I believe that they did mention that HoT will be required to receive any Living Story updates. I don’t really remember the source, but I’ve heard it a few times. After all, all of the story is taking place in the HoT zones.
I’ve been away from GW2 for a while. So far, I haven’t found any reference to HoT being required for Living Story updates. If someone has a link to the reference, please post it. Thanks!
Season 3 is basically HoT. HoT will feature its own personal/living story.
They might not even go back to the old system. Season 4 for example might simply be locked behind HoT rather than requiring you to login. I doubt ArenaNet even knows what they’ll end up doing – they keep experimenting.
So, let me see if I understand what you’re saying. I’m just going to use Season 3 as an example to make things easier for me.
HoT contains Season 3. In order to unlock Season 3 by logging in during the time period for episodes, I must have HoT already purchased. Is that right?
(Not sure where to put this question.)
Can I log in to the game to unlock the Season 3 story without purchasing HoT? I don’t mean to actually play the Season 3 story as that will require purchasing HoT. I just want to unlock the story by logging in during the specified time period (and purchase HoT at a later date in order to play the Season 3 story).
Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is feasible in-game.
Basic Assumption: Half of the active GW2 population does not use the forums.
Suggestion: In addition to ArenaNet asking GW2 players for feedback on the forums, I’d like to see an in-game system where GW2 players can take a survey.
Example In-Game System:
(1) Upon login, GW2 players receive an in-game mail notification.
(2) The in-game mail specifies a location (Rata Sum?) and a NPC to speak with.
(3) After speaking with the NPC, the GW2 player walks over to a console and takes the survey.
(4) The survey would consist of various questions/answers and a comment box where appropriate.
(5) The length of the survey and for how long the survey will run in-game is up to ArenaNet.
Example Survey:
Have you participated in the revamped Tequatl event?
(a) Yes
(b) No
Regarding the revamped Tequatl event, do you find it…
(a) Too hard! Bring back the original Tequatl event!
(b) Just right! There should be more content like this!
(c.) A mixed bag! The new content is nice but, I’d like to see a few changes!
(d) I have not participated in the revamped Tequatl event.
Tequatl Event Suggestions:
[ Insert suggestions here. Leave blank if you have not participated in the revamped Tequatl event.]
I thought the whole point of Dynamic Events was to let random people come together and accomplish the events. With Tequatl, it’s now about gear, guild affiliation, and tactics. In the past, ArenaNet has always stressed the importance of community and players helping players. However, the new Tequatl fight is just dividing the community.
My husband and I were at the same point in our Personal Story. We started with Pets and Walls Make Stronger Kraals. We took turns on who would start the next step of the Personal Story. Everything was fine until we did The Lost Chieftain’s Return. My husband’s character is Vigil. My character is Order of Whispers. At the end of The Lost Chieftain’s Return, I was prompted to Accept progression or Stay in the current story. I hit Accept. Now, I’m being told to see the Vigil (Forewarned is Forearmed) instead of going to see Order of Whispers (Suspicious Activity) for the next part of my Personal Story. Is there any way this can be fixed? If not, is there a way to rollback my Personal Story? I don’t care if I have to repeat the steps starting from Pets and Walls Make Stronger Kraals. Thank you.
Per CC Eva, I am re-posting here:
I don’t know if the audio track plays anywhere else in Divinity’s Reach. While I was at the Armorsmithing station, an inappropriate audio track was heard. It’s one of the random tracks you hear to make Divinity’s Reach sound like a bustling city.
The audio track is of a woman sighing in pleasure while she’s in the throws of passion. This is not a yawning or stretching sound.
Note: I would have preferred to email this. However, I couldn’t find a way to do so.

Within a day or two of my post, I noticed that the inappropriate audio track was gone. I really appreciated that. However, after today’s (February 19, 2013) server maintenance, the inappropriate audio track has returned. To put it mildly, even my husband says it’s excessive.
I didn’t know you could do that. Thanks for the information.
I’d like to see an option to “cancel” or “exit” the character creation screen.
Example: I create a new character. After some playtime, I want to look at the other character creation options for the race/profession I chose. I go into character creation, check the options, and decide that I’ll keep what I chose. Now, I want to go back to the character select screen to continue playing. However, I can’t do that. I’m stuck creating a character (that I’ll delete) or exiting the game client altogether.

When I log in to the GW2 website, my account’s e-mail address is fully displayed under my account name. This is bad in that, if someone passes by while the person is logged in on a shared computer, the passerby can potentially get the account name and e-mail address “over the shoulder” of the person using the GW2 website. If you value account security, please change this behavior. Thank you.
I submitted this to support and was told to post here instead.
