Hi everyone!
I’m a reciently new level 80 and wanted to gather some opinions on what armors we Theifs are enjoying! The wiki doesn’t have much info, so I wanted to come here to see what people liked..
I’m looking into getting a PvP or WvW set and the Order of Whispers Armor caught my eye, as did the Balthazar armor set.
What sets do you like using? What builds do you like using with them? And what are you doing with them?
Thanks!
Is there anything in the lore that explains why the shambling, rotting corpses run 2-3 times as fast as a player?
What about half of them wielding anchors that they magically use to pull anyone running by?
Plays a fantasy game.
Upset about “unrealaistic” interactions.
Ummmm how about their magic freaking zombies? Not every movie, book or show has used slow zombies. Some are as fast, if not faster, than people. How boring would Orr be if you could outrun EVERY mob in the zone?
And if you’re going to argue about anchors and stuff just appearing, why stop there? I don’t see my theif reload his gun ever! Wtf is up with that?! Where did that banner the warrior just dropped come from?! WHAT IS HAPPENING!?
Anywayyyyyy, I like Orr the way it is. The volume of monsters means I have to think and pay attention. The exact opposite of WoW when not raiding, where you are a God who destroys entire camps with one cooldown use! Here you have to plan. What’s the easiest way to get to that node? What should I do to get to this event quicker? I this game there isn’t any demounting, killing everything in sight in seconds, grabbing the node you really came for, mounting up and riding off to do it all again 15 seconds later. OK, maybe a little with proper builds and skill, but no where near the level of other games I’ve played. It’s refreshing to be challenged outside of raids.
Yes many people can speed boost or seatlh out of combat while running past, but you still have to think even then. Where will you be when your boost ends? Because you might end up right in the middle of three very angry undead.
Sorry about the necro post. Thought I updated this but it might not have taken. The updated drivers worked! Just wanted to let everyone know the fix worked and try this out if you’re having issues.
Found this gem here on the forums, another user with the same issue reported about 16 hours ago:
The fix that was suggested by ANet:
Hi Rampage – It looks like your Intel drivers are from 2011. I would first recommend checking to see if there are any available updates for your Intel card through Intel’s Download Center: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
Please let me know if this helps!
I just updated my Intel driver (which was out of date), though I did have issues. For some reason their website didn’t autodetect my system correctly in Firefox, so after shutting down other apps/firewall/blockers (and it still not working) I used Internet Explorer. Worked fine with IE (that hurt to say that). Not posting that as a complaint, just as info in case others have similar issues.
I however don’t know yet if this will fix the display, as I am currently re-downloading the client (which was another suggested fix). I found the Intel mention while bored waiting for the client to finish. Not a very good application of the scientific method, as if the problem is solved I wont know if it was the new client or the updated driver that fixed it. Though if it does work I’d guess it was the driver fix and since getting a new driver is much faster than downloading the client, I’d suggest trying that first. As I stated in another comment I’ll post later about what happens.
Thanks guys!

I’m having the same issues on a i7 core. I am currently downloading the newer driver from Intel and I’ll post back later to let you know if that worked for me (I’m also re downloading the game just in case, I’ve had the issue since beta and a similar post by me a few hours ago had a suggestion of redownloading the game).
Hope this helps a little.
I cycled the ambient occlusion between off, quality and performance, each time restarting the game before going back in. No fix unfortunately. I’m currently re-installing the whole game and will post back later if that helped/fixed the issue if there hasn’t been any other suggestions. Though I hope this fixes it…. I love the game but it’s pretty much unplayable when everything is flashing on and off right in your field of view
Hello everyone.
I’m having strange graphic issues with the game and have since the BETA. I know there was a driver fix that was put out, which I believe I got, but it’s still not working.
Basically discolored random terrain and objects will appear and disappear all over the screen. Below are some of the screenshots of what I’m talking about:

Is anyone else running into these issues?
I have a GeForce GTX 560 graphics card running version 306.02 (it’s a beta driver), DirectX 11.0, Windows 7 64bit, Intel i7-2600k and 8GB of RAM (sorry I don’t know what is relevant or not so posting it all).
I’ve gone into the NVIDIA Control Panel and set the antialiasing mode to application controlled but I’m still getting the junk on the screen. What else should I be doing to try and fix this?
Thanks!
