Revenants are a far cry from needing any kind of nerf with the way sPvP is looking right now. 60-70% of my enemies are reapers and they counter rev hard as kitten.
Get rid of this garbage troll thread.
I don’t agree with these.
+1 to the OP
While originally it was frustrating having to get my MMR back to where it should be… I’m now finding that my teammates seem to be of the same caliber as I feel that I am and if we lose… it’s because we were outplayed or we were simply up against much better opponents.
Games the past 2 days, after working my way up to Saph 4, have been a LOT more fun.
1. Solo PvE build and tactics
Tools like this come in handy when talking builds/gear: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/guardian/
As far as tactics… experiment with every weapon set’s abilities and find what you like… it’s part of the fun in gw2.
2. Finding a Dungeon party
www.gw2lfg.com Check it out…thousands of us use it. It’s invaluable for finding dungeon groups or starting them yourself. I’d recommend just joining someone else’s group to start… the command /join Focus Face is an example of how you’d join someone’s party in game.
3. What ever changes I will need to make to my PvE build to make It Dungeon viable
Do a little digging on these forums (guardian subforum) and you’ll find quite a few threads dedicated to just that.
4. I would like to know of any money making tips such as crafting and mob grinding
I think the general consensus is that crafting will cost you money… it won’t make you any. My experience so far is that there are 3 decent ways to make cash:
- Open world boss mobs. Use this site to monitor when the bosses are spawning on your server: http://guildwarstemple.com/dragontimer/
- Cursed Shore events/mob farming. I think this zone provides a large number of events which net you karma and plenty of loot if you tag a lot of mobs during the events for loot credit.
- Dungeon runs. Dungeons in general will get you a fair amount of cash from both completing the dungeon as well as loot along the way.
5. What would my PvP gear/Build have to be?
Again, I’d suggest browsing around in this guardian sub-forum a little more… there are numerous threads dedicated to different builds and how they should be played to be most effective.
It exists. Everyone uses it. You’re welcome!

I like the way you’ve tweaked the build to fit your needs… no one plays their guardian exactly the same all the time. At first I questioned your selection of Protector’s Impact but after thinking on it for a few minutes… I completely understand where you’re coming from… so many cliffs to jump off to save travel time and that can actually help you evade enemies if needed. My advice would be to ignore your lack of healing power… it doesn’t scale well enough to compare to other stats.
I spent the last week or so playing with a boon duration build/rune set and while I loved the long swiftness/protection/retal/regen/etc… it definitely left my character feeling weak in all other areas. I’ve since swapped back to a heavy hitting hammer/crit signet/shout build that is well balanced enough to perform well solo and in groups.
Nice staff changes!
Good changes overall.
Yep, lfg.com is the way to go. Instant parties for any dungeon.
Hello everyone,
Myself and ~4 others are relatively new to GW2 and we’ve just recently finished the trip to lvl 80 and we’ve begun hitting some of the dungeons. We are long time MMO vets with past experience in Darkfall Online, WoW, Shadowbane, UO, and numerous others…
We tend to enjoy the PvP aspect more so than PvE but we’re competitive enough to understand the need for PvE… so we’ll hit dungeons and outdoor boss encounters and whatever else is needed as hard as it takes to be in a position to dominate WvW.
We’re looking for a clan that’s fairly established with an active playerbase that we can meld into and work with on dungeon runs and in WvW. None of us have the drive to start a clan like this from the ground up… so please contact me if you have questions and/or think your clan would be a good fit!
Thanks
