No. I finished the weekly pips by Sunday evening. My job only begins monday morning. Please consolidate to the megathread.
Asus rog laptops in price range 1500+ eur are just as good as desktops in wvw. The server side limits you before the laptop. They are bulky (I use 17") but they dont heat up and are more silent than desktops also.
Just confirming skill lag can’t be reduced from player side. Your own computer renders environment which most often run smoothly even when a single heal takes 1 minute to execute. Roll over your character while experiencing skill lag and see yourself.
When stat swap utility on non raid armor?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

In wvw it is very useful to be able to change stats on armor regardless the runes. Getting a bit more touhgness / vitality when joining a zerg is very practical. Those traveller / leadership / strength etc. runes all work with varying level of glassy armor.
I raid in order to be able to swap stats in wvw. PvE is just about berserker anyways save some raiding roles that can be covered with asc sets of armor.
Excellent post, thank you!
Problem is that current rate of LI is balanced for legendary armor. If there ever was an easymode then there would be lots of upset players when they realize that for full armor set they needed hundreds and hundreds of easymode runs. If they would lower the requirement of LI and balance it for easymode then most raiders would stop raiding and just farm these easymodes.
Before anyone throws arguments like “raiders only raid for the challenge – not loot” I can assure you are wrong. Raiders DO enjoy the raids but there is the loot aspect that eases pain while wiping and spending gold for gear and consumables. Having a healthy raiding scene in a game is a big bonus in MMO comparisons new potential players read.
Another problem with easymode would be that current mechanics you either manage or wipe. If you lower this so that you wouldn’t wipe for a failed mechanic you will essentially have new 1111111 – get loot.
A practical example why easy mode with low rewards would only lead to more problems:
Weekly cap for magnetite is 150. Assume that for easy mode the cap would be e.g. 15.
Matthias staff has cost of 600. Grinding 40 weeks for one skin would really upset people.
I wouldn’t even start with the legendary insights that take several months for raiders to get 150 for the armor set. Easy mode would be years.
I do watch pvp on twitch and YouTube. It is great entertainment and I can’t wait for weekend finals.
Having that said There is lots of room for improvement. Single player view is good as is but tournament camera is problematic. It often jumps from one place to another with seemingly little reason. I often find myself more interested in side point assaults and 1v1s where as the tournament camera just hovers over the mid and all that can be seen is particle effects.
Another viewership improvement would be larger minimap at least so that player Icons don’t hide other icons. You can’t really count reliably from the mini map where the players are located if all are stacked on two nodes.
I support the OP. Bring badges back and make them toggleable for other players.
Leagues were advertised by bragging rights for nice tags. Tags removal combined with players finishing legy backpack will have necative impact on any future PvP season!
I also go back to -92 MUDs and EQ raiding so I couldn’t resist throwing in my 2 cents:
Raids in GW2 are most accessible to players compared to any other MMO I’ve played in last 25 years. There is always some overhead to start but there are lots of informative posts helping to get over it.
I also love how raids mechanics in GW2 involve most players in team and not just tank and healers.
Back to the topic: Great raids and give us more please!
Vad? A close game. Enjoy.
It is balance between two bads. Guranteed progress in lower divisions supposedly increases pool of players the match maker pulls from. This may in some circumstances improve match making. Downscaling being not possible in lower divisions decreases mm quality.
I hope Anet will carefully analyze the data before S4.
Question for you: Lets assume Anet agrees to increase queue times and adds a new queue. They would then ask us players in poll which ONE you prefer: a) core queue OR b) soloqueue. Adding either of these will decrease pool of players to maintain reasonable matchmaking.
In what reality you live? If a company trashes it’s business by giving major products for free then that company will be out of market quickly. Core only pvp is totally free to play, not buy to play as Anet business model is.
A new map should be more like new scenery, graphical theme and places to LOS. I don’t believe in new fancy secondary mechanics.
That said the dev team should rather prioritize things like ingame pvp tutorials or game recording. Why not assume similar community feedback polls as in wvw.
Nothing wrong with blobbing. With a good commander and semiproper blob the loot is overwhelming and gameplay is relaxed. I love it after a long day at work.
There is nothing that needs fixing on blobs. Several players enjoy the concept and it is actually something that GW2 does better than it’s competitors.
For season 3 I would propose that sesson 2 legends and diamonds start first. Four days later the season opens for S2 ruby and sapphire. Four more days and it opens for all the rest including those who didn’t participate S2.
Consider this sale: A player may purchase one copper fed salvage machine for 1500 gems and unlock it in wardrobe to claim free copies to all account characters at will.
I think this would have been good sale already but instead they gave even more (1 slot for all toons, possibility to share any other QoL item at will, etc.)
Frifay ftw.
15 chars.
Matchmaking seems succeded in OP attached sample because very close games. Streaks like this are disheartening though.
As a note to personal points. Everyone understand that they are not representation of skill only. Really no need to make several posts about it in every thread. However if you rotate in a smart way making difference then there is nothing wrong in getting high personal points.
Friday evening reset was a more festive occasion. People came home from work, eager to play and/or get hammered and just have fun. Saturday… its just not the same. Fridays feel empty now. Pointless.

