I haven’t played since before the trait revamp. Recently I was looking at HoT specializations, skills etc. and I noticed that there are now builds which focus on team healing. Are there now determined roles in gw2, like healer, tank, dps? I have to admit, using the same set of armor with every class gets boring after a while.

I’ve been investing in MF material promotions using skill points and I’ve found it to be moderately profitable. Now I’m thinking about investing in MF skins – those not requiring any gifts. Since I have no experience in this matter, I’m seeking some advice. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any database showing number of items sold by sell listing and buy orders. Do chaos skins ever get sold with listing price? I can see that for some items the supply/demand ratio is about 1/10 or less but I’m unsure whether people buy them with ‘buy instantly’ and how long does it take. Is it a matter of weeks or months?

Is there any EU guild, which plays this game without using exploits, standing on top of one another’s head(this looks disgusting – you stay under a huge norn or furry charr and on top of that there is an enormous spider…) going through walls or jumping on tiny, invisible ledges? Also, but not necesarrily, I would like to play with people who do not brag all the time on TS about how much gold they made selling dungeon runs by skipping everything but the last boss.
I’m mainly PvE player, occasionally WvW. I use micro and play mostly in European timeframe.

Currently I run with AH based build I found on YT, called “all purpose pve pillar build”. I only switched Writ of Persistence for Empowering Might. I use 6x Superior Runes of the Fighter and Sigil of Strength on my hammer. I’m thinking about changing runes for 6x Superior Runes of the Scholar for better dps or 2x Monk, 2x Water, 2x Traveler to upkeep Might and Retaliation for longer. I also consider switching to Superior Sigil of Bloodlust or Superior Sigil of Perception for dps boost.
Do you consider this build to be decent? Of course it’s not zerker, full dps build but I’d like it to stay balanced as it matches my playstyle. Should I change things I pointed out? Also, what food would you recommend? I currently use + power + precision food and Sharpening stones.

Thanks for all the feedback. I know healing is not the current meta and it’s not the fastest build to run through dungeons. I also know that there is no ‘designed healer’ but there is huge imbalance in builds used nowadays, vast majority of them being zerker builds. That’s also the reason why some dungeons are not popular as they could be, as they require more balanced teams. I just like healing classes, played monk in GW1 for 4 years and I also prefer green numbers over red ones. And while some people can take care of themselves, it gives additional possibilities to run with 1 full healing guardian. Lately I’ve been doing Mai Trin fractal (lvl 11+, it may be invalid for higher), where we stacked near her with our guardian overhealing all the damage and her shield came down real quick.
Especially thank you for pointing out lack of condition removal in my build. I got used to thinking that conditions are removed by prot monk ^^

This is what I came up with. It focuses on team support so I chose Battle Presence over Altruistic Healing. I would like to hear your suggestions about:

1. Battle Presence vs Writ of Merciful vs Writ of Persistence. Which combination gives better party heal? I understand that Battle Presence works well with Absolute Resolution. I don’t know if I would be able to get greater healing from larger symbols giving pure healing + regeneration or passive effect of Virtue of Resolve

2. 2x Runes of the Traveler or 2x Runes of Dwayna? Is all boon (including regen) duration better than +50 pure healing power and +20% regen duration

3. Which food should I use? I was thinking about Chocolate Omnomberry Cream, Bowl of Saffron-Mango Ice Cream and Omnomberry Cookie

Is there any Orr event train these days? If so, where and on which server mostly?

There were also some…anomalies in GW1 like all 8 party members using the very same build (Ursan) or Assassins soloing half of the UW – it actually required some skill and experience so for me it was fair.
I think my problem is that: I started playing from the headstart and I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of possibilities, areas to explore etc. Then I had about 7 months of break and when I came back it was like this game had been around for 3-4 years, everything was done, everybody had completed the whole content. So now when I discover those end game activities, they are already being farmed instead of just being played. Selling dungeons makes it harder for new players to learn tactics and it spoils the game. Hovewer I understand that it is a result of a lack of new challenges for accomplished players.

It is affecting my gameplay because less people want to do dungeons in a traditional way. It isn’t against the rules yet, but it should be. I don’t play this game for numbers (yea, those dungeon tokens and achi points are just numbers) but for content – meaning for example challenging and interesting boss encounters. Moreover, most people tend to forget that it is a MMO Roleplaying game. How am I supposed to roleplay a dragon-slaying hero when I see folks jumping across walls in undead-haunted city to get a shiny chest once a day?

I have a quick question to any Anet representatives who might be reading this thread. When are you going to wipe out dungeon selling? What’s the point of the whole game if you can just buy end game content? It’s killing the fun and makes it difficult for people who just want to enjoy it as it was supposed to be.

I really like my GS so I came up with this Berserker GS Build for PvE. I know it’s not as efficient as axe/mace build but I think it’s also quite good.

here’s how it works:
-around 50% base crit + 15% from HF trait + 20% from Fury that’s 85% crit chance
-with “For Great Justice”, Arcing Slice and Signet of Rage I’d be able to maintain constant Fury
-full adrenaline bar 90% of the time thanks to Furious trait
-high DPS with Might stacking from Forceful Greatsword trait and Vulnerability stacking from Rending Strikes trait

Hi, I’m a casual mmo player with rich experience in GW1 and some skill in GW2. I’m looking for an active, friendly, English-speaking guild. I’m hoping for some dungeons, general PvE, guild missions and friendly atmosphere. I’m active in EU hours 5-6 days a week.

Hi everyone!

I’ve been playing since head start but I never thought about claiming my GW1 rewards. Now I wanted to get it and Kimmes says that I’m not worthy though I have 20+ points in HoM calculator and I have linked accounts. I’ve found a solution requiring logging in GW1 and viewing HoM in there but it’s been long since I removed GW1 client from my PC and it would take ages to reinstall and update it again. Is there any other workaround?
