I don’t think it’s fixable unless you call in the voice actors all over again, but Rox and Canach sound kinda robotic or metallic, Rox especially. I dunno, they just don’t sound as clean and clear as the rest of the team
So, I was using my Engineer with a shield for the first time ever. A foreword, I’m assuming that the backpiece being hidden while a shield is equipped and sheathed is intentional – if not, there’s another bug.
I discovered that the backpiece I’m wearing, when the shield is being unsheathed, appears then follows the shield hand to the ready position then teleports to the back when the animation finishes. When sheathed again it follows the opposite process; it teleports to the shield hand then follows it to the back again before disappearing once the sheathing animation is finished.
(also if this exists somewhere else my apologies, I tried searching the forum and google but with no luck)
Also main ranger, though only for about 10 months so far.
(sorry ’bout all the spacing, I just thought it laid out my point(s) better)
From what I’ve noticed;
…how it used to work is,
You’d place the Healing Spring, then
1) You would be healed for a certain amount,
2) You’d receive a tick of Regeneration, and
3) You’d receive a tick of 1 condition cleansed.
…and how it works now is,
You’d place the Healing Spring, then
1) You’d would be healed for a certain amount,
A trap is laid down, and ONLY if your health is below 100% or you’re affected by a condition, AND ONLY IF YOU’RE IN COMBAT, the trap should be triggered, then
2) You’d receive a tick of Regeneration, and
3) You’d receive a tick of 1 condition cleansed.
…and so, the real issue I’m seeing, what makes it really feel like a bug, and what needs to be changed, is the conditions under which the trigger happens. Any other trap is intended to trigger when the thing it is intended to work on walks in it, regardless of what is going on with it – stealthed, evading, out of combat, anything, the trap will still trigger on it.
If it were changed to triggering either;
A) When the player or friendly of any kind (player, pet, NPC) is detected inside its raduis, regardless of its health/condition status, or
B) Immediately.
…then I think that would satisfy most veteran rangers.
{A} would let it work “correctly” (how most think it’s supposed to) while still keeping the “trap” idea intact, although I think you’ll still get complaints about how it lays where you used it instead of where you are.
{B} would satisfy even those complaints and become exactly like the Healing Spring of old, but is a little more distant from the “trap” concept.
Also also, a couple more things I’ve noticed;
1) the Regeneration DOES affect the pet – in every test my pet gets 51 secs of Regeneration with the trap trait active, HOWEVER however the pet counts as 1 of the 5 limit, so it can end up not getting the boon when a full party is stacked closer to the center of Healing Spring;
2) the initial Healing DOES NOT affect the pet. I literally just confirmed this a few minutes ago during Teq (and no, my pet hadn’t reached the downed state yet, so that wasn’t the issue), numerous times I received the initial healing but my pet didn’t (but again DID receive the Regeneration stacked over time)
3) If player is OUT OF COMBAT but still having some damage left while it slowly heals up, the trap fails to trigger then too (so if you’re trying to have a condi cleanse field ready before the next combat comes along, too bad)
So… there’s my couple cents. But yeah, definitely broke as it is, changes should be made to either make it a better “trap” or closer to the previous mechanic.
Same issue, “Meet Agen Ihan at Black Haven” with a green star on the map just SE of the waypoint, but no Agent Ihan to be seen, and Lionguard Keene doesn’t have any dialog regarding Ihan.
Been 80 for a long time, so level’s not an issue. Thoughts?

Update: Tried;
• exiting the map and returning,
• finding a different instance of Kessex Hills,
• going to character select and picking a different character and returning,
• logging out entirely,
• activating the Living Story and returning to the main story,
All with no luck

I hope all that made it into the title.
1st) I play a ranger, and I always keep my pet Peace’d, but lately it ignores the Peace-ing and attacks anything I do like in Attack mode. Fine for PvE but it’s making me look super idiotic and useless in dungeons if I don’t constantly jam on that F3 -.-’’
2nd) I made use of multiple chat tabs, 1 with every channel, 1 blocking map chat, 1 blocking NPCs, et c… but /whenever/ I switch between tabs, regardless of that tab’s settings, for some reason gold Guild text that was already there disappears, but future messages still come in
So yeah, those two things would be super great to put on the to-fix list
Also also, I don’t mind most of the changes, but would you consider giving us back red downed health bars in parties? Just darkening the bar a few shades isn’t very noticable in the thick of things
So, I hope that title wasn’t confusing or misleading, but there was only so much I could pack into a title :P
I leveled a Norn Guardian around Halloween running around the Laby for hours on end, but I haven’t touched it since. Now I finally wanna use it.
We can completely ignore PvP and WvW scenarios, that’s just not my scene :P I wanna be a pillar – the player that keeps the party from having to start over with Mai Trin – but I also wanna be able to run around the World Map on my own without being completely useless in the killing department (hoping that makes sense). The #1 thing for me though is, I don’t wanna even acknowledge the F-key Virtues are there; let the passive stay passive. (and I acknowledge this makes Renewed Focus useless) Maybe that’s dumb, but that’s how I wanna play it. What research I’ve done (mostly build videos and gw2skills.net), the videos’ builds all make use of activating Virtues at various times.
So what I want, in order of importance;
1) Don’t need to touch F-key Virtues
2) Survivability
3) Still do acknowledgable damage
4) Use Greatsword/Staff (though this is totally compromisable, fine using anything that gets the job done)
Can anyone come up with something complete for an exotic-wearing Norn Guardian?
(and by ‘complete’ I mean traits, skills, equipment prefixes, and runes/sigils/jewels)
Or am I just being entirely too picky?
Yeah, honestly I can’t see how people who have gotten up to like 20k AP even in 2 years have been able to stand doing it that long. I’m at like 3k and I’m getting tired. Let’s see some variation ey?
