Free transfers destroyed our server. If you don’t know the saga of what happened to HoD after Season 2, I will be happen to enlighten you as to why free transfers is not the answer to anything, and why it would likely destroy any last remnants of server pride, cohesion, and that sense of awareness you get by playing with the same people over and and over again. You want a giant melting pot? Go play EotM.
Let’s be honest here, free transfers made your server to begin with. HoD was a bandwagon server in season 1 that stole plenty of guilds. I’m not sure that free transfers is a positive solution, but HoD is a good example of how free transfers can destroy server populations.
i dont think it is just the sos server .
i know i have had bad lag spikes on wsr for over a month now
go to the teck support forum there are threads that have going on about this that need more attention ..
Maybe it’s not a server issue then but a QoS or load issue. All we can really do as outsiders is speculate. SoS bl definitely saw some sort of improvement though. It’s still not perfect, but it’s better.
Looks like ANET responded! SoS borderlands is functional again with no lag. Sadly we’re still suffering with disconnects in Eternal Battleground on the 64.25.38.162:0 server.
64.25.38.86. Seeing TCP retransmissions and duplicate acknowledgements. This packet loss is making this game unplayable.
Is there a technical issue going on with the SOS server? Our server has noticed that when fighting SOS and when going to their borderlands the lag is unplayable. We seem to have no lag issues when fighting the other server or when playing in their bl or our bl. Anet please respond!
There are other ways to add dimensions to the game. Disablers removed strategic mobility and ninja tactics, both of which people love way more than watching 1 person with a little bit of silver burn into their PvP fight time. The cost/benefit analysis on disablers is kitten out of control.
Doesn’t seem fair that it takes a couple hours to fully upgrade something and then a zerg can just build 3 – 4 rams and get in within a few minutes..
This argument doesn’t work for me. A few minutes is more than enough time for a server to respond and an upgraded tower takes at least 10 minutes to take with 1 person inside. If a server doesn’t want to respond to save an upgraded tower then they should be punished for it. Hitting an unmanned tower is simply good strategy, and instead of punishing players for not defending their upgraded keeps, Anet is eliminating strategy all together.
My bottom line: The element of surprise was on of the greatest weapons lower population servers had to compete with higher population servers. Anet took that away, created greater imbalance, and are trying to give that back with the removal of white swords. Siege disablers ruined the game.

5 Minutes turned into 40 minutes. That’s 40 minutes of no rewards. No loot, no world exp, no fun fights, etc… Just a few of us staring at a gate wondering who thought siege disablers would be a good idea. #annoyed to no end
I think the disablers need a long cd like the Ash Legion Spy Kits.
I completely agree. If you’re going to keep them in the game, which I think is a mistake, there should be a really large cool down so people can’t chain disable siege and render it useless.
Please take disablers out of the game. They are a waste of everyone’s time.
The only logical reason I could see for adding siege disablers into the game is to encourage distance siege and fighting in the open field. Short range siege has been rendered useless with the addition of siege disablers, there HAS to be another option. Yes there are reflection options, but the majority of the guild wars community doesn’t have the coordination to pull off these tactics. Lastly, the addition of siege disablers has greatly increased the amount of time spent taking a tower.
Let’s use a simple math formula that I’m going to pull out of my kitten.
Reward For Playing in WvW = (Karma*Drops*Gold) / Time Spent
It’s simple to see that as you increase the value of Time Spent, you lower the reward people earn for playing in WvW and drive people out of it. Even if siege disablers did encourage more open field fights and increase the amount of drops, as a WvW enthusiast I can say that the most amount of drops in WvW happen after a tower or keep has been breached.
I’m going to keep this brief and this is coming from someone who prefers open field fights more than anything else in the game.
Siege Disablers should be removed from the game.
I don’t even play on ET, but I want to someday. These guys have always made the most out of very little. Giving them a gratuitous bump.
If you’re looking to have someone pay your way onto their server, Blackgate should be able to help you out with that.
64 degrees constant under heavy load with the new liquid cooling installed. My FPS is doing a lot better, but I still feel Anet has a lot of work to do.
I disagree. The blue screen specifically said that the CPU was too hot. Heat DID cause the automatic shutdown, which caused a blue screen.
Also, I wouldn’t say that allowing the BIOS to choose the overclocking frequency is “improper.” It’s certainly a viable option, just less safe.
I actually did get a blue screen today due to CPU heat and noticed my CPU core temps were hitting in the low 80°C range according to CPUID. However, curbing the processing by turning on VSYNC and limiting the amount of frames to 60 FPS seems to help keep the temp relatively stable around 80°C. I’m going to invest in a liquid cooling system to keep the heat down.
I really wish ANET would respond to this problem. I shouldn’t have to overclock to 4.2GHz to run this game smoothly!
I wasn’t sure if it was overclocking or not. It seems a little ridiculous that I have to overclock with such a good processor though…
A story to share that might help some people out there.
After years of wondering why I was seeing FPS problems when I have a 6 core i7 processor and a GTX Titan, I looked in my BIOS to see if there was anything that could be throttling my CPU. The result:
I changed my ASUS motherboard settings from ‘Normal’ to ‘Optimal’ and now I’m getting around 60 FPS consistently in Lion’s Arch. I’m seeing upwards of 140 FPS in WvW now and in large zerg fights, closer to 60 FPS instead of 15-30 FPS.
Now I just hope my cooling fans hold up with the higher expected temperatures.
Hello,
I think Sorrow’s Furnace would be a great home for your guild. We are exactly what you’re looking for. We are an upper tier Bronze server trying to push into silver league, but currently lack an early morning (server time) crew and could definitely use an offensive boost from 7pm – 9pm GMT. We have a laid back community and low queue times during your time frame, and you wouldn’t have to worry about any try hards messing up your day. Message me if you have any questions, we would love to have you.

Sorrow’s Furnace is reaching out to SEA/OCEANIC guilds in the game that are looking for a change. We are a server with a strong, determined, and passionate NA crew, but we are currently left watching ourT3 keeps get taken by PV Door tactics due to lack of coverage.
We are seeking some SEA/OCEANIC guilds who are looking for a challenge to boost SF into the ranks of silver league. If you are a SEA/OCEANIC player or guild, in any league, on any server, who is interested in building a foundation for the start of something great, please contact me with any questions or concerns you have. We are open to the possibility of assisting with transfer fees.
