- 5 player aoe cap- Zergballs are only effective because of the 5 player cap. By increasing the cap, it would make it so small groups could be viable against organized groups. But at the same time organized zergs could still run their tank trains. It would force zergs to get better, spread out, and there would be more epic fights. (Proof: DAOC)
- No incentive to run small groups- This is a must change. 2v1, and the 2 win, they should receive less WvW XP because they are at an unfair advantage. Or, if you dont want to “punish” the 2, you could “reward” the 1 with more WvW XP for fighting and winning when the odds were not ever in their favor.
- No diminishing return on CC- There needs to be some, once the CC effect has worn off.

I have also noticed this on Marionette and WvW. On my necro, I can go into plague but I cannot my skills in plague either. I know another fix is to get dazed. So if you are in WvW you can get hit by an Eagle Raptor.
I am going to guess this is occurring from a stun/daze making a stop state for the skills and not activating the skills once the daze/stun is over. This should be a really easy fix once their QA has 100% repro rates.

I used to run 10/30/30 with undead runes. Now that I am running torment runes and sigil, I am running 30/30/10 (dumbfire/fear) corrupt boon and eipdemic. I do use DS but only to torment, fear, and then life transfer for the aoe (on crit) torment from the sigil.

Apparently you and I have the same taste. 9/10 (not 10/10 because you aren’t Asuran)

@John,
Has there been any talks on Rune of the Undead actually being affected by Plague Form? Having 6 of the RotU is supposed to increase your condition based on your toughness and when the player drops into Plague, their toughness increases by quite a bit. While the condition damage is not affected. Is this as designed or is it a bug that needs a fix

Some internal thoughts on the discussion about Necromancers.
Mark of Blood
At 3 stacks of bleeding and a good amount of condition damage (without even taking into account condition or bleed duration modifiers) this skill was dealing well over 2000 damage, and could be used every 6 seconds. It is a 1200 range attack that can hit 5 targets, and on top of that can place regeneration on 5 allies that can heal each of those allies for up over 1000 health every 5 seconds, and can basically maintain 100% regeneration uptime. The only drawback is also somewhat of a benefit which is that it requires an enemy to trigger it, which also allows you to precast it and then basically almost double it up as it gets triggered. This is one of the most versatile and powerful skills in the game. A huge amount of the condition damage from necromancers comes from their bleeds and while they are removable in theory, the ease with which necromancers can apply conditions makes it is virtually impossible to ever get to the bleeding at the bottom of the stack.
I understand that Mark of Blood does seem like an OP ability when you compare it side by side with other single abilities. But if you compare it to other abilities in the game that have the same types of effects, the necro staff 2 is the jack of all trades (master of none) ability. It has a bleed, but it isn’t an auto attack nor can you pump out bleed stacks. Those 3 bleeds are the only bleeds with staff. It has a heal, but the enemy is the one who causes it to heal. And it heals 1/5 of what Guardian staff 1 heals for (per second).
The overall condi necro needs more stacks of bleeding not less. There is an issue with other classes reaching reaching 25 stacks of bleeding causing the necro to only do damage that is direct. For a condition necro this makes the player almost useless.
this skill was dealing well over 2000 damage, and could be used every 6 seconds.
2k damage over 6 seconds? Is that a lot? The last time I checked billion blades does somewhere between 15-18k in 1 second, every 5 seconds. Not to mention, there are tons of condition removal in WvW. TONS! And from what I have been reading, Anet is going to be adding more.
can place regeneration on 5 allies that can heal each of those allies for up over 1000 health every 5 seconds
An enemy player has to trigger the heal and your allies have to be inside the area that the mark was triggered. The area in which the mark give out a hot is small (even when traited) compared to all other healing areas and it doesn’t pulse like other healing areas. If your friendly isn’t inside right when the mark is triggered, they are out of luck for the heal.
the ease with which necromancers can apply conditions makes it is virtually impossible to ever get to the bleeding at the bottom of the stack.
That is how it should be. It isn’t like Anet has made it so an ability that removes 3 conditions only removes 3 bleed stacks. It can remove 25 bleed stacks 25 stacks of vulnerability and 25 stacks of confusion. A necro should constantly be adding bleeds, that is how they do damage.
Those are my thoughts.

