Haha, that first part shouldn’t have been in there. Just the part about me waiting for the QQ about Mesmers being overly OP because we got buffs to anything. At all.

However, while we are on it…I am not a fan of taking more damage instead of less >: although in the end I suppose it is not a HUGE nerf.

Illusionary Defense: Fixed this trait to properly decrease damage taken by 3% per illusion.

Alright guys and girls. Time to prepare yourselves. Mesmers got a buff. Commence the QQ parade until we get nerfed again.

I am positive you can create more clones than guardians can clear. in WvW last night I had a 2v1 vs 2 guardians. Most definitely created more clone fodder then they were clearing. Just wanted to point that out <3

No one answered this question >: That makes me a little sad. Anyway I am going to try to answer it myself. Keep in mind I am no Chaos or Osicat or someone. Just a fan of Mesmer and a fan of Roaming.

1.) I love the weapon set up. I found the Staff a much harder weapon to learn than GS but so much more rewarding in the PK stuffs.
2.) Go to Ether feast for heals. It heals more and since Mesmer is all about the clones one way or another you get even MORE heals on top of it. We are talking up to 3.some odd k more heals (Yes that is totally a number shush). Time portal is nice but it almost sounds you are solo roaming and in that case…Mass Invis in the Final slot might benefit you more both for setting up the engagement OR disengaging a bad situation.

3.) And this is huge bias on my end but…get rid of Portal. I refuse to use portal on any build I have on a Mesmer. Absolutely refuse. In mass zerging everyone wants to use you us a portal ho which is a waste of the class and a waste of my time. Mesmers can be so much more than that. in small scale you set it up before you go into the fight and you do not feel like you are ‘all in’ since you have that safety net…and a lack of a utility slot to use. I suggest replacing with Null field in this condition heavy meta. It has saved me on multiple occasions.

-condition% food. I refuse to leave home without it. Stuff is a life saver!

I actually find myself opening with staff and switching to sword/focus to be honest. staff 3 has a HUGE potential for damage from the mid range as well as buffing you before you close the gap into the important shatter + sword3 + sword 2 combo.

anyway these are just suggestions ^^ run with them for a bit. You might be surprised. At this point I feel comfortable running full zerker and all in against my opponents. trial and error and a lot deaths helped to get to thaat point along the way. Mesmer is a tougher class than most imo…but the most rewarding. SO much fun to burst down with a shatter and close in with sword2 and finish the job up close and personal in a robe class.

I…have no idea how to use a GS in pvp. It makes absolutely no sense to me. I understand it can be powerful but giving up Staff 2 for GS 5 just does not compute in my head XD It has a lot of defense that is desperately needed to be viable especially in a build like this that lacks the mobility we normally operate with. Keep in mind I am mostly a WvW roaming girl as well. sPvP is just for kicks I guess. (I say this and totally use the GS for WvW while zerging. 2-4 combo so nice for the extra DD on the back line.)

Anyway onto the real questions: I found the soldier amulet better. Way more defense and to be honest other than bursting I am not seeing a noticeable drop in damage (not enough for me to go full glass cannon with it at least). In my mind the goal is not how fast you can take them down…just that you do it. I can outlast everything but a bunker Guard with Soldier and have DD to spare anyway. I played the build as support class and it worked wonderfully in its role. I got caught alone multiple times and even the 2v1s I was doing fairly decent in like…2 hours of testing it out. You need blink for stun break and portal for a team comp but…only if you cannot lock down the other team and are fighting the 5v5. this build can lock down people right before big DD comes along…on multiple people. No need for portal when you fill the same roll with a different style. This build makes fights unfair. was designed to do so. Granted I need to learn better swap timing and using null field offensively is really weird but…

final opinion: I would love to hear your final suggestions and tweaks but the way I am running it now seems fairly accessible and is complete troll mode in the 1v1. Signet, Mantra daze, Null field and invis in the utility is just hilarious. and I STILL can burst down final HP on command. Either way. Lots of fun. Will be playing it often through the next couple of weeks. Totally revitalized my love of Mesmer.

Stumbled upon this build today and decided since I only play sPvP to play-test fun builds for WvW I mine as well try it out. I made a few adjustments to it (for example using Soldier trinket with Zerk infusion instead) and switching out blink for mantra daze. (playing without blink was scary!)

Just oh my goodness. One of the most FUN builds I have played ever. I am no pro by any means but holding off multiple people and playing on comms with one other Warrior friend of mine we could clean house! switching out to staff for that chill and knowing a hundred blades is coming next just made me giggle. Even worked while I was on my own without support.

Props to the theory for this. I may not be a pro but I know for a fact this build has some serious potential. First few minutes and I was already doing wonderful with it.

I love this GS but if I was going to get a legendary it would most definitely be a Staff. I think mainly it is unpopular with the mesmers because the only thing I ever see my friends use a GS for is PvE…That is including myself. I DO have one…but it is only used to gain bloodlust stacks and care bear like a boss.

My Man stopped playing his sylvari he rolled because of this problem bump for fix please!