Not saying any names but seeing examples around where exceptional players and new players end up same position in the rank system is strongly against common sense.
well, there should be some equality – so either you see only the gamemode-relevant info, or you see all three (mastery level, leagure division and WvW rank) in every gamemode.
Also, heh, and at the same time they make auras invisible due to “lowering visual clutter”.
This guy gets it.
I’m playing on plains of ashford and still have my amber rating hovering over my head, this hardly feels appropriate for this portion of the game.
thank you.
Why haven’t you complained about seeing player levels in PvP, which has been around for much longer then?
PvP tag in PvE is ok. What is funny though is that in WvW you see PvP tag AND PvE mastery rank but NOT the WvW rank.
Enemy players see your WvW rank…
Allied players see PvP rank and PvE rank. Enemy players see neither. In order to be in line allied players should be able to see them all. I couldn’t possibly care less what some invader sees or not.

And you also made 9 other players to wait an extended time in the queue.
It seems currently in matchmaking there is too little weight on deviation from team avg. MMR. Resulting comps like: 10-10-12-8-10 v.s 30-10-1-5-4
Both have avg mmr 10 but the second team would have hard time if the “30” mmr couldn’t carry the team. What if the single high mmr player was a war/thief for example?
So much thought put into elaborating hurt feelings when your neighbour gets something and you can’t deny it.
There are two optional design approaches for this:
a) individual centered
b) 9/10 or “all the other players”
Option b) results more satisfactory situation for the playerbase than a). If all players require maximum flexibility the resulting system will be unplayable for all.
Advice: Don’t leave from your computer until you get match confirmation pop-up. Hit accept and you are free to leave for guaranteed 1,5 mins before match begins.
There was official statement year ago along with current dynamic queue. It is bold to expect “an official statement” for any new issue that might bother someone.
Dynamic queue has issues when low population I admit that. Lets hope the season and Pro league helps.
There is zero reason not to fix HJ. It is part of the game and first experience in PvP. If not fixed it should be removed.
One explanation could be a lag spike for 2 sec just when the thief attacked. In that time there could’ve been 3 vaults and combat log groupped them into single row. Log is often leaving data out.
Streaks happen and the losing ones feel ***kitten. However you need to put them into 50 or more groups before drawing conclusions.
+1 Fashion collector with only 3 actually tolerable armorsets. Glorious and some cultural.
If you saw DH coming prepare to dodge or stunbreak&dodge. If you didn’t see then there will be issues with any burst capable profession. Still even then you might have shadowstep or stability saving you.
QQ: ers are in war against each other on this forum and current situation is that all and everything needs nerf equally so we are in a good spot ????
I am not commenting pvp and action cam but you can easily bind several hotkeys using combos with SHIFT, ALT, CTRL.
Effects are fine now. Such aQoL improvement!
I have 9 chars. Three map completes and the rest are slowly progressing. It is content and something to work towards between wvw and pvp that I mostly play.
As a side note I would prefer wvw exp not to be account bound.

In any other mmo expansion you would need to level up 10 times before you could begin grinding for raid level gear. That progression would take 1-2 years for casual raider.
In GW2 you can begin the content right away as the content is character development. I have to say that anet failed in one area on this: Communication. Other than that I am OK.
You all should be happy that you have something to do for a few days because next xpac is going to be released not earlier than 2-3 YEARS from now.
I don’t see any chance that our guild could continue reset raids after this change goes live. You have sacrificed our WEEKLY CARNIVAL to gain what?
Now no one in EU gets to the reset. No more events and fun ????.
Currently wvw is dead on Thursdays and Friday until reset. Why on earth we would want it dead from Fri-Sat when majority is having free time?
Why would I open GW2 at all if wvw is practically disabled?
Big NO for daily farmers into ranked/unranked. They used to harm matchmaking but since they mostly moved to custom arenas the issue has resolved.
Voted no.
Queue type is not any priority – only mathmaking is. I get balanced matches most time regardless queue type.
Another point is that I VERY rarely get mached against a team (like less than 1/20).
I play EU primetime.
I ’ve noticed it too. Good you brought it up.
