So in summary you’re saying:
1) Total Games played should be factored into/against MMR somehow or…
2) Rabbit to Dragon should be factored into/against MMR somehow and…
3) Progress to Ascended Gear should only occur on Victory.

…(if the answer to those is yes then co-signed).

This pretty much summarizes it nicely.i don’t need players who have a massive win ratio.i just want them to know how to pvp.every match I spend all match telling people the same thing and it’s not fair.fight on point/don’t run into a 1v5 etc.i like these 3 points.but no1 is the most important for me.

hah.my bad.game was using my integrated graphics card even tho the default is set to dedicated.working 100% fine now for me on proper card.feeling optimistic

I was able to connect today after being unable to for the past 5 days, however, my ping and fps levels are now so bad that I am still unable to play. (5fps anywhere in the game, with ave ping of 450) , all other games are working as normal. JHB, South Africa using Telkom

read this and decided to give mine a try.also able to get back on game now but my ping and fps is terrible.even with everything on absolute lowest.hope it’s sorted soon.Telkom,Cape Town South Africa

I am also from South Africa.

My ISP is Telkom.

Cannot log into the game or the forums since yesterday afternoon.

“The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time. This is most commonly caused by firewall or router settings, security applications, or connecting through a campus network. For additional support, please visit http://support.guildwars2.com. "

There is something seriously wrong where certain ISP’s no longer allow playing Guildwars2.

I did contact Telkom, they say the matter must be taken up with Anet after all, every other online game and facility does work with Telkom.

I am currently using an alternative (Vodacom) ISP to play as all the suggestions in this post does not work.

Anyone at Anet what is going on?

Was told the same by Telkom call center.that it’s not their issue and it must be on the game servers side.also lol @ ur id.if by any chance u do manage to get online through Telkom or it gets fixed please let me know.relieved to know its not just me

" contacted my isp and they said its not them.my ISP in south africa is Telkom.havent been able to login since i was kicked yesterday at around 3pm.wasnt able to access the website either until i used a vpn to get on and post this.vpn still wont let me on the game tho

this x10000000.why are players with 600 achievement points q’d up with players with 13-15k ap?obviously the guy has no idea what he’s doing.knowing how to play ur toon doesnt mean u understand pvp.and its unfair that ppl who have been playing for years need to explain the basics of what to and not to do in each match.especially when most of them argue with u/ignore u anyways cause they know better

In my experience, the guy with 600 ap is good… the one with 13k+ ap is very bad.

Why?

Because PvE content doesnt make a good PvP player.

Also, and Im stressing this point… the amount of (un-)ranked matches doesnt say anything about skill. Ive seen enough players with < 200 (un-)ranked matches that are very good pvp players… and players with 5k+ matches playing with tunnelvision/doublecap mode on all the time.

The majority of players dont even know the role they are supposed to fill with their build. Or where to position themselves during fights. When to disengage. When to stay on point in a 1v1. When to leave point and recap later.

And thats not because they dont have enough experience in pve, pve doesnt teach these kind of things.

And its also not because they havent played enough (un-)ranked matches, because you can play thousands of matches and maintain a 40ish winrate without realizing, that dieing 20 times per match is NOT good.
As long as anet doesnt punish typical newbie mistakes like double capping one point, dieing too many times, fighting endlessly on enemy capped point, etc, in a very direct way… for example by adding negative score… the amount of played matches is in no way relevant.

And about multiclass… pick one profession, one build, that you learn to play perfectly in unranked. Not just okayish…. perfect.
Pick a second profession/build for a DIFFERENT ROLE than your main (if you main for example bruiser, go for a roamer or bunker). Learn to play it perfectly again.
Now you have 2 roles you can fill out of 3. And thats more than enough for soloqueue.

The worst mistake you can do… is trying to play a build/profession in ranked, just because of profession achievements or for perfect looking teamroster.

Stop doing that, pick one or two instead and stick to them… and you will quite easily break out of this win-loss-win-loss cycle.

Already broke out of it. This was just an example of what happens from time to time. There is nothing you can do when the game forces its 50 50 ration on you. ;-)

yujo.that makes no sense.yes people who pve more than pvp are obviously going to excel more in pve if they are soley pve players.but 13k ap isn even a High example.the people who play more pve have around 25-30k ap.13k ap is like passive ap from playing the game for the last 3 years.nobody started pvp from launch and sat in pvp till today.u spend time in wvw and u accumulate points aswell.and no.i really dont believe the guy with 600 ap is going to do better than the guy with 13k.gws2 has been on sale after sale after sale since last year jan.not to mention the hot release that brought in another flood of new players.these arent guys who have been pvping hardcore since release.these are guys who started playing a month ago and think pvp is as straightforward as kill guys and dont die.then when u try to explain to them things like dont chase that thief around map for 5 mins he cant understand why.a kill isa kill right?i dont care that there are new players i just dont want to be grouped with them in the higher tiers.theres no communication or coordination.pugging ranked has become unbearable and if i waited for my friends to always be online to play id only ever get to play once a day.i dont think its unreasonable to keep players bundled together based on ap.and to those who do think itd make no difference then whats the harm?new dudes get to learn together.old dudes get to die to other old dudes.cersei wins and everyones happy.

So pretty simple question.i wanna purchase gw2 hot,however I don’t wanna buy it from guild wars I wanna buy it from a third party site.my only concern is I’m living in South Africa and I’m buying hot from a us online store.i can’t seem to find a clear answer 100% on if this will be a problem.some people say u have to buy gw2 keys in the region you are in or it won’t work and other people say that’s nonsense and u can buy the key wherever u want and use it on ur account.i have an na account so can I just buy a key from an na online store and use it or am I gonna have any issues?thanx in advance

yeah i know,this isn’t the first time this has happened.except the point here is it hasn’t progressed.as in its not dropping down to less files.theres another thread where someone downloaded over a gig already.and theres no way the patch was that big.so its using internet but its not actually getting any further ><

Having the same problem.mine actually also stops at downloading around 20 MB’s.except I’m at 7 files and have been at 7 files for about an hour or so.which is a first.never been stuck for this long and I’m worried its actually making no progress

Hi.was wondering if any anet staff or players could tell me if theres any way to still buy gem cards in south africa other than via a credit card? BT games used to be the only ones who stocked them but they discontinued them about 6 months ago.thanx in advance

been having the exact same problem just within this last week.never really had issues with this before.constantly getting kicked out to character select with the same error.and a huge amount of lag in game that ive never had before.fix this please as from what i can see its not on my end
