Not Another Skill Delay Topic...

You’re reading this and thinking the exact name of the topic. I don’t blame you, Tech Support is pretty swamped with similar topics these days after the recent patch.

Despite this, there’s still no change. I realize that there has been official responses in the past few days, and it takes times for these things to be addressed, but come on. It’s been quite a while now, and something really needs to be done.

I’m writing this because I’m frustrated over what seems to be a significant lack of progress, I literally cannot play this game anymore at certain times of the day, I can’t do dungeons (I had to leave my AR party as I felt I was holding up progress due to the skill and movement delay), I can’t do WvW, I can’t do group events—that’s pretty much my entirety of my GW2 gameplay. About the only thing that I can do is sit in Lion’s Arch and browse the Trading Post. And as far as I’ve read, I’m not the only one.

I’m gonna play the loyal customer card and say that I’ve been here since beta, and up until now I’ve been impressed at how major issues were addressed. However, what really bugs me is that it seems like that due to the fact that this issue is affecting a minority (albeit a large minority), there seems to be little measures to fix this, and it’s really, really effecting the overall experience for that unlucky few. Really.

I find it really silly that people have had to start to resort to VPN services to simply play the game—that really should not have to happen, and correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve also read that players have been told that it is their individual ISPs that are playing up. I’m not the first person to say that is the height of ridiculousness.

Perhaps I’m venting here, but I really feel this needs to be said. I’m pretty patient, but this really has gone on long enough, I hate the fact that I’m restricted to only certain times of the day to play, I didn’t purchase this game on a rental basis.

I humbly ask that you address this issue ASAP, or if not give us some indication over what the heck is going on. Just—something. I’m thankful that you have started to look into it, but it would be nice to know what’s happening and when you can make this game playable at -all- times again.

Official response on the Lag issues please?

Still getting insane lag. It depends on times, I can play during the day but at peak times like the evening, play at CERTAIN places, becomes impossible, namely Claw of Jormag, or Shadow Behemoth. This extends to WvW, WvW consistently remains a place I cannot possible go due ridiculous amounts of skill delay. Sometimes, the main battleground is fairly alright, but the jumping puzzle is impossible.

Also, I’m in the UK, under Be Unlimited. I believe that’s not on the list. My server is Desolation.

Account Bound vs. Soulbound discussion

-Dyes are not bound, but when used only one character unlocks it. (Why make us get hundreds of dyes for each character instead of sharing them between all characters?)

This was due to some marketing thing. Apparently, during beta, dye use to be unlocked on every character, regardless of which one you learned it on. Someone at anet advised the marketing team that this’d be a bad way to earn money from the store, since dyes would all be learned quick, and (apparently) the economy too, a.k.a dyes’ed all be learned, and prices’d drop.

But the one thing I never got an answer for, but I’m pretty sure is the case is: when legendary weapons are crafted and soulbound on one character, can it be used on any OTHER character in that account if they have to proficiency, meaning is it an account-bound item, and therefore able to be used on other characters? As I said, I have a feeling that the answer for this is no, but since it most likely is, I have issues with this. I spend hours of my time—my high-end goal, to craft a weapon that is identical in stats to other exotic class weapons purely for looks.

I want this weapon, that I spent so long on, to be able to be used on other level 80 characters who can equip it, I mean—it’s only fair. It’s not like it’s giving unfair advantage either—since it’s essentially about aesthetics and hardly the stats as a weapon of the same class can be acquired fairly quickly an inexpensively.

I just find the idea of having to craft the exact same item again on another character if I wanted the same skin frankly ludicrous.

I gather the items required through my account—the ingredients are account-bound, why not the product itself.
