My guild on Dragonbrand had the same exact issue and I submitted a ticket and got the usual copy + paste reply telling me to report the bug (already done) and check the forum (already done) and basically “yes we are aware of this problem, sorry but we will not give you the merits you earned.. too bad.”

They claim to be unable to grant the merits which is ridiculous.

Funny how they are so fast to fix problems that effect the economy (gem store profits) but when it comes to fixing issues that only effect customers they are just “unable” to do anything about it.

Really disappointed in support and the general lack of respect and insulting canned responses to legit requests for help.

They know this bug exists. It is on their end. Why should we get cheated out of 30 merits and a week of our time because they are “unable” to fix a problem on their end?

It makes no sense.

As of right now we are scared to even try another Challenge for fear it will happen again.. and a few people on our server had the same issue. No idea what causes it or how to avoid it. So I guess it will take us a lot longer to build Guild Puzzles now.. let’s hope those work as they should I guess.

this is one of the fights where other people can just straight grief you. it is bad enough when random people show up to guild bounties and the boss scaling is so ridiculous they just make it take way longer.. but this one they can actually make almost impossible lol.

I just guested over to Tarnished Coast and Dwayna is open as of 8:30 am pacific time.

I guess Toast doesn’t want us guesting over for dem temples.

I got a reply from my support ticket.. they told me to come post my thoughts about this issue here in this thread.
Basically they said “We know about this… but oh well.”

I’m not holding my breath about getting the reward. Let’s just hope it doesn’t happen tomorrow. And the next day… and the next day..

Same thing happened to me today and also to some other people in my guild.

I really hope Anet will give us the rewards.. considering the time it takes to get the Laurels… if you have an account full of 80s who all need amulets even one missed Laurel is a bummer of a setback.

This pretty much put a raincloud over the rest of my night of playing gw2 lol.

they finally responded to me with a different reply (because i pestered them..) and said that the matter is being “looked into” but no e.t.a. on a fix.

seems like the matter must have been looked into already since it was listed in the fixes in the patch lol.

one step forward, two steps backwards.

same here.. do not want.. cannot sell.

sent in a support ticket.. not gonna hold my breath. i’m sure this is low on their listof things to fix.. even though the patch notes specifically said they fixed this problem.. you know.. specifically..

edit: i got my canned response back from “support” telling thank you for bringing this to our attention and asking me to submit a bug report. which strikes me as odd because it seems that something that supposedly was fixed in a major patch has already been reported and brought to someone’s attention.

so basically some people are still making over 200g for this item and the rest are stuck with a bug that wasn’t fixed even though the patch notes say it was.

bummer.

go to canach: upstairs in this house located on the SE corner of Kessex Hills just west of Garenhoff. Kill him and talk to him for the next part.

if you get stuck there are guides.. also u can ask people in chat around you at the last part you finished. when they are done they will probably head to the next place.

Also.. it says to talk to him after the event to get the mail in numerous guides.. Dulfy has an awesome guide.

for us it was like this:

he is green and unattackable until the event starts.. then u kill the mobs and get event credit. THEN you have to talk to him again and you will get mail.. which sends you to the next part.
Now if only I could do this on more than one character….

Looks like the new build put Noll back in.. but he’s not responding.. lol.

I still would be stoked if they would put the option to start phase 1 quests on alts back in the game.. considering they gave us no warning we would be unable to do so until right before it was removed.

During mad king you could get the first/2nd parts of the book all thru the event. What is the point of taking out the beginning of phase one for this event? What would the harm be in letting it remain?

yeah we are at Noll right now and he’s nowhere to be seen.. so true.. ALL of phase 1 is not working right now.
I would have just liked to be able to do phase one on my other characters after they supposedly fix the NPC parts.. and that’s my point.. they put out an announcement 15 min before phase2 started saying don’t worry.. you can still complete phase 1 as long as you have the map fragment (which leaves only a couple of minutes to get it on each toon) and in reality you can’t even finish it on the toons who DO have the fragment.
The barrels and stuff are still there on the shore.. we just can’t use them to start phase1 on alts. They could have let us know yesterday that we wouldn’t be able to start it after p2 started. I wouldn’t have done fractals all day thinking I could just do it later.
Bah.

On some of the maps.. like the one with the jumping puzzle and the last boss who has the golems you have to kill if you die at the last boss or fall off the world on accident there is no way to get back up because the door to the robot that spits out aoe poison will be locked and you can’t get back up to the last chest.
at least that’s how it was yesterday.
so don’t fall off.. lol.

Yeah you should have done it.. because they removed the first step of phase 1 when phase 2 started.. but they didn’t let us know that would happen until 15 minutes before phase 2 started. So now you cannot do the quests on any toon that didn’t get the map fragment before p2 started.
Weak.

Yeah too bad they didn’t let us know you wouldn’t be able to get the map fragment after phase 2 started until 15 minutes before it started.. so now a lot of people are only able to do the quests on one toon because they were under the impression that ALL of phase 1 would be available during the entire event.. not just the second half of it.

Dragonbrand overflow.. although i switched over to a different toon and was put in a different overflow where the even has already been completed so I missed out on it completely.
Same thing happened during the lagfest failure yesterday.. I was disconnected in the middle of the event and when I logged back on I was stuck in an overflow where the event was already done.
Awesome. I missed both of the events.
Glad to know this is a “free” content addition so nobody cares if we get to experience it or not.
Also.. cannot complete Phase 1 on my other 80 because I didn’t get the map fragment for more than one toon yesterday. Thanks for not making it clear that the option to get the map fragment would not be available today. Quite a few people I know did not get the fragment on multiple characters.. so they are only able to finish phase 1 on one char.

My wife was having the blank screen issue when trying to access the trading post/gem store.
I tried ALL the fixes I could find and none of them worked.. that was until I checked the system proxy settings and sure enough her computer was setup by 3rd party software to use a proxy (even though we aren’t actually using one) to connect to the internet.
If you are not using a proxy you may want to check the setting just to be sure.
It is easy to check.. open Internet Explorer (even if you don’t use it, like we don’t) and from the Menu Bar click:

Tools > Internet Options > Connections Tab > LAN Settings > Proxy Server > Uncheck the box that says “Use a proxy server for your LAN” if it is checked.

Granted this will only fix the problem if you do not require a proxy to connect to the Internet but your system has been set to try to use one.

In our case I believe it was UltraSurf that changed the setting automatically. But there are numerous programs which could do the same thing.

Just thought I would take a sec to post this because her TP/GS is working perfectly now. No reboot or anything required. Just fired up GW2 and “GREAT SUCCESS!!!”
