Guild Wars 2

Hi all,

A pal and I have launched Guild Wars 2 Secrets (Not always SFW), a user-submission blog which showcases the things that people think about the game but are too afraid to admit. Think Postsecret, but with a specifically GW2 angle!

We’d like to invite you all to get creative, and submit your secrets. Your secrets can be from your standpoint, or from your character’s. Our only real rule is to keep things private. So, don’t mention another player by name without their consent, and don’t shame anyone.

We want your anonymous confessions!

I think I can speak for all the RPers in this game when I say it is as annoying as balls to get kicked out of the game for inactivity when you’ve been actively typing commands for the past 45 minutes or more.

Oh yes, my friends. Somehow, /emote and /em and /say don’t actually count as activity in-game. So, for those of us who like to roleplay, we have to constantly fire off random spells so that the game doesn’t kick us off. If we’re lucky, we get a 50 second warning that a kick is imminent. But, more likely, we’ll get a 10 second warning, and then instantly find ourselves staring at the character selection screen.

Are we botting? No. Are we afk? No.

Fun fact about instanced zones: if you get kicked while in one, your entire party has to reenter the zone with you when you log back in.

Please, A.net. Please make your servers recognize /em, /emote and /say as valid activity! Getting kicked so often is really harshing our mellow.

I really like some of the skimpy clothing that female toons get, but I too would love a nice pair of simple pants for a caster. I would also like for some of the awesome skirts we have to not be -ruined- by having pants underneath.

While we’re making wishlists, I’d love some of the dresses that the human NPCs wear. My ele isn’t quite the type of girl to always wear a short skirt and gogo boots.

Agreed. Having the client kick me out with no way to find out what the heck was going on is ridiculous. Tonight was the only night in the next few weeks and a friend of mine and I could both be on, and we were really, really looking forward to playing together.

Or, here’s an idea: save maintenance for a time outside of peak usage. Like, say, the middle of the night. That’s one thing that Blizzard does well: servers come down for maintenance at 3 or 4 am, server time, which causes the least amount of disruption to players.

2 days in a row now, the obnoxious carny in Beetletun who you can fight for a skill point has been missing on Tarnished Coast.

Kind of hard to finish the zone without him!

This happens to me, as well. It even happens if I have the master volume turned completely down.

This is exactly what I came here to say. You can preview items elsewhere, but not in the TP?

Also, bonus points for letting us Inspect other players, to see what gear they have on.

Can we also make it so that Ranger pets keep their names? It’s frustrating when you name your Pig Sir Francis Bacon, but the next time he’s summoned, he’s just Juvenile Pig once more.
