What happened to the rest of the guild CDI? The raid discussion ended and I thought that the CDI was supposed to continue with other guild topics after the forum overhaul. The forum has been reorganized for a while, so why has the CDI not continued? In the very least, I thought GvG remained to be discussed.
Hope this isn’t too late.
Proposal Overview
Remove “Kick From Guild” option from the party drop down menu. Another option would be to add an “Are you sure you want to kick SoAndSo from guild?”
Goal of Proposal
It is easy to select the “Kick From Guild” option in the party drop down menu by mistake when attempting to kick a party member using the “Kick From Party”. I’ve only done it a few times myself since the game released and I have had a few officers do it as well. It’s a minor issue but still one that could be resolved quickly and simply.
Proposal Functionality
Removing the option would prevent accidental guild kicks when trying to party kick. Adding the follow-up question would also prevent accidental kicks.
Associated Risks
Whenever seeking to kick a member from guild, it would be necessary to use the Guild Panel instead of having a shot cut in party, thus adding time to anyone who wants to kick a guildmate from guild while in party with them. Adding the follow-up question would add more time for anyone who does want to kick a guildmate from guild using the party menu.
Same issue of the scrolls from 1st birthday and 2nd birthday not stacking. I did detect a difference between them. 1st year scrolls state “Account Bound on Acquire” whereas the 2nd year scrolls state simply “Account Bound”. Anyone else notice that difference? To me, that means they aren’t the same item, which is a little frustrating, because it makes it so they can’t be stacked.
Topic title says it all. We still have the box sitting in Rata Sum, but it hasn’t been revisited since September of last year and was skipped over on the anniversary of its release. Has there been any official word one way or another or has the community just been left in the dark?
Same thing for my guild today.
Agreed. I would like to see the minis from last year return. Obtaining Mini Festive Golem was really the only thing I was looking forward to with Wintersday. Given that it feel as if very little content was added for Wintersday this year, it’s especially disappointing that they took away the only thing I wanted.
Well, seeing how the Wintersday Mystery Gifts do not appear to be returning, it is unlikely we will get another chance at these minis.
Ha, I just realized they probably didn’t bother fixing this glitch because they’re supposed to be redesigning the trait in today’s update. Doh! Here’s hoping he new version is awesome.
I tested this bug a few minutes ago, it still exists. Hoping for a fix tomorrow!
It would be nice to have the skin but making a skin set that could be used by all armor classes would be unprecedented. I think all armor classes are supposed to somewhat recognizably distinct from one another.
A fun solution to this would be to put multiple god avatar armors out:
Grenth for light
Melandru for meduim
Balthazar for light.
Later, they could bring out armors for the other three gods, though it’d be less straight forward for who would represent each armor type since Lyssa and Dwayna favored casters and Kormir didn’t really favor anyone. Lyssa would best fight light. Dwayna either light or heavy (because of guardians). Kormir could be medium though there’s no reason for it as paragons (her class in GW1), technically wore armor equivalent to warriors and guardians are considered the blending of paragons and monks.
The other solution would be to make three three distinct armors for each God, one for each armor class. That would just be cool no matter how you cut it.
As of now, I do not believe any statement has been given one way or another. The minis themselves were RNG drops from the Wintersday Mystery Boxes that could be purchased from the gemstore last year. If the boxes return, I see no reason that the minis could not return as well. Sadly, I have seen no mention of the boxes returning.
What a bad troll – everybody knows flame rams have their own siege cap.
Except they’re really great as a proximity cap sadly.
To the OP, a one-off day of him doing this they can’t really do anything about unfortunately. Take pix, document it and keep it. If he repeats this for several days in a row, take more screen shots/fraps, document it and file a support ticket. Particularly useful is screengrabs of any chat of him saying he’s doing it on purpose — that’s in map or whispers.
People rage like this all the time. Thankfully for most it’s usually just the one day of it.
I believe he placed some of his rams on the walls and near gates to fill the proximity caps in critical areas, too, so that would definitely hurt us.
I have the screen captures of him actually building the rams next to the supply depot in the keep and of him bragging in map chat, so the first offense is covered. Hopefully, he will not do it again but it is hard to say. To ensure he doesn’t do it again would require the server as a whole to keep an eye out for just one individual going to our fortifications to sabotage us by ram building. We should only need to watch for players from the other servers, not our own. It is disappointing that there really isn’t much we can do to counter this kind of behavior as it happens. Even if we could break siege down, then it would be worse because he would have destroyed all the siege we had already placed to build more rams.
Last night I saw a new low in WvW. A player, dissatisfied with the server’s performance, determined that he was going to transfer servers as soon as possible. While this is an acceptable, personal choice, his subsequent actions were not. He decided he also wanted to punish his server by “sabotaging” it.
To sabotage the server, he went to every keep, tower, and supply camp that we controlled and drained the supply to build Battering Rams inside our keeps and towers. The effect was two-fold: he denied us supply to upgrade our fortifications and he capped the fortifications siege build limits to prevent us from building siege equipment to defend.
Currently, there does not appear to be an applicable category to “report” his behavior. I know many on the server were reporting him as “spamming” since he would occasionally fill map/team chat with boasts of how he was sabotaging the server’s efforts in WvW but even that seems to be a stretch. Should there be an option added to report “griefers”? Otherwise, what is the best option for the server to remedy the situation (outside of “do better” to prevent it in the first place)?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
I am relieved to see I am not the only one who thinks that the achievement panel should be utilized for meta-achievement rewards.
While until the gasmask, no item had particularly struck my fancy enough to want duplicates, I am in total agreement that all earned specialty skins should be added to the achievement panel. The system already exists so I see no reason it should not be used.
