Are you getting tired of Gw2?

Hey guys thanks for all your replies and input. I suppose I wasn’t overly clear in my description.

It’s really hard to describe what I want from the game because I can’t quite put my finger on it. so let me try again

I would like to see a large instanced area, similar to a dungeon but for a much larger number of players (50-100) you can enter individually or in a party of 5 and it puts you into a random instance with other players. There should only be one waypoint, and a few small scattered safe zones with repair stations.

I would love it to have lots of dynamic events, which are tied together with some form of basic storyline. And the events need to feel like they are coming from somewhere not just happening. If a troll attacks a camp it should come from somewhere.

Some form of randomization would be good to see as well, so it’s not just the same troll and the same town every time.

Whatever the new thing is, they need to give it some form of reward which feels like character progression. Armor and weapons are great but it doesnt feel like you advanced, some new skills perhaps.

I’m not tired of guild wars, it’s a beautiful and remarkably refreshing take on the MMORPG genre, I am however tired of feeling safe even in the ruins of orr, tired of feeling like my character is static and just receiving shiny things for my efforts…

let me know if I’m still talking garbage or whether it makes sense now… thanks again for reading and replyinh

Afraid of getting bored.

I will try my best to keep this short…

Me and some friends who loved Gw1 have/are losing interest in the Gw2.

why? Because despite the beautiful graphics, amazing events, diversity of quests, there is something lacking.

what? Adventure. This sounds silly because there is so much to do and so many great places to see. But let me explain. Adventure isn’t seeing great things and doing stuff no one else has done… Adventure only really happens when something goes wrong. It is an imminent and ever present sense of danger and failing.

I still don’t understand what you mean… Let’s use an example. In Gw1 you enter an instance with a party of 8, if you die you get -10dp, keep dying and you eventually get -60dp and are effectively useless. you have no choice but to return to the nearest town and start all over again. Losing hours of work and in essence failing your quest. In Gw2 you enter an area and start doing a quest or dungeon, if you die your armour breaks, eventually it breaks completely and you are useless.. you wp to a safe spot, fix it, and wp back in. losing about 5 minutes of your time, your progress in the dungeon/quest is unaffected and you continue…. there is no loss except a couple silver.

So how would you fix it?…. I would create a perma-instance area.

you just made that up! Yes I did. What I mean is a new lvl 80 area, which you can’t Wp out of unless dead. There needs to be a huge over arcing dynamic event, so that enemies don’t simply respawn when you kill them, but they come from somewhere.

Sounds interesting I guess. Can you give an example of your idea? Ok. Deep in the bowels of Tyria the Grawl are amassing an army. Somewhere in a mass of twisting caverns, deadly creatures and lost ruins they’re building countless outposts. It is up to you and your fellow adventurers to stop them.

Essentially it needs to work in the same way as WvW but with NPC’s. Each outpost they own spawns Grawl, and the outlying areas become hostile. The players have to capture each outpost and key point to drive the grawl back. Once everything in the area except the main Grawl base is taken no grawl enemies spawn. However there are still events to defend supplies from spiders, or protect an outpost from destroyers etc Every 6 hours the Grawl do a massive push to break out and capture more outposts. including sneak attacks on bases held by players.

I really hope you have read this far. I promise I’m almost done.

This Idea takes a whole bunch of things implemented already in Gw2 and combines them with the difficulty of not being able to respawn as well as a sense of achievement because stuff doesn’t just keep keep spawning. I realize it is very similar to the centaur camps in gendarren fields but the refresh rate of the events and spawn rate of centaurs is too high to feel like something has been achieved.

please comment/criticize and generally have your say on this idea, because it is very important to me, and if something like this isn’t implemented I will undoubtedly lose interest in this game soon, and I really don’t want that to happen.

Edit- I apologize for not keeping it short.

Thank you for this class

I agree I love this class, by far the best thing to happen in an MMO for a long time, the perfect balance of healing/protection and fighting.

I would like to see a decent range weapon for us though. I think a bow would suit guardian more than sceptre, but that’s just my opinion.

Just a few needed suggestions!

Ele’s are already one of the strongest classes without the ability to change weapons. All weapons the Ele has give him some form of AoE attack, ranged attack, or healing, I don’t think the changing weapons will do anything but ruin their balance with other classes. If you are having trouble fighting without switching weapons I suggest changing utility skills, or just generally learning how to use your class better.

Overall the level of polish in this game is amazing, and I’m hugely excited about the next big update, however there are one or two things that would make it a bit more enjoyable for me.

1. It’s stupidly simple but some sort of auto follow, like we had in gw1, this would be great for when I’m helping out low level friends and I’m only half paying attention to where we are going.

2. A reorganization of the crafting stations. Currently the crafting layout doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. The huge box showing ingredients in unnecessarily large and the list of ingredients is irritatingly small… I would like to see a grid layout for each type of item. e.g helmet, boots, refinement etc. I realize this would be a fairly major overhaul of the crafting system but at the moment it seems jumbled and confusing.

3. Choosing the level of what I’m crafting. This would make crafted items a lot more useful. Each material could cover a range of levels and you could have a text box where you can choose the exact level of the item E.g. bronze is level 1-25, iron – lvl 26-45, steel – lvl 46- 60, platinum – 61-70 and mythril – 71-80. This way when we craft something we can be sure it’s usable.

And finally a preview system for TP and maybe even an option to examine other players.

Thanks A-net and keep up the good work

Please feel free to comment, criticize and post other suggestions.

Dante’s Last Picnic [DLP] on sea of sorrows.

We are only about 8-10 people at the moment but we’re very active and most of us IRL friends. We pretty much all play on Australian time, but guild chat is always full and we always party for jump puzzles/ dungeons/ WvW and Karma runs.

Whisp Tyrian Aegis (me) in game if you’re interested.

Hey

I’m Tyrian Aegis/Blades, the owner and founder of [DLP]

Dante’s Last Picnic [DLP] is a small guild in sea of sorrows created by a group of IRL friends, we’re looking to expand and find some fun, friendly people. We’re all fairly active and always willing to help new players.

There is no level requirement, but you must be open to partying and helping out whoever needs it.

We regularly do jump puzzles, work on map completion and sometimes WvW. We have a couple lvl 80’s and a few around 30-50.

The guild has a bunch of banners as well as a guild emblem and Armour, and a whole load more upgrades coming.

Whisper me / Aberon the wise/ Sidyiss or Shoe Balls in game for an invite, or just post in here and I’ll get back to you.

XD
