May have been brought up in the past, but seeing this made me think of: What about a pick your own stats amulet, 4 drop down menus, top two are main, bottom two are secondary.. you choose which stats you want.

Sunstone Nugget requires a lv20 item. Hero’s Band would be considered too ‘low’ to use it on, believe that’s what’s causing your problems.

Mmm, I came here from Tera. It had none of the issues you are so worried about despite having person-to-person trades. Heck, people were actually complaining that /t wasn’t turned on by default.
And having in mind that LA overflow chat is a mix of German, French, English and about a dozen other languages(EU servers that is), I don’t think WTT spam would somehow make it worse. Is unrelated spam was an issue, people would be complaining about that, don’t you think?

I never played Tera, so not sure about that. But you are correct about spam, you don’t see many people complaining about it now although it certain exists. Maybe you are right and adding WTT/WTS type spam wouldn’t push it over the top to being annoying, I’m not sure.

Couple things, people don’t use the channels right to begin with. /team for example in WvW, lots of people still use /map even though the idea would be to use /team so you can filter out everything for team related tasks. Resulting in me keeping both /map and /team on so I can see both all the help requests and random shouting matches, where if people split them up accordingly I could avoid seeing people yell at each other for silly things while still seeing we are trying to take this tower or keep.

Secondly, the games (like GW1) that have a trade channel, doesn’t prevent people from using other forms of chatting to buy or sell their items. It still spills over, because sellers and buyers alike recognize that a lot of people are just going to turn off /trade and so they use something else to get their message seen by the most people.

If they add direct trades, I certainly hope a channel comes along so we can filter out some, but regardless adding trading to the game would most definitely result in more spam shouting in the towns like previously mentioned by Chamone.

Very good point, I honestly hadn’t thought of that. That was basically the chat window for GW1, in fact I think the only thing I ever typed outside of guild chat was “WTS Cloths of Brotherhood” and so on.

Certainly something should be done to the player if it can be proven he/she scammed. Just like in real life, it’s not good to have people running around trying to scam others, so having violations for doing such only helps the community as a whole.

Not that refunds should be given out by ANet, the OP certainly made a mistake and shouldn’t be refunded. But it’s still not okay to allow people to willingly attempt to scam.

True, but depending on the amount of gold and time frame of suspension, it still could be counter productive to make gold via scamming. Plus a 3-7 day ban is fairly presumptuous. You get 3 days for foul language, whose to say it isn’t much longer for scamming gold? If they can see he’s scammed enough, they could very well just perma ban him. That would be a true GG.

I believe this happened to me before on Guardian, but I think I figured out that it was my trait to pass around virtues that caused it. Have you redone some traits to add an AoE buff to allies?

Although, even if you did, not sure if this is intended or not.

I honestly didn’t intend for moving goal posts, my second post was more of a “this is what I’ve done” proving you were correct that I wasn’t in combat. Check Explorer achievements in H panel and confirm that Kryta, Orr, Maguuma, Shiverpeak, and Ascalon are all completed.

These achievements are not a part of the world completion as some areas do not have POI’s, hearts, skill points, vistas.

Try going to all zones again to make sure each area is at 100% and then the 4 WvWvW maps.

They did add 2 Poi’s to lions arch so make sure you have those as well.

I also remember reading that if you did not accept a chest for completing an area you will not get the 2 gifts once you reach 100% until that chest was completed.

I received my gifts of exploration and have not completed Orr’s yet. The area still covered by fog must not have any POI’s, Vista’s or Waypoint’s.

Hmm, I have done it. I actually zone into other areas with enemies chasing me often, I even waypoint that way some times. Catching 4-5 adds and waypointing before they hit you is a great way to avoid a death.

Hello! It doesn’t bother me in any way, but just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Last night we did 2 rounds of fractals, but only received 5/7 on the tracker. To the best I remember the order was: Charr attack the city, Underwater with dolphins, Swamp with Mossman. That took me from lv3 to lv4. Then we did: Cube one with jumping and harpies with 4 Golem’s at the end, Gnawl fight where he kills villagers for HP, Svanir frostbite one and then Jade, which brought me to lv5.

Now, during Svanir one two of my friends disconnected and we 3 manned the last two (possible reason for only 5/7), or two of the fractals didn’t get credit elsewhere? Not sure, I didn’t check until after the run and it only says 5/7.

Certainly don’t need action myself, I’ll more than likely pick up a few more before the end of the month anyway, but just wanted to bring this to your attention in case there was some sort of bug.

