When you hit an enemy, damage floaters pop over an enemy’s head.
Is that damage value correct?

I suspect especially when I’m using channeling skills.
It shows too big damage values as if an enemy dies instantly, but it doesn’t happen.

About rules,
I think death’s penalty is too low, so Respawn Time should be longer.
(I expect this change will make it more progressive, less lucks, more sense)

At first it was great to hear that you guys are releasing two content every two weeks, but its PVE.

I think one of the real reason is lack of resources and costs for PvP.
I think most PvPers play without spending money, not like PvEers do.
In PvP, Anet may have only chance to get cash by selling custom arena tickets, but in PvE, there are more oppotunities such as above quoted events.

Anet needs to do business.
Money don’t flow out from nothing.
Low earning low budget.
Maybe Anet needs to rebuild business model for PvP.

I think Anet will get huge ‘WHY!’ complaint from PvEers.
Imagine the opposite situation, for example if there is the most honorable PvP achievement in the PvE section, lots of PvPers will do so.

I feel your idea is a kind of in WvW section not PvP.

Imho some sort of Capture The Flag would fit this game the most. Like mentioned before it’s allmost impossible to have TDM in GW2 since there’s way to much damage and it would make most classes somehow unviable. (It would basically lead to “stealth and spike” scenarios or some bullkitten like that)

I think somehow Death Match works in this game.
Because imagine the fight at the central area in Legacy of the Foefire.
do thieves team always win against bunker team in there?
(We still have rally, and the situation if small teams such as 2v2 or 3v3)
I think no. Still bunker guardian or something rolls an active part.

Just to confirm, we are working on new maps. I can’t give too many details, but a few things:

2) We’re trying mechanics that focus on high risk/reward mechanics that can win to sudden wins/sudden losses.

I am disappointed about this comment.
Because it sounds like Skyhammer again for me. I don’t want Anet to use efforts to create a map that many players hate.

As other active threads indicate, apparently majority of people are interested in Death Match and GvG. These topic threads are often heated up.
I know Anet needs to do business, resources and costs are not unlimited, so I suggest realistic solution. (Until Anet releases real new maps for DM and GvG.)

I think Legacy of the Foefire is a good template and capable for both DM and GvG in all existing maps.

For Death Match,

  • Update custom arena settings.
    • Make “unlimited” option for “Score Limit
    • Make “unlimited” option for “Respawn Time
  • Give us a map of only center capture area in Legacy of the Foefire and being wall surrounding not letting people to escape

For GvG,

  • Update custom arena settings.
    • Increase max of “Team Size” from 10 to 20
    • Increase max of “Starting Players” from 10 to 20
    • Make unlimited option for “Score Limit
    • Make unlimited option for “Respawn Time

And… another topic though, Anet need to hire a math expert if there is no one in Anet.
I believe there are a lot of playing field to a math expert.
For example, making solid leaderboard formula, match making system, damage balance between professions, damage/reduction curve and so on.

PS. I believe GW2 potential.

I just sum up the number of people on the solo leaderboard for each server.

JQ has only 1 or 2 map queues during SEA time. So I think JQ doesn’t become much stronger than before, but rather BG and SoR is weakened.
I remember the days JQ had even 2 or 3 queues though in SEA, JQ couldn’t beat others.

I’m proud of JQ’s persistent efforts in the top class of PvE, PvP and WvW since the day 1.

Why are people dueling in WvW? (not in sPvP?)

I think duels in sPvP is fairer than in WvW.
And you will see a real strong man on duel.

Tanking Mechanic

I have a suggestion about tanking mechanic.

Most of other MMORPG such as WoW adapt threat-based tanking mechanic. A tank uses skills to gain mobs thread to keep aggroes.

How do you think tanking skill is based on sacrifice or intercepting damages which might come to other allies?
Pulling and peeling skill may also be good.

Most pros of this mechanic is applied not only for PvE, but also for PvP.

This can be used against players who don’t have threat concept.
I imagine if tanks joins GvG arena as decent roll other than healers, DPSes, very exciting!

Though I know GW2 has concept about rolls not tank, heal, dps, but dps, support, control…
