3) The very first guild hall to be captured is Lost Precipice by the guild “Za Drots”. They captured their guild hall less than two hours after launch.

Woah this is rather unexpected to us, we were sure someone else beat us to it. Didn’t really plan to be first, just sorta happened. Well I guess I’ll use these 5 minutes of fame to get some recruits, if there are Russian speakers that don’t yet know about us.

Za Drots is a Russian speaking gaming community with a strong presence in GW2 since launch. We like our WvW a lot, with mixed results most of the time, going to be more active in GvGs with HoT out. We have a sizable PvE wing that is getting ready for raids, planning to launch at least 2 groups when they go live.

Simple delays.
Skills start lagging, people run off in the directions they were going, followed by dcs and huge map load times. Chat seems to work fine during that.

One charge keep upgrade (supplies taken from keep), that fires off orange swords if a gate/wall drops to 75% or so.

By this point any kind of change is a good change.

Oh please, stay out of the kitchen if you can’t handle the heat. We did not get where we are over night and we don’t have any illusions that we will stay there for ever.

Personally I stay for the friends who still play, even the game itself is stale for the longest time. Sooner or later the bandwagon will collapse upon itself once the last of the original commanders/scouts stop playing and we get to crash and rebuild.

Our secret? Drama sustains us. :P

I was severely disapointed by the system when last week is another sfr-koda-deso match up. It just does not make any kind of sense. I was certain deso and kodash would get one week without sfr to duke it out among themselves and get a chance to properly decide who gets second. Instead we got a situation where a server not even in top 3 will get second no matter the outcome. Ridiculous beyond belief.

Just add a simple “You are feeding the WvW developers by buying this pack.” I might consider it then.

This is one of the better changes for tournaments and I aplaud it.

Any wvw player worth his salt does not give jack about achievements or militia that crawls out of whatever pve hole they were hiding in all the weeks prior to the season.

We do what we do because WE are just plain stupid and we love it.

It’s not about the achievements, more about the accessibility of the rewards. All other modes have something that you have to put time and effort to obtain: PvE has Living Story skins and backpice, PvP has a new reward track with exclusive armor and WvW has jack because everyone with 10-15 min to spare can get the same stuff. I personally think it’s not fare for dedicated WvW players who played hours and hours to push their server to higher place in the tournament to get the same rewards as someone who pop into EotM to do 5 events.

And I’m saying that if you want rewards you don’t go wvw.

Will be interesting to see how keep sieges change with the traps. From what I understand wvw is going to be even more supply centric than it all ready was. Can’t throw them siege disablers if ya ain’t got supply. Camps and dollies get a bigger role, maybe force people to actually split off the blob.

Deso has strongest European night coverage at the moment, with SFR second. Join Kodash or Gandarra if you want to fight against these.

I’m sorry, but SFR queues are impossible to deal with. No commanders on borders ever, yet still can’t get on border and EB is 2-3 hour queues, one hour if there is no commander. Just so many randoms throwing themselves at other servers organised guilds by running in from spawns until they are forced to go sell. Perpetual drama both in map chats and server forum makes one of the most toxic environments in the game. Just one huge faceless blob that out PPTs the enemy during the night. Only good thing about SFR is being green in EotM most of the time and best EotM commanders are from SFR. People usually go to wvw map and spam join to EotM (bigger chance to get in) instances where commanders like FSB are atm. All this the number one server in Europe!

Depends on what you want to do playing solo, get fights or be useful. Fights is simple – get a condi build and go find someone not in a condi build.

Being useful is harder. Get a highly mobile or stealthy build. Even then you won’t have the time to be a real nuisance to both enemy sides, so choose one you don’t like the most. Let’s say on EB. Get in TS so you can report any sightings of large enemy groups and get a general idea where the enemies/your guys are by crossreferencing the information and keeping a close tab at the minimap. See that enemy t3 keep with waypoint, 1000 ACs and 500 trebs? The greatest weakness of it is supply. Start killing the dollies. Ignore the enemy roamers, you are here to cut the enemy supply, not get stuck in meaningless fights. Flip camps if there are no guards. Upgrade said camps with the 5silver guard upgrade just before the 5 min buff is out. Nothing like letting the enemy zerg come to flip a camp to find it empty and with a supply trap on top.