SoS has been doing very well in WvW lately, might be more people going to that. They recently got into Tier 1 and have been doing very well there verse us (SBI) and JQ.

Not sure how much Karma you have, but you can always turn your karma into gold. I know with the forge you aren’t guaranteed any specific amount of coins for your karma, but if you have a lot of it without anything to use it on, it certainly could help.

If two people were equally skilled and on equal footing, then gear would essential be the deciding factor. I just don’t think that’s possible to ever happen, and if it did, then you made a mistake somewhere. Smart players will keep the “high ground” and avoid an equal battle. A don’t fight unless you can win approach. If you find yourself in an equal battle, then my guess is there is something you could have done better.

Also to your max stat are mostly noobs, it does hold some water. Right now someone who owns a legendary, most likely has not done as much PvP as someone who hasn’t invested that much time in PvE. Over the years this division will blur, but certainly right now it’s fair to assume max stat players probably aren’t the best PvP’ers out there.

The best part about legendary and ascended gear is how little they matter.

For a WvW anecdotal reference, I have been doing it with my Necro lately who is level 62 and dressed in lv50 blue gear. I generally avoid the zergs and try to take out supply caravans and check point veterans. I haven’t had issues winning 1 on 1 battles if I play well, if I don’t play well I lose.. I haven’t yet lost a fight and thought “well her/his gear beat me because I played perfectly.” Maybe if I followed the zerg around I’d have more issues, because more people could potentially be attacking me at once? Not sure, but you can certainly be competitive and enjoy the game without even exotic gear.

One advantage to moving WvW kills to the PvP achievement is it would reduce the load on the WvW maps (i.e. less people would go out to WvW).

Right now having WvW in the PvE achievement forces players that PvE into the WvW zones (if they want the PvE monthly). This hurts everyone because:

1. People who don’t want to WvW are mad because they “have to” for the PvE monthly
2. People who love to WvW have longer queue times because some players are there only for the monthly PvE.

If you move WvW to the PvP monthly the PvE players who hate PvP will never touch it (because there’s no chance of getting the PvP monthly unless you go into s/t PvP).

Another option: make a monthly WvW achievement with 4 WvW type things (keeps taken, dolyaks killed, players killed, etc). The only risk here is possible karma explosion for some players doing all three monthly achievements (45k x3, plus boosters).

Karma explosion? PvP daily/monthlies don’t give Karma since it wouldn’t really benefit a PvP player. They give Glory if I remember correctly. My guess is if they set up a WvW daily/monthly, it would reward Blueprints and Badges of Honor? Although Karma is still beneficial to a WvW player, so it is possible that would be a reward.

You’re screen doesn’t show the max tiers, need to hover over with your mouse for that. There are 4 tiers 5, 15, 30, 50.

Yea, my credit card puts my subway lunch as “Gasoline” because the shop happens to also be inside a place that also sells gas. A lot of times it’s the bank/credit card that are archaic ones. My bank doesn’t group NCSoft with anything, oddly enough, just listed under Misc.

I don’t WvW at all, I did it all for the TPvP. Heck I would accept being transferred this one time with being penalized for a month or two of nothing being able to WvW. I would give them some gem’s even for their trouble if they could get me back to US. I would take a month long penalty of not being able to transfer even.

Yea that’s what I mean, I have a small group of friends who play on another server and would love to pop over and do some things with them once in a while, but it’s hard with this system.

If I understood correctly, the change from 24 hours to 7 days was mainly because people would jump servers to get to other areas on the WvW map, it’s just too bad people abused the system. I just wish they could have set something up like my suggestion, but likely would cause more coding than it’s worth.

I suppose my issue might be gone once guesting is in place anyway. Speaking of beer, Sam Adams Winter Lager soon I’d think, oh man that’s my favorite seasonal.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully in a couple days you’ll be able to rejoin your server. I wish they were able to leave the transfers to once every 24 hours to help you guys out. Maybe just put in a “once you transfer to a new server you are unable to join WvW for a couple weeks,” that way you guys could change servers to help friends or whatever but not be penalized as if you were doing it just to obtain a POI or Vista in WvW.

The tab is no longer on the hero menu, I believe it’s on the main HUD up by the WvW icon. Is that what you are looking for?

I think the main reward was fun, and they offered a lot of it. I hope they were sort of beta tests for future sPvP modes.

Interesting, what kind of error are you getting? Could it be that the location where the one character is might be too taxing on your hardware and causing the crash? Are you logging in from a different PC or something?

If not, and the PC you are using is strong enough to support the game, then it may be an issue with your account, but when you say it crashes that makes me wonder if it might be a local issue.
