Guild Wars 2

Just to update everyone, I took the advice of using caltrops for condition damage while shooting with my shortbow and I cannot explain how much it has helped. I can now take on huge mobs and take little to no damage because of this technic. I also started to get better with my D/D by using death blossom more often. I just want to thank everyone for all the advice, it has worked wonders for me and I really appreciate it.Thanks.

Thank you for all the help with this. I am still not sure if I will be able to master doing so much with just my left hand, but I will keep practicing and hopefully I will get better. I also started using ‘wasd’ to move around as well as changed my jump and dodge to much easier positions. Thank you again for all the help, I really appreciate it.

Before I got into gw2, I was a big League of Legends fan. For anyone that has played LoL,they will know that using your mouse to use abilities can be very difficult, so you would have to get used to having one hand on the mouse and the other on the “qwer” keys for your abilities. I was just wondering if there was some way to use that muscle memory from LoL in gw2. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that in order to do this, you would need 3 hands (one on the keys, one on the arrows to move, and one on the mouse). Now, I do know that you can change all the keys around on the keyboard to fit your liking, but I was wondering if anyone plays using the keys to use abilities rather than the mouse, because I would love to get back to memorizing which key is for which ability and play like that.

I’m not sure if doing this will even make that much of a difference, but I thought I would try to get some feedback and see what other players do to improve their skill.

Yeah, you are right. I saw these videos and told myself thats what I wanted to be. It is disappointing to hear this, but sometimes the truth hurts I guess. However, I am still going to play on him and practice.Maybe I will get better as I level up more. Thank you.

I have watched videos of thieves owning in WvW,PvE,etc. After seeing this,I made a thief as soon as I could. Now I don’t know if I am just bad, I am playing him wrong, or what the situation is, but I can’t seem to complete simple tasks like skill points or even 1v1’s against NPC’s my level. Now I am only level 20, so I am really hoping that things start to better from here, but is there a reason why I am struggling so much with my thief?

Also, I’m not sure if I am just used to my level 80 warrior with a lot of health and toughness, but why do I die so much faster now? It literally takes 3 hits from an NPC maybe two levels higher than me to down me and it’s really frustrating. Any tips?

First off, I just wanted to say that even though I am level 80, I honestly feel like I know nothing about this game. I feel like people talk a whole other language. For example, the whole “LFG CoF” type things. I now know what it means but just stuff like that confuses me sometimes. Anyway, I am simply looking for a guild that will help me with dungeons(I know nothing about any of them), PvP(never did that either), and most importantly, I am looking for a guild who has a bunch of cool people who will not hesitate to help. I am also in Devona’s Rest. Hope I can find a good guild.

P.S.- I used to play runescape(if anyone has heard of it) and I was in a guild there. Every time I logged on, all my guild mates greeted me and included me in everything, and that made the game 100 times better, so I was hoping to have the same experience here.Thanks again.

When I said “awesome”, I just meant something that looks cool. For example, I have seen a few people with a flame sword which is awesome. One way i would put it is something out of the ordinary. I am in the Vigil. Also when you say “In terms of dungeons”, does that mean like the merchants in Lions Arch who have all the different dungeon weapons and armor? And thank you,I am new to the forums so I don’t really know what I’m doing.

Okay,so I am a level 80 Norn warrior and I am in the process of completing the map. One of my main interests is all the different weapons that you can get. I have been looking for a cool looking greatsword that still has the attributes of a level 80 exotic. If anyone knows any type of cool looking greatswords that aren’t extremely expensive, can you please let me know, I want to look really awesome. Sorry if this is a dumb post but looking good means something to me, thanks.

I have no idea what to do, but I also made a new character and it is still blurry. So I don’t know what to do.

Hi, I have been playing for about a month now and I never had any issues with the game. Just recently, I noticed that my mini map would not update when I discovered a new area. When I pull up the larger map, it shows that I had discovered the area and all the blur is gone. For some reason, my mini map still shows the blur wherever I am and it is getting really annoying. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
