Mouse losing focus -right click to turn not working [Merged]

This is a game issue – which I am actually suffering from now. I wasn’t when this post started, that’s for sure. Some update or something has broken proper mouse support.
This is on a brand new Logitech G700 (I replaced my old one with a new one 2 weeks ago due to ACTUAL button issues).
I don’t even run Setpoint software – the mouse has onboard memory and I just loaded my old profile to the new mouse via my Laptop (that’s where I keep Setpoint installed as I don’t want bloatware on my PC).
Needs fixing.
This is an interesting case since the G700 can be used wired or wireless. Does the problem persist if you use it wired?

I posted a suggestion in the suggestions forum requesting a mouse look toggle, which I think would go a long way to resolving our problem. It would be good if you could show your support at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/A-mouse-look-toggle-please/358252
Quite a few people have been having trouble with their right-mouse buttons dropping out and it occurred to me that this would be solved by allowing us to bind a key to a mouse-look toggle. By that, I mean a key that when pressed once gives directional control as if the right mouse button was pressed, and when pressed again returns to a normal cursor.
The more I think about this, the more I think I would like it even if I didn’t have the right-mouse button problem. My fingers can get awfully tired keeping that right mouse pressed down when running around, and I never use the mouse cursor unless I am doing inventory management or crafting. Everything else is done with the keyboard or another mouse button.

I put in a ticket quite a while ago and they have been helping me try to fix it. Nothing works so far though. Now they are asking me to make a video of it happening, so it might be a good idea if we all did that and linked to them on this page.

For me this has now gotten so bad that the game is pretty much unplayable.
The most irritating thing about the personal story is that if I am too high level for it, I will be reduced to a level below the mobs’ level and then they cream me. It seems particularly sadistic.

Any news on this problem?

This problem seems intermittent. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Makes it difficult to test…

Could be – but that would imply very odd (i.e. intolerant) coding from AN, since it doesn’t affect any other program. It is still something that needs to be fixed by AN I think.

Looks like lost of people are having this bug.
I will just throw in my 2c, although I confess I haven’t read the whole thread.
I have this problem too, when playing a female character. It is definitely not just an audio problem though. If you look closely you see that in the “silent dialogues” the silent character’s lips don’t move. Normally when the characters speak they automatically lip synch, but don’t do this if the sound is missing. So it is not just the sound cutting out – it is a bug where the game thinks they shouldn’t even be speaking.

For me the problem goes away entirely if I use a wired mouse. It has to be wired though – I tried another wireless one (also a different make – not Logitech like my usual mouse) and the problem is still there. I would rather not use my crappy wired mouse though…
Windows 8 might be released to the manufacturer, but that doesn’t mean everyone else is completely ready for it – AMD, nVidia, etc. There are still going to be several bugs on release and it will be several months (just as with any OS) before Windows 8 will be ready. So no, it is just silly to ask for support for GW2 on an “unpolished” OS. There’s enough in the works for ArenaNet than to deal with this at the moment.
What rubbish. Of course they are ready for it. Microsoft doesn’t just throw a new version of windows out with no prior heads up to the card manufacturers. NVidia etc have had Windows 8 for months and there are perfectly good drivers for it on their site. One could always argue that it is buggy of course, and hopefully that it will become less buggy with time, but from my experience of it so far, it is already less buggy than Vista is years after release.
And I am quite sure that ArenaNet has Windows 8 installed for testing purposes and has already done extensive testing. Pretty soon it will be the default operating system for newly bought machines, so it would be pretty stupid of them not to have tested it!

I have the same issue. I submitted a ticket to support about this and they have gotten back to me a few times with suggestions of things to try, including disabling all other non-essential programs and services, updating drivers and wiping all traces of old drivers from my system. Nothing has worked so far, and I am pretty convinced this is a GW2 bug, pure and simple.
By the way, I am using a Logitech MX3200 keyboard/mouse combo. I have never had any other issues with my mouse in any other game.
