I bought fallout: new vegas complete with all DLC for 10$, while someone at release paid 60$ for the vanilla game. The dlc were like 10$ each. Prices drop all the time, especially with sales, it’s a pretty common thing with software.

Anyone else think asura shoulder armor is too small?

I understand the Norn has bigger shoulders because he’s bigger, but the proportion is just so much too. You can barely see Asura shoulder armor now, while the norns eclipse his entire head. Are our(asura) massive head size supposed to make up for it?

Also our weapons look like toothpicks, I feel sorry for any Asura that uses 1h weapons, because they’re so tiny(and clip into almost all armor). Even 2h could use a size increase, I have a legendary hammer but it just looks like a small staff or something.

I’m curious what others think. Anyone else with an opinion on this?

I think people are just scarred by WoW and WoW-type games. They were all about vertical progression, gear treadmill, more vertical progression. The idea of getting stronger over time has been around much longer than they have, in games that were much more than raiding for epics.

Your gear isn’t outdated? There’s like 2 rings with a minor stat boost and a back piece, mostly easy to obtain. I have 10 rings sitting in my bank right now. Do you need to run out and buy the latest greatest computer parts every time new ones are released? Same deal.

Also they’ve all but confirmed that this is the last tier of gear, but there will be level cap increases and better infusions in the future that will be better than what we have, so this probably isn’t the game for you if it bugs you that much.

Eternity is a 100% massive waste IMO. You’re even better off just having both and swapping whenever you feel like it. You keep footprints this way, too.

They mentioned when they were adding this island that it was to be an ongoing everchanging place. Now that the karka’s gone I imagine the consortium will be setting back up and we’ll be doing something else there come wintersday. For now though it’s dead quiet, because, well we killed everything.

I’m done with these forums. Every thread here seems to devolve into the same noise about how Anet deserves to fail because of X fotm issue. It’s something new every week, it’s disgusting to see over and over, and makes conversation about other topics near impossible. They should just rename general discussion to QQ chat and be done with it. This new patch brought dozens of changes and new content to the game, and Anet is doing a stellar job at adding things like new areas, events, and lore, but everyone here is still hung up on this one single thing.

My advice to people looking for civil discussion on the game to check out reddit, the front page there is filled with relevant news and discussion without the constant whine.

You know wrong, they will have the same stats as ascended weapons, as stated by the devs already.

These things were fixed last night, you guys can chill out already. The man’s not going to be on top of every single change that gets pushed through all the time.

I agree, especially as an asura, you can barely tell I have the thing. The footprints are too small, and the effect just makes my armor monochrome. The weapon swing effect is a joke.

The concept is really neat, it changes colors based on where you are, etc.. But the effect isn’t really noticeable in most places. Most people see the youtube showoff video and think this weapon is really great, but it’s just sorta meh.

Don’t worry, hammer is boring too. The concept is neat but in actually all it does is turn my armor monochrome, and no one notices that I even have it(as asura, maybe it’s different if I was bigger). GS is just super flashy and so it’s miles ahead of everything else. I don’t think incinerator needs a buff, twilight just needs to be toned down. I’m bored of seeing it already.

I just don’t want to go underwater to kill him. I hate underwater combat so much. Maybe HE will be the new island, and we can just stand on him and stab him to death crosses fingers

There’s always going to be someone that misses out on these, they know that. If I always spend Sundays with my family I would never see the event. That’s why the events are designed in such a way that you aren’t missing anything that you can’t youtube later.

There are plenty of reasons to do dungeons, but this thread isn’t about their viability. I agree this event happens too frequently now that the zone isn’t quite as busy as it once was.

They all look “pretty cool” but for most, unless you zoom in on them you can’t see the fine detail that goes into the weapon. Imagine a scepter or a dagger on an asura… You aren’t going to notice it, even worse because 1 hand weapons clip into most pants.

I had this a lot, and my game would crash shortly after. Also farming in Orr, most annoying thing ever missing stuff because of having to restart the game.