1 hour in. Run from tons of scouts who hate your guts – you are their personal nemesis by this point, if in addition you kept tagging the enemy keep gate the enemy commander by now has set a bounty on your head. The enemy has no easy way to resupply and his operations are lagging, delayed by constantly closed wp and the need to flip camps in order to resupply while fighting a treb-cow rich environment which is EB. Main keep supply is slowly dvindling.

2 hours in. Your commander, unless a total dimwit, is now on the offensive and maybe even in the corner you are operating in. Don’t get dragged into your commanders battles keep at the camps on the side your commander is not on. By now most of the enemies are focused on him, the enemy scouts included. Time to capture a camp and solo build a field treb/ac and snipe out some of the enemy trebs/acs in keep. That’s 150 supply per treb that most likely will be drained out of the keep itself rebuilding, people are laizy like that. No siege you can treb down in that scoutless t3 keep or tower? Time to build trebs and acs in the tower your commander just captured by using supply from the enemies own supply camp. The point is to waste the enemy time even more once they come to retake it. Nothing like greeting an enemy blob with a supply drain cow and supply trap. Or destroying the first attempt at catapulting with a well placed ac. Make them face rub the gate or build trebs. Plan ahead of time. You are delaying 50 people alone here – any second they waste is a victory of yours.

4 hours in. The enemy is in disaray, supply in keep is less than half, your people come over to flip and farm the enemy in his own towers. Remember that contested waypoint? By now the enemy scouts do only the most rudimentaly checks while cursing your gut. Time to build a golem and attempt to sneak it to the unguarded backdoor while they are distracted by your commander storming another t3 tower. Whatever you do do not tell your commander you are doing it. Commanders tend to act stupid if they know something like that is going on. Quite a rush seeing the gate go down, waiting to be scouted, let me tell you that. Once the gate is 40ish% inform the commander, he will need time to resupply and figure out a way how to fail storming the inner gate of a keep given to him on a silver plate. Usually done by placing rams at the gate and getting countered by a single treb in 3 hits. Make sure to remind your commander about atleast clearing out the siege at outer in case of failing.

Now at this point I recommend taking a 5-10 min break while the commander does the failing, don’t worry, the attack will fail. It’s normal. After a fail like that the commander will need a break or will have to log off in most cases. This is the hard part, every enemy dolly will be guarded by 3-5 people and there will be no friendly roamers of your own to give ya support. Everyone’s afking. Make a futile attempt at calling for support. Do your best to snipe the supply sources and pray to Davon that the third side will take the oportunity to pressure the weakened side.

Either way, you turned the war in your sides favor and the enemies refer to you in the most imaginitive ways depicting your sexual preferences. You got practically nothing out of it and just lost siege and money.

Is that a new commander that just tagged? Time to start anew. Worth it.

Bugged if you ask me. I save all 7 NPCs solo, watch them go to the lab and the event fails the moment I go close to lab. I forgot that in this game you have to finish the achievements on day one or they will “fix” stuff.

Generally I’m just bugged since I don’t want to redo the story a third time and the green star thing in right top corner of my screen bugs me immensely, will still have to see it there while waiting for Anet to acknowledge the bug and fix it at some point down the road. Frustrating.

There is no intrigue. Bring server match up threads back. Watch drama fueled competition. Give servers their identity back. Make me care about winning against someone. Frankly as it stands I do not care about winning or loosing, neither does the enemy and this is an atrocious, fun killing, state of affairs. It needs to change for wvw to be about epic fights that matter once again. Right now it doesn’t matter how good or bad you are, all is fine as long as the bags keep flowing.

