Sorry, I had no idea in which forum to place this.

I really enjoyed all 3 of the Guild Wars novels but have a hard time finding books that are comparable, with fantasy races etcetc.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sea of Sorrows ebook in Europe?

So.. this is driving me crazy.

I didn’t bother getting the Kindle cause, as a resident outside of the UK, I’d have to get the NA Kindle from the NA website, aswell as get all my ebooks from there.

I decided to settle for a Sony e-reader.. but their NA store doesn’t let you sign up with a country outside of the NA, and their UK version of the store doesn’t have Sea of Sorrows.

So.. does anyone know of a store that offers ebooks in multiple EU countries that also has Sea of Sorrows?

I haven’t read anything about this. I also bought an Infinite Continue Coin. So I’m both hoping (and assuming) that SAB is here to stay this time?

Do rangers need a nerf? (sPvP)

Although I agree with the argument of spirits being able to die, not ALL classes have powerful AoE, nor do they have the time to actually kill all these spirits (or even 1) while the ranger does insane damage. You’re basically always “in a pinch” against a spirit ranger if you have to go about killing atleast his Sun Spirit first, then perhaps (if the ranger chooses to use it) the elite spirit so he can’t revive himself.

This also means the ranger always has full control of the fight, considering he can just bash away on the target while the target is desperately struggling to keep up with the spirits (that follow the ranger at 300% speed or something).

Store backpacks & weapons that STAY!

One of the things I find most annoying about GW2 is the constant change of what is and what isn’t available, both when it comes to the whole living world thing and the trading company.

Luckily, I don’t pve. So I’m not going to whine about that.

I would, however, very much appreciate some GOOD looking gear that doesn’t disappear from the store after a short duration. Preferably more armor sets, instead of town clothing.. and if it is town clothing, preferably in sets. As the current town clothing that isn’t part of a set is so butt-ugly there is not really a way to combine pieces of clothing and create something good looking. (Which is a shame, because the Fuzzy hats are awesome).

At the moment, there’s not a single weapon in the store, and the only backpacks available might be questionable to your tastes (Not sure if they can be converted for pvp use, either).

Despite the fact that weapons might be the most important-aspect of your character when it comes to looks, especially when you’re constantly wearing a Greatsword on your back. And backpacks aren’t around in abundance in the game.

First off, I like to play Ranger myself. I’m also all for the “any class should be powerful if the player is skilled” system. But at the moment this is not the case for rangers, in my opinion.

If I play any other class, and I come across a ranger with the spirit-build, I almost automatically lose. They just CANNOT die, and if you magically manage to down them somehow, a.k.a. through the help of a teammate or trebuchets etc, they can summon their elite spirit right before going down just to get back up again before you can finish him.

I’m sure I’ll get a lot of hate for this since it’s the ranger forum. But I’d like this game to be as balanced as possible, so just letting myself (and potentially others) be heard.

Should GW2 have Capes/Cloaks Poll

I’d love it. They could count as Backpacks or something I guess. I was INCREDIBLY disappointed in Arenanet with the weird Guild Banner-backpack skin, it looked so tiny and dumb compared to the amazing cloaks in GW1.

What's the current status of sPvP?

Last time I played this game, about 2 months ago, sPvP was completely down the drain, most rooms were either completely empty or half-full.

To be honest, most of the game seemed like that.

Is there any improvement now? I freaking loved Guild Wars, loved Guild Wars 2 for a while and really want to go back there.

S.A.B & general Anet content choices

First of all, I haven’t really been up-to-date with Guild Wars 2. I got 100% exploration and rank 34 in PvP, then left the game due to the nonexistent PvP reward system. So if anything I say isn’t true, feel free to correct me.

Arenanet puts a lot of time in holiday events or other celebrated days. Though the events are mostly fun, they usually disappear and don’t really add any RPG to the game.

I feel they’re neglecting developing real content for the game due to these events, the replay value of current content is also rather low. It is mostly very story-based (which is fine, but once again that lowers the replay value).

The thing that keeps me, and 90% of the MMO community playing, is a combination of fun and rewarding content. This is (as far as I can tell) the reason why people enjoy raiding so much. They’re having fun with friends, fighting against bosses, and also get rewards out of it.