But lowering sound quality fixed it for me. 2 ticks below whatever max was, I think(not in game now so can’t check).

The only good legendaries are the Greatswords due to the huge trails they leave and the window effects on the weapon(and also footprints). I have a juggernaut which I would say is the 2nd best legendary and most people won’t notice that I have it unless I flat out mention it. Occasionally someone will ask what dye I’m using to make my armor shiny, but it’s not very often. The others are all very weak for the effort required.

Don’t get me wrong, they are all neat looking weapons. But for something to be “legendary” and require that much time and energy to create and then be something like the shield that looks worse than the Halloween skins is very disappointing.

Unless they re-purpose Orr and Arah I wouldn’t count on it. Technically if you’re in Orr Zhaitan is still alive regardless of whether or not you’ve finished the story mission.

These guys are fair and any player with experience will be able to find a way to avoid/live through the attack. The problem I have with these guys are they’re position in the lowest level dungeon, the entry level dungeon for most players. These guys alone make this dungeon harder than some of the higher level places.

big mobs aren’t even worth fighting in Orr. That risen champ abom with 5000 people attacking it isn’t even worth sticking around for.

DST is one of those things we do even though no one really knows why we do it. It’s perpetuation does have a lot to do with farmers and people that work outside even if that wasn’t the reason it got started, and it’s meant to encourage folks to go out in the evening and do things during the summer(that involve spending money). The cost of a lightbulb for an extra hour at night is negligible. It also ties in with TV schedules, as new seasons start around the same time that DST ends. There’s plenty of big corporations that benefit from DST, and that’s why it exists, sadly. I’m just glad it’s finally over.

Seems like a pump and dump. These things MIGHT go up, but everyone willing to spend more than 30g on a chainsaw skin already has so I wouldn’t count on it.

They do this a lot. One of them was in PvP doing something or another recently. But they are devs so they are usually doing, well, developing..

Yeah the GS are leagues ahead of the rest as far as looks and effects go. I got the hammer last night and while the ideas behind it are neat, in actuality you can’t even tell I have a legendary. Perhaps it’s because I’m asura, but the tiny little footprints are hard to see and the armor effects go unnoticed even by myself. The weapon itself is very bland looking. And I know that this weapon is much better than some of the others.

Almost assuredly leading up to the sea dragon that scares sea creatures from the depths of the ocean. Which sucks because the last thing anyone wants in this game is more underwater fighting!

I got screwed on clovers as well. It’s not a huge deal. By the time you actually get a precursor that extra 200k karma isn’t going to matter. I’m completely done with everything except that 1 item, and I’m broke. RNG is a kitten.

I just hope that all the QQing from a few over-vocal complainers doesn’t keep you folks from developing difficult content for some of us. This is the biggest problem with MMOs for me, the only difficulty in any of them comes from PvP or trying to organize a large group of players to work together. Despite how gorgeously crafted and well designed the game world is, this small jumping puzzle was the only time in all my hours I felt challenged and satisfied when I completed it. And that’s a complement, because no other MMO post-“other game” era has given me that feeling at all.

There’s quite a few obscure recipes that no one would really have ever thought to try. The latest one is a goblet that uses one of the soulbound “bag of gems”(I’m not really sure where they come from). It was discovered just in the past few days. I’m sure there are plenty that we just haven’t figured out yet.

I think you did an excellent job on both the JP and the MK Map. If the JP had been instanced for single-players or small parties like the story missions are then 90% of the frustration players had would be gone, assuming it’s not just a red herring. Sad to hear the chances of a wintersday JP are low. I think some neat things could be done with avalanches and sliding down snow slopes and such.

If wintersday recipes work like halloween recipes did then we’ll probably see a spike in price then, but for now they aren’t used for much. I’m also trying to find uses for them, I know they can be used for the gift of Ice which in turn makes the unique ice bows. Apart from that and legendaries and a few useless runes they don’t do too much. I’ve bought a decent amount and I’m going to sit on them and see what happens. The price really can’t get much lower than it is now.

