Guild Wars 2

I have been trying to pre-order the game for the past two days via Black Lion and buy.guildwars2.com using Mastercard debit and credit card with two different bank issuer (one is U.S. based and one is Philippine based). I’m only getting the message Authorization Failed after submitting the order on both instances. How can this be fixed?

I’m in the market for a budget gaming laptop to play GW2 with reasonable framerates on the go. I’d appreciate your input on these two models.

My concern with Lenovo Y50, based on reviews, is the lackluster display and on GE70 the very high temperature.

Would it help GW2 load maps faster with the hybrid 8GB SSD on the Y50?

I do not require large storage, and do not do any heavy multi tasking. Spreadsheet, youtube, web browsing, boss timer are my most common tasks during play session and AV running in the background. I think i5 core with 100gb is sufficient for my needs.

My primary activities in GW2 include World Boss events (rarely Teq), dungeons, large guild missions, LS, and lots of waypointing between maps. Hoping to be able to play on atleast Medium settings during World Boss events (I’m not afraid to turn the setting down a notch) and High setting everywhere else. I do not play any other modern 3d games.

I use a desktop rig (not mine) to play GW2 with this setup:

AMD Athlon II, X3 kitten 3,3ghz
4gb ram
Geforce GTX 650

Apples are missing from the karma merchant. There is only spoon.

GW2 client crashed. Restarted the pc. Crafting menu is now back to normal again.

None of the armor crafting stations I’ve visited have worked for me. Just a few hours ago, I was doing refinements on this character and on my alt. I also checked that my armor discipline is active. My 2nd discipline also has the same issue at the respective crafting station.

The new world boss schedule supports only 4 continents in their prime time block. leaving out Asia (Pacific)/Oceania. =(

Anyone from Asia, specifically SEA, trying to connect to the North American server? I can’t even get myself to the login window right now. News floating around is that there is a damage to an underwater sea cable. Not sure which path, if this is only an intra-continental damage isolating one region or worse the damage affecting a larger portion of East Asia-North America link.

I would like to hear from other players who are connecting from this part of the world.

This lag event started on March 21, local Philippine time. Today hit rock bottom. I’m getting a fluctuation of 0kb to 10kb/sec from the GW2 client making this practically offline.

The original post seems to invalidate the effort and the hundreds of hours put in by PvPers to hone their skills, to achieve to be the greatest of the greatest. You’d have to go through many intensive battles outside the tournament against worthy opponents to climb the ranks and become a top contender. Every match people bring their very best, the hard training behind this goes unnoticed for the most part. On occasion, an equally skilled player wins a match not by chance but because they’ve got the strongest feeling in the battlefield….That my friend, being able to enjoy battles to its soul and fighting your heart out is the most legendary experience ever.

Most impressive to me out of the 5 set is #5 9/10.

1. - 7/10 Have you considered mixing White gold, Gold, Bronze, Iron, and Copper as alternative to what looks like silver or steel?
2. - 6/10 Not big on silverish color on armor, but I’m a fan of other metal hues particularly nickel and old nickel dyes on this game. Makes it feel more true and used up.
3. - 8/10 Like the hues on this, goes well with the rugged feel of the armor.
4. - 7/10 Like the bluish tint metal but it conflicts with the purple accent.

My rate is heavily on the color schemes. Because I’m a purist, the set are all good to me.

Just my opinion

Here is my Charr Elementalist, Mineski.

I’m extremely happy with my choice to play a human warrior. I have never felt the way I feel now with my older characters Charr Elementalist , Asura Guardian, Norn Warrior, Sylvari Ranger (deleted) and even my first but least developed Human Mesmer. I never been truly immersed, and this is what was preventing me from enjoying the game in its entire form.

There’s something sophisticated and majestic about the human race in Tyria and more specifically the iconic medieval warrior. It reminds me of moments in Britannia (Ultima Online) with my Human Warrior character, my first in a MMORPG. I even have the classical bardic instruments theme from UO in my playlist.

I hope everyone continues to enjoy and discover new things about their characters in the world of Tyria!

I agree with the comment on the staff being useful at ragging multiple enemies. I’m leveling my guardian doing the ul goth run in harathi . extremely beneficial in making sure you get most of the experience during the waves of centaur invasion. No cool down short cast time and cone area – perfect!