If this were an actual thing, this is what makes 1v1v1 so much fun. I remember in the days of DAoC when Albs had all the relics and were really hard to beat. Hibs and Mids joined up to fight the Albs, because combined they had more numbers and that increased their chances to make it a balanced fight again.
I think teaming up against the “better” server should be encouraged.

I like that you look like a dark sylvari. Your character looks natural yet evil. And with those eyes it makes you look even more evil.
I personally am going for a clean look. Like, someone who is rich that you would find practicing dark magic on orphans while the rest of the world thinks he is a nobel.

remove the AOE cap.
ABSOLUTELY! Keep the cap on AOE boons and take off the cap on AOE DPS.

Corrupt Boon with Epidemic is the way to go. SoS throws on some conditions, but the other player keeps all their boons. Corrupt Boon turns 5 of their boons into conditions and negates their boons. Sure, SoS could be good when someone doesn’t have boons, but how often do you run into someone with none?

Trident 1 tag as many things as you can, kite them in a circle, Epidemic, Trident 5. If you have pulled too much, go into plague.

I know some people will say oh hey, why do you run so much toughness?
I’m sure you went 30 in DM for the traits and not just because of the extra toughness to combo +15 cond dmg with undead…?
Right, there are some really good traits in DM that compliment staff as well as Terror from Curses. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have all that toughness while being in close for group fights or dropping into Plague and having ridiculous toughness.
I also use Chilling Darkness, it is real good for spamming 2 while in Plague. The AOE blind is OP enough and throwing a spammable chill in there is even more OP. The reason I use that Chilling Darkness instead of say, hemophilia, is that there are so many condition removal abilities in WvW, bleeds rarely stay on until their duration is finished. Also it’s nice to have that slow when you are trying to escape. Another plus is for OH dagger 4. Blind, chill and condition transfer is pretty OP.

This all depends on your group setup. I really love my conditionmancer. My spec is 10/30/30/0/0. I know some people will say oh hey, why do you run so much toughness? Shouldn’t you run more power? Because Rune of the Undead that’s why. I am running full Rabid and maxing up toughness, only makes my conditions hit harder because of my runes. I run scepter dagger, staff, with corrupt boon, epidemic(a must for group play) and Locust. I only run Locust because it is nice to have the passive speed buff and it helps with kiting.
With the group I run with I will get full stacks of might, full condition weapon stacks, and running food… My bleeds hit for 201 if the wind blows correctly. I can get 18 stacks on if I get my rotation correct, then I epidemic.

In a 5 man I was up to 201 with full stacks, food, and maxed might in WvW. Then bam, Epidemic! I’ll try and get a screen shot the next time this happens. It is starting to become the perfect storm though, with all the condition wipes and debuffs… High numbers are getting harder to come by. When you do land the perfect epidemic it is beautiful. Watching all those white numbers just float away like they don’t have a care in the world.

AZRG…I don’t ever want to see you again. Like…ever.
Wow. I hope you choke on all of the loot bags you got from us.
Man, that was a lot of fun last night!
Oh wow, I didn’t even know AZRG was a DB guild.
Now I’m curious what you guys didKilled a bunch of people. We’re a small man group so it’s understandable that you don’t know us, but any enemy that runs a group less then 20 sure does.
Preacher
How many is “small man group?”
5-10 normally.
That night we had 7.
There is even some times we run 4. Like that video Incomingray posted earlier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKZqlXn-t5o we were 4 then Trajiki showed up making us 5.

Corrupt Boon and Epidemic becoming unblockable are huge in my book. Both for WvW and SPvP

Ah, well that’s to bad. Yeah i figured that was ya’ll. In the past we had some good fights when we were rocking the [Rakk] tag, but since then we have become [Azrg], which is actually [Rakk]+[Newl]. Again thanks for the fight, and now i know what tag to be looking out for…
Preacher
Oh hey! I know those guys!
Preacher you missed it last night, this is what we were dealing with… And CRUSHING it.