I know GW2 has dungeons but the issue with that is:

5-man groups are easily formed out of strangers, this pulls people towards playing solely for the reward and establishes a bland, grindy enviroment.

The reward is easily acquired, I’ve had times where I had collected my full dungeon armor before the dungeon even became remotely boring.

So yeah, in my opinion simple changes to this game like a reward system and extra playmodes in pvp. And some replayable content that has a healthy combination of pure fun, and also rewarding gameplay could really help this game on its way.

Cause really, this game is amazing, as Guild Wars 1 was. But Guild Wars 1 had a lot of added value, like the incredible builds you could make in pvp that really made it outshine the (already) standard builds every class in Guild Wars 2 has.

Is this game..dead?

I just logged in for the first time in a few months, expecting some fun pvp and silly Heart of the Mists conversation.

What I found was…almost saddening.

There’s barely anyone in Heart of the Mists, nor in the pvp servers.

What has happened to this game? Am I overseeing some kind of area where all players are at the moment?

From the moment I walked through Lions Arch to get to the portal till I got to the Heart of the Mists everything felt so dead..

Character Race Change Please!!!

Personal stories can obviously be modified. If you choose option 1 has a Sylvari, autoassign option 1 for Charr when racechanging. etc.

I think the fact that you think race changes are un-needed is ridiculous.. People sometimes just want to play a different race after a while, those are the social players who focus a lot on customization.

(And hence being a social player tends to mean you’re not up for completely rerolling and re-leveling a character)

It doesn’t affect anyone at all either if you racechange from a Norn to a Charr. It just makes the player happy with their choice and gives Arenanet money. And considering we’re still playing this game I think Arenanet deserves, and can use that money.

Isn't this patch just.. really wrong?

in The Lost Shores

Viridi.5467

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still enjoying this game and the new patch but some things just bother me..

Do we really just want to see more dungeons in a patch? I know this is a MMO, and MMOs are like this, but there must be some more unique content that can be added.

And what about that one-time event? I am not a developer but I’m sure that took a pretty big chunk out of the overall development time for the patch. It kinda feels like a huge waste, considering a big percentage just won’t be online and pretty much the entire community won’t get max-fun out of the event being laggy etc.

These are just my observations, I kinda feel like I always had something fun and meaningful to do back in GW1 and I kinda lack that feeling in GW2.

Flamethrower kit with condition damage or power?

in Engineer

Posted by: Viridi.5467

Viridi.5467

Hey guys,

I’m kinda confused about the flamethrower kit.

All the burning skills make it seem like something you’d take when you’re going for condition damage. But the main attack only inflicts a 1 second burn after the last attack of the channel.

Would you guys recommend the flamethrower with a condition damage or power build?

PvE builds for dungeons/solo?

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any good damage-dealing builds for engineers in dungeon groups or PvE in general?

I was pretty sure rifle’s direct damage was better than getting together a pistol condition build, but after browsing for a while I’m not so sure anymore.

None.

Finished it after 3 tries, simply failed the first time. Didn’t know I had to jump down onto the platform with the chest on the second. and actually MISSED the platform on the third.

It was amazing.

I don’t think you should push people who will tell you it’s easy into 3% of the playerbase.

I don’t have a lot of time to play myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Clock tower puzzle.
I kept my cool when I was failing, or I would just leave for a while. And it feels awesome when you finally complete the puzzle and you’re just dancing around next to the chest with the other 1 or 2 people that actually made it that try.

If it’s not your thing just don’t do it, mate.
It’s an event, it’ll be gone in 2 days.

The way you’re mumbling makes it sound like you’re actually one of those 3% that cannot have fun in a game and has to complete the puzzle cause it gives an achievement.

Stronger racial elite skills.

I just joined the forums so I’m not sure if this has been spoken about yet.

I would love to see stronger racial elite skills in the game.

In my opinion the most fun elite skill to use is the Asuran Power Suit. Unfortunately the damage is so incredibly low that it’s pretty much useless to ever use it. It gives more health, sure. But better survivability doesn’t really help when most of your damage output is gone.

I havn’t ever seen a Norn bother using any of the totem elites either (though that might just be me, havn’t tested Norn either), Nor a Charr using the bazooka.

It just feels like a waste, as they’re all incredibly fun skills to use.