I just flipped through over 600 pages of bought hammers, that was depressing enough. I don’t even want to try to count these things. I’ve done cheap exotics and rares, they both end up being a loss in the long run.

I’ve dumped around 200g into getting a colossus with no luck. I was very smart about it too, using buy orders and buying hammers low, selling back named exotics, etc. I wish I had counted the number of combines I’ve done because it’s well into the 1000’s.

No precursor, and now I’m completely broke. I have no choice but to head to Orr and farm for pennies to try my hand at gambling again. There’s no use saving up, as there are no longer any Colossus listed on the AH. The ones that do go up now will be in the 500g range I’m sure, and by the time I get 500g they will have gone up more. My only real choice here is to play the stupid forge RNG. It’s not fun, it’s not challenging. Terrible system.

If they wanted us to dump yellows in for the market’s sake they should have had a much higher chance of getting some “shattered peice of colossus/dusk/whatever” that we had to combine in the forge to make the whole weapon. The same amount of yellows would be leaving, but it would take a lot of the randomness out of the process.

It’s probably just the same as throwing any other x colored item in the forge.

I added the longbow to the wiki. Is there a list of undiscovered models somewhere?

Probably one there is already a path to. Dominion of winds is a possibility(although we’re expecting a new race with this area, and I think they would have advertised that). There’s also a road leading west to an island from Sparkfly Fen. These both will lead us in towards the Sea of Sorrows, which means leading to more water combat(blech)

Someone with a gift of ice should try this. I’m not a ranger so I don’t want to end up with something that only makes a bow

Is there a recipe for wintersbite?

So there’s gotta be a recipe that uses these things.. the price is down to an abysmal low compared to other loDestones probably thanks in part to the spelling and a lack of uses right now compared with the other stones. I’ve heard rumors of an ice bow similar to what the ele’s summon but haven’t found anything.

I’ve been trying to put these in the forge with other items, but haven’t had any luck at all yet. Here’s what I’ve tried:

no dice:

-all weaponsmith weapon blades(and hammer heads, etc)
-most other lodestones
-vial of quicksilver
-ectos
-most t6 crafting mats

If anyone has one of these lying around, check and see if it lets you combine it with anything new in the forge. Possibly bow parts, if anyone has hunstman leveled or wants to buy them. If anyone is working on frostfang possible the gift of ice could be used here(or other crafted legendary gifts at this level, my vial of quicksilver was a no go)

I was on for this and it was no where near as kittenome of you are complaining. There were some people logging on and off at the end maybe, but I doubt they got that much more than I got, as I doubt the chance of logging in next to a chest was even that great. I ended up with around 8 or so of the lvl 76 exotics after a few hours, which aren’t worth much of anything anyway, maybe 50-60s tops each. I doubt I made much more than just farming in Orr for a few hours. It wasn’t “100’s of exotics” as some people seem to think.

I’ve been trying to find something new for glacial lonestones with no luck, as it’s probably the most unused lodestone right now. My vial of quicksilver also doesn’t seem to mix with anything other than the expected mats for legendary, it doesn’t mix with coins like everything else so I’m assuming it’s not used in other recipes.

I feel your pain, I’ve spent over 150g worth of rare hammers trying to get the Juggernaught precursor. And this was with being smart, placing buy orders, buying them cheap, etc. The worst part about it is that I am not any closer to getting it than when I started, that money is just gone. The hammer is around 300g now, and if I had saved my money I would be half way there. Instead I’m broke with nothing to show for it.

I have almost everything else I need, including the expensive Icy Runestones, lodestones, and the huge karma timesink done, but with no precursor none of it matters. I have no motivation to farm 300 gold now to buy this stupid thing, and the thought of throwing more hammers in the forge and crossing my fingers is depressing. I will probably just give up at this point.

butter’s doubtful due the the massive supply, sugar is sold by an npc. Eggs are used in cookies so it’s possible.
