Also i agree on the name… It sound like its a team based game where you “throw” it around and the have to avoid the creatures and other team… Instead its a game of tag.

Oooo “Crab Tag”….Now that’s a catchy name.

I’ve been playing this game quite a bit to knock out my achievements, and I believe it has the potential to be a great minigame. I feel like there are quite a few issues with it however.

1. Evasion is hardly a factor in this game. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had someone use the “Steal” ability on me while I’m mid-backflip.
2. “Dash” is terribly inconsistent. I’ve literally watched some many other players dash all the way across the arena. I dash 10 meters, if I’m lucky.
3. Additionally after “Dash” is finished, the characters find themselves frozen in place for half a second. May not seem like much, but it’s a huge halt on momentum.
4. At one point this morning we had 3 crabs in play. I won’t lie. This was pretty fun. However, I’m pretty sure that’s a bug.
5. It needs more Karka’s…..I’m being facetious, of course. The last thing this game needs is more chaotic variables.
6. Far too much latency in the click-targetting. And of course tab-targetting is unreliable.
7. Considering how overpowered the fishing pole is, why is the cooldown on it less than the cooldown on “Steal”?
8. The crab itself is held with two hands. How is someone able to blow a conch shell with both hands encumbered?
9. The way the achievements are set up, it’s just another grind. Not a terrible grind. But all hardly anyone is there to do is knock out those achievements.
10. “Crabtastic” doesn’t seem to proc like it should. It’s already hard enough as it is. But for it to not work when you do finally pull it off is a huge slap in the face.
11. Needs more Karkas. I think I’ve already addressed this. In fact, I think you should add both of the bosses from the end of Molten Facility as well. There’s not enough variables to worry about.
12. Why’s it called the “Crab Toss”? I mean, the purpose of the game is to hold it as much as possible. Right? Tossing is a factor…But…I think Apple Jacks taste more like apples than I think this game is about tossing a crab.

It needs some finetuning, ArenaNet. But it has potential.

Well I’d actually be interested to know if any play GW2. I mean, WoW has Chuck Norris. And not that it’s a competition….but it’s a competition.

If you go to the SE coast, it is always sunny. And you can find a lot of tourist drinking, and taking sun next to their bungalows. It’s only the northen side of the island the one who always is under rain effect.

I’m doing the maths now, that signet passive indeed gets more out of hpower than out of Toughness BUT the active, as well as most heals in the game gets a huge more out of Toughness than out of Healing Power, not to mention the base health pool is more resistant with toughness but not with hpower. I would only recommend taking healing power if you’re really into tanking and you already took a lot of toughness to make the heals even better. And tanking through getting smashed isn’t what the Thief excels at anyway so I wouldn’t consider it too seriously.

I’m sure a lot of people will agree though, that if you’re activating your Signet of Malice, then you’re probably done for.

Now I had a set of Carrion gear first, but my guild and I were doing small teams ops with our thieves. Sacking dolyaks, flipping camps, wreaking havok, etc… But I wasn’t really surviving enduring a lot of the fights like I wanted to. When I switched to this Reyna’s gear, I found that I was able to take a guarded Dolyak from under 5 Jade Quarry Invaders with my P/D build. Granted, I may not be at the same skill level yet.

I was considering switching my Reyna’s for Apothecary gear though….I figured that’d give me a little more survivability to swap out the vitality for toughness.

I know it’s not a bug, and I wasn’t really sure whether I should point it out here or not. In the end, I figured I might as well try to help where I can. A lot of people might accuse me of being a kitten, but in my opinion this particular section of the forum was designed to help perfect your website/forum. So nothing personal. I make typos all the time. Only difference is millions of people don’t see mine.

That all follows a basic lack of knowledge on the function and purpose of each attribute, though. Toughness improves self healing far more effectively than Healing Power.

Shadowstep is a good one, as you can use twice in a roll, but dont think of it as a double stun-breaker. Your time to use the second one is limited and in lots of situations if you use it it will get you back to a spot you were already trying to get away of.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve shadowstepped away and then continued to run forward, only to be chased by my opponent, then shadow returned somewhere behind him. And they keep chasing as if I stealthed or something.

yes it is, but not enough to bother stacking it, like most thief healing. a full 30 points in shadow arts (300 healing power) raises the heal from 100 to 110 if I remember correctly.

Which is a 10% increase just from traits alone. It should be noted that gear is the major contributor to stats.

I personally run a P/D condition damage build with Reyna’s gear set. This gives me a good 30% boost in healing that applies to each hit.

It adds up.

Yes, but unfortunately some people don’t have those weeks because of things that happen in real life.. I had PC issues and could only fix them in the past week (coupled with life stuff it was hard to spare enough time to even complete 75% of the event). You do not need to be so condescending. MMOs are not something you need to play 24/7 to enjoy, especially GW2 which especially caters to casual players. Yes, it’s a shame that we couldn’t experience all of the event due to time restrictions but we’re not saying that it’s Anets fault, just that we’re disappointed (especially since the dungeon is arguably 100x better than most of the permanent dungeons and lasted for such a short time).

Please rethink your comment. MMOs aren’t only for people who have all the free time in the world. It’s for people who enjoy playing with others in an RPG environment. Just because some of us don’t have as much free time as others doesn’t mean we don’t have just as much right to play the games and have opinions on the game.

And let’s not forget that half of the collection achievements were bugged on half of the servers….I ran the route that dulfy.net laid out for Lost and Found in Wayfarer’s Foothills, and guested on two other servers. I was only able to get the ones from Diessa, because the Foothills objects were constantly bugged into not spawning.

Don’t start acting like Blizzard customers. ArenaNet is swamped. They JUST released the game. Try and be patient. Their world DOES revolve around you, I promise. Just slowly.

A very small population of players are level 80 at this point, believe it or not. Once players get there, you can guarantee that the demand for those items will go up. Just start stocking up on crafted items in the meantime, and perhaps even buy out other people’s cheap gear to resell for profit come a few weeks time
