Just play Dark Souls if you want a game that has that kind of thing done right.
You also need to keep in mind that a lot of those mechanics aren’t really punishing, but bad design. Losing all of your gear means that I lose a lot of time and is a griefers paradise. No fast travel is just stupid, why do I want to run through the same location 100 times? Lack of a ‘leash’ is pretty much a griefer tool and makes no real sense. Staring at a book for 15 minutes to regain mana is just wasting my time, which is valuable.
I also like Guild Wars 2 because of how easy it is. The game was never meant to be super punishing or difficult outside of the higher levels of PvP. The PvE is meant to be something you pick up and just play as a co-op game or a singleplayer game in the case of personal story.
Why bother playing a game if you don’t intend to at least have fun? Its not like you are making money off the game, it is something to do as a means to pass the time and not much else like every other game in the world.
Yogi the Bearslayer.
I want to see an elite shout since signets and banners are already there. Not much else since the class is pretty much perfect where it is now.
I actually don’t want a roleplaying server. The complaints are fair, but I would rather RPers be spread out. I don’t see Anet putting a lot of resources into policing a server like that and it would make it really easy for those RPers to be picked or ridiculed because they do what they like to do.
There are a lot of them on the Tarnished Coast I’m sure, but they are still spread out over other servers, so all the hate isn’t directed towards that particular server.
If Anet was willing to put the resources into it and there was a strict enforcement it would be a completely different story though.
Good to know someone else likes this particular weapon set + playstyle with shout support. Been using it since beta and haven’t switched in 150 hours on my Warrior. I like most of your build except for Healing Signet and the choice of gear.
Healing Signet is nice and all, but it doesn’t have the burst heal I’m a fan of.
I’m more of a fan of the Carrion set because it makes you even beefier, and is more consistent. You lose crit chance, but you gain a nice ‘tankiness’ buffer that lets you stick in the fray even longer with your sword.
I gotta try out Empowered for sure though, I just assumed the damage was so minuscule that it wasn’t worth taking over Empower Allies.
I want to see new weapons like a two handed axe, polearms, crossbow, or even straight up spears would all make fine additions.
I’ve been seeing a lot of complaints about waypoint costs and at first I was one of those people. Then I started looking for ways to get around the problem and I have a few ways that the cost can be cut down.
-Know the location of Asura gates and USE THEM. Below is a short list of the most used gates and where they go.
-Ebonhawke: This is accessed from the Ascalon District in Divinity’s Reach and takes you all the way to the right side of the map. Useful for farming the Shatterer or the northern Charr areas.
-Fort Trinity: This depends on which order you joined, but there is an asura gate in their instance. Start from Lion’s Arch and run to one of those for a quick trip into Orr. Obviously its good for farming events and ore in Orr.
– PVP->Lion’s Arch: When you are done in an area, hit H and go into Heart of the Mists. Then use the Asura gate to travel to Lion’s Arch, which links to the rest of the world.
-Capital City Asura Gates: Everyone knows about these, but I’m putting it in here for the sake of completion.
-Your legs aren’t broke, teleport into a zone and walk to events. This saves a lot more silver then you would think and gives you the chance of running into events on the way to another event.
-Gather materials. I find that a single tier 6 ore vein is enough to recoup my costs of traveling to Orr and give a small profit.
These things cut my traveling costs down to a minimum and gave me much more silver to work with towards Draconic or whatever I need to sink money into.
I have the exotic set I crafted out of Mithril and then transmuted a few different sets together that I’m keeping and I’m gonna keep the Draconic Set whenever I get around to crafting that.
Ironically enough I can’t stand any of the dungeon armor outside of the Kodan one, which looks OK at best. Also not a fan of the 42K karma exotic skins.
My time is probably gonna be spent getting a nice set of exotic weapons instead.
Here is what I use as a Rifle based Warrior
Solution worked for me too.
