similar but not with ptv gear, i might just get a set and test it, also the video explains the game play with reassure what i was doing
any opinions, good, bad, any?
Hello all, new ranger here, im trying to find a nice WvW build to act as an outliner for my organized guild.
First, try to maintain the trolling at Zero on replays, this is an attempt to find a nice spot for rangers on the zerg.
so the point i consider need to be covered:
-survivability
-support
-damage
-mobility
-bags
-survivability – this is important, we can go full glass but one barrage and the retaliation can get us in trouble and if we are low heat a sneak thief can one shoot you, so i have fun that 2700 thongs is need it, pleas feed back on this number.
-support – for me there are 2 types, the ones via buffs and stuff or the once via helping the group, been an outliner i can support by covering the Eles and necros and mesmers that are with me on the outline, that alone give time for them to do their thing and allow me to be part of the synergy.
-damage – in order for me to be a source of protection i need to be quick on kills that way that thief that is trying to kill my ele will go down or at least i will force him to retreat because of the pressure i put on him, for this a minimum of 2000 power and 35% crit has been the spot im looking for
-mobility – this one it might be just personal, but i hate being slow so i look for either a GS so i can keep up with my guild or a WH or +25% movement via runes.
-bags – simple, i want to kill bad guys and be rewarded for it
so i came up with 2 builds so far, some of the choices i made for the accessories and stuff i took them because i already own them
The Power one – Focusing on LB, sw/d is my defensive set via evades and some time i can also put pressure on my opponent with them, most of the damage here come via signets and LB short CD.
The Condition one – Just and idea im testing, massive traps, conditions hit hard but you need to be a 600 range so you need to be more bunker, still working on fine tuning this one. The lack of stability bothers me so i man change the elite, also no direct damage but if i overlap the trap the damage is massive.
Again im in the look of the build and roll and i want some feedback form the other rangers out there
Not my build but a fun one to play with, you need to know your ranger to do good
trying to tweak your build a bit with numbers i personally feel confortable with (this is when i don’t go full glass) :
Power: 2k or more
Tough: 2.7k or more
Crit: 30% or more
Again this is using your build above and get the numbers i feel i need, on zerg fights you need to be careful not to kill your self with retaliation form the blob so try to keep an eye on your health.
I can hit 1.5k to 2.5k each target on barrage plus the cripple always help to break the group and give your team the advantage.
AA and rapid fire with piercing arrows is nice too, just need to try to constantly look for a target in the mid of the blob and do a rf on then you will see a lot of numbers (and a lot of bags)

ok so your talking wvwvw moving with the zerg, for that im experimenting with this
the idea is to be at max range all the time, if i get target then i move to sw/d and use the evades go gain distance and reopen with LB.
again this is only to be moving with the zerg, on 1vx you will have problems but if you are with the zerg you just need to gain some time till the blob comes to you

Keep in mind that in GW2 there is no trilogy, no healers/tank, so healing power has a place in wvwvw but for pie the more active you are on you play style the better
The word you are looking for is trinity. There is no trinity in GW2. However, there also won’t be a trilogy if they don’t step their game up on this story.
And i stand corrected, Trinity it is, tk
Keep in mind that in GW2 there is no trilogy, no healers/tank, so healing power has a place in wvwvw but for pie the more active you are on you play style the better
What is your spec look like?
I get your frustration, im using same rMBP to play diablo 3, SWTOR, WOW and i get a steady 35 fps, but no matter what on GW2 is 20 fps the most, some areas goes down to 8 and on LA is a steady 4 on prime time, WvW on my lap is a dream only lol
I have done the SMC reset, i have play using a fan on the lap and still low performance, what it really bothers me is that i see the same performance on bootcamp, so if any one have any more advice i would like to hear
I also have a 2013 rMBP and i just can not find a setting that allow me to enjoy the game but have decent graphics, i have try the Mac Client and also in bootcamp and i can not get more than 20 fps with all setting to low
