Isle of Janthir
I’m an achiever. I achieve things.
My (human male) warrior’s comment whenever he gets an achievement:
“I’m an achiever. I achieve things.”
Also:
Random NPC in Lions Arch: “By Ogden’s Hammer, what savings!”
Pellam, after the (expected) betrayal of the hylek: “A double-cross? Oh, no. I am toad-ally surprised. How unhoppy for us! Wart are we going to do?” Hylek: “Stop it. That’s not funny.”
Quaggan: “Ooooooh. Nice teeth.”
Quaggan: “You complete quaggan.” Me: “Um, thanks?”
The launch was super smooth. The only problem I remember was that the trading post had a problem and was offline for a couple of days. Other than that everything went well.
Been playing since the first BWE, reserved my copy way back when preorders first opened. I played the original since about a month after release, so I’ve been around a while. The reasons I love GW2 are:
So…. yea. I guess my only complaint is that I wish I had more time to play.
I agree with the OP, the new dailies are awesome. I stopped playing back in December because I was bored with everything. I turned it on this weekend to see if things had improved and man, its awesome now. The ability to choose my daily activities is great. I played Friday night, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Four days worth of dailies and I never really even had to think about them, they all got completed while I was just doing my thing. Not only that, but there are plenty of people around for events (esp in low level areas), the chests are actually dropping good loot, and my server seems to finally be getting repopulated after a mass exodus earlier this year.
I also think the laurels are pretty cool, and the living story is a nice touch. Personally speaking, the game seems a lot more fun than it used to be.
If you want a class that’s easy to play and is good in both PvE and PvP, I’d go with a guardian. Their high survivability and team buffs make them a great asset for anyone, and they’re a reasonably easy class to play when you’re first starting out.
The toy staff wintersday skin kinda looks like a flower:
Everywhere:
“I can totally make that jump.”
“I’m a warrior, I can take a champion solo.”
“I don’t feel like fighting, I’ll just run through that mob.”
WvW:
“Whats everyone shooting at, there’s nothing there?”
“What are all these overlapping red circles?”
“Ha ha, that guy is by himself, this is gonna be easy.”
“I’ll just take this short cut.”
“Why aren’t they attacking? And why are they all standing on top of each other?”
“I can totally take this supply camp by myself.”
Orr:
“Its a big mob, but I’ll just pull a couple of guys at a time…”
“Its not a group event, that means I can do it by myself.”
Dungeon:
“Pfft, I’m level 80, and this is a level 30 dungeon. How hard can it be?”
“I’m used to the difficulty now, I’ll be fine.”
“LEEEEEEEEERRROOOOY JEEEEEEEENKIIIIINS!”
I got hit by this bug last night in a dungeon. Its really annoying having to pay for two pieces of armor for only one death. The Vengeance state should expire on death, its that simple. If its not a bug and is working as intended could someone let us know?
Hello everyone, I’m looking for a guild. A little about me:
I’m a long-time gamer and long-time GWer. I’m a crotchety old man with a job and a life, so I’m generally online for 2-4 hours a night a couple of weeknights (6pm-10pm EST\EDT) each week, and most of the day on Saturdays and Sundays if I don’t have anything else going on. I enjoy PvE, and WvW. I like dungeons, though I haven’t done many because PUGs are maddeningly inconsistent. I also enjoy helping out when folks ask for it. I feel that this is one of the main purposes of a guild.
What I’m looking for:
A guild who is active around the same time I am (6-10pm EST\EDT, all day on the weekends). One whose members play a mix of WvW, PvE, Dungeons, and whatever else I missed. One where people are not afraid to ask for help, and where I myself can find help when I need it. Related to that: one that does not try to dictate my time. I play for fun, and I do enjoy helping people out and playing with the guild, but I don’t like being told that I “have to” come to a dungeon or WvW or whatever is going on that night. Guild size isn’t a big deal, as long as the community is good and there are people to play alongside when I’m online. Moving off IOJ isn’t an option for me, as I have RL friends on the server who I do not want to leave behind.
So, have I driven you away yet with my inane requirements? If not, post your guild info! Or if you have questions post them and I’ll be happy to answer.
Holy crap man, that’s awesome. Seems like you put a lot of time into this, and as someone who is definitely a casual gamer let me be the first to say: thanks! This is really good to know!
So close! Go IoJ! Looks like it’ll be a fun weekend.