If you fought 20 man vs 50 and still managed to hold your keep you used to be proud about it, it meant that somewhere the enemy did not have 30 extra players that were busy fighting you. You could outmaneuver the enemy, force them to split to defend objectives of their own, do all kids of strategic fighting. As long as the enemy cared. If no one cares about winning it all goes down to who’s more eficient at farming Ultimate Dominator. Pro tip – spam one.

Face it, right now the only server you can get that kind of fight against is SFR and that only because the community leaders still inspire players to care; because SFR is proud about what it has forged. Vizunah was the nemesis a year ago, server pride made every one of their garrison takings a thing to be talked about.Nothing was sweeter than a win against them. Now you have SFR and sooner or later you just might best it, double team in league 3 for instance, inter server drama, the usual. So why not come and fight full force? Is there no community out there that would fight, the odds be kitten ed?

The wvw population is shrinking no matter the cause and without transfers up we all will have just abandoned paper towers, with scavengers running arround 3-4 hours looking for someone to prey upon. Prey that most likely will just switch border and look for someone weaker than them.

I’m surprised Sammstein didn’t ask more people to get to Gandara, three international server match ups in gold for at long last sounds incredible. Also welcome the master economist Wanze to SFR, now not only do we have the armies, but also the wast fortunes of some of Tyrias richest speculants. Hurr.

We use 4 out of 8 classes only as the rest is so useless compared to what these 4 bring to the table. Why hasn’t there been a change in the WvW meta at all?

That’s where I realised the same thing! It’s called GWEN for a reason, alas. The odd veilbot mesmer and enemy ranged pressure thief being a nice addition, but not essencial for it to function. Then again a good mesmer and thief eventually find that they can be very valuable if played right. I’ve seen some not too shabby engies, that sticked it out and didn’t just switch the class, but most of them did and did not go back. I have yet to see a hunter that is actually noticeable help in a larger group fight. I mean besides the ones that help me rally.

You have to 100% another character or buy the legendary off tp allready made. Another option is to buy the gift from someone you trust, provide him with the rest of the matts and he makes it for you.

As to ZDs – AA, TESO and Wildstar happened. We got up to 15 players these days back on SFR doing open raids mostly, waiting for WvW to get exciting again, so we can get some new/old recruits. Quite enjoying the relaxed atmosphere personally now that the servers are in full slack mode point wise.

Join T1, be guardian commander, play only EB and go for openfield fights/tower farms. Even then you should not expect more than 1k kills every 8 hours or so.

Yup, Deso is getting stronger every day they are getting double teamed. People who want to win third season should start transfering in advance. You should talk to Deniara Devious, the self-appointed semi official recruiter for Desolation if you aren’t sure if you should transfer yet.

Although I agree angry rants don’t take us anywhere, not posting here is a terrible idea. The moment this topic’s popularity fades, people will start to forget about it and the exact same thing will happen with these rewards as the season 1 rewards. Absolutely nothing.

I’ve refrained from posting on here so far, but now that patch tuesday has past without even a red post, I’m not expecting anything before july. That said we can’t let this fade into the background, or we won’t even see something come out of this next year.

Ticks used to be every 5 minutes and they raised it to 15 so servers who capped entire maps during off hours only got 1/3 of the score for doing so.

Also, points from stomps make up ~30% of your score. See: http://www.gw2score.com/currentscore/hidden_points_percent/desc During important matchups, like the last week between JQ/TC/SoS, that number rose to 40%+ during the first few days when the matchup was close and people were especially trying for stomps.

If they make points from stomps worth any more, or give points for kills, then I think it would discourage people from defending in outmanned situations because if they die it would be worse than just not defending at all.

Makes me wonder how WvW would change if the tick was half hour or even one hour. Intense fights at camps 5 min pre tick? People preparing towers for defending against tick flip, more defense?
